Sheryl, having her own way as usual
As Hywel comes in, he finds that Sheryl has removed one of the pictures from the wall;
"You can't do that!"
“You can’t do that!   We bought it in Harlech!” he protests.
Sheryl points out, “You and Gaynor bought it – put it in the garage.”   Hywel is adamant that it is not going in the garage.
"I'm taking you to the doctor's"
Gethin brings in the washing and finds Ffion frantically searching down the back of the sofa;  “You won’t find anything there,” he says, “It’s drier than the Sahara here!   Get changed – I’m taking you to the doctor’s.   You need to give a note to give to Gaynor – tell him you’re stressed, and while you’re there, you can ask about rehab.”
"We're fine as we are"
Ffion disagrees and insists they are fine as they are, but Gethin tells her, “I can’t stay home every day – Garry is losing patience already!”
Dai declines the offer of a pint
Hywel meets Dai by the shop;  “Fancy a pint?” he asks, but Dai is not keen, and mentions that tonight Diane is off on one of her council meetings.
"You must be desperate to get out of the house!"
Gaynor tells Hywel that it sounds as if he is desperate to get out of the house.
"Come over to discuss Meic's memorial service"
Anita, standing nearby, interrupts them;  “Dai, I was hoping you’d come over to discuss Meic’s memorial service, and tonight’s the only night I’m free.”
"You're going to be drinking alone!"
Gaynor remarks to Hywel that it looks like he will be drinking alone.
Tessa is going shopping
Tessa and the baby emerge from the door of number 7;  they are going shopping.
"Sorry, I have something important to do"
Gaynor turns down the offer from Colin of a drink in the Deri, saying she has something important to do.
"I want the house to myself tonight"
In the Deri, Anita tells Kelly that she wants a favour;  “I want the house to myself tonight.”
"Rather early to start dating again!"
Kelly is of the opinion that it is rather early to start dating again, but receives the answer, “Just stay out of the way and don’t ask questions!”   Kelly suspects this is something to do with Diane.
Gemma comes in and makes a point of warning Anita, “Be careful – your story will be in the paper next week!”
"I trusted you!"
She turns to Kelly and says, “How can you sit there?   I trusted you.”
Sioned shepherds her upstairs, but not before telling Kelly,
"I hope you're happy!"
“I hope you’re happy!   She was heartbroken at the therapist’s – it will be your fault if she goes back to the way she was before!”
"This is good stuff!"
Anita plies Dai with whisky, which he describes as, “Good stuff!   It would be a shame to see it go to waste.”
"A celebration of Meic's life"
Anita tells him she wants the service to be a celebration of Meic’s life, a chance to remember how special he was.
Dai ponders, “I don’t think we agreed 100% on anything – who will I argue with now?   It won’t be like arguing with Meic Pierce.”
Anita assiduously keeps filling the glass
He downs another glass of whisky, which has been filled by Anita.
Gaynor does some surveillance . . .
Tessa walks through a shopping centre, and Gaynor follows at a distance.
. . . sees Tessa meet a man . . .
Tessa meets a man, kisses him and hands baby Jac to him.
. . . and captures the evidence
Gaynor, lurking behind a pillar, captures the scene on her phone.
Gaynor is surprised by a strange man in the flat
Later, at the salon flat, Gaynor is disturbed to find Hywel walking in, having let himself in with a key.   “You can’t walk in when you like!” she protests, and he explains that he has come to check the meters, but he is also carrying a bottle of wine.
"Sleeping with you was a mistake"
“You shouldn’t be here – sleeping with you was a mistake” she tells him, and asks, “Does Sheryl know you’re here?
Apparently, Sheryl does not know
No, I thought not!   What sort of parent will you be if you’re still cheating like this?   Go home!”
Hywel hands over the flat keys
As he turns to leave, she demands that he leave the flat keys with her, and he meekly complies.
"Meic had values . . ."
“There was one thing about Meical,” reminisces Dai, as the alcohol takes effect, “He had values –that’s very rare – you knew where you stood with him.   I admire that in a man – today’s youngsters don’t care, don’t have fire in their bellies!”
". . . as well as hair like a toilet-brush"
As Anita refills his glass yet again, he continues, “Meic had hair like a toilet-brush at one point.   Reg, Wayne, Denz – there’s not many old stagers left.   Meic was a lucky man.”
Anita gets all touchy-feely
Anita squeezes his shoulder;  “Diane hasn’t done too badly, has she?” she simpers, and Dai realises that it is time he went.   “No, wait,” she tells him, “I’ve got a photo somewhere of Meic with that hair.”
"Have some more, while I get the photo"
While she fetches it, Dai finishes off the rest of the bottle of whisky.
Gaynor looks at Ffion's sick note
Gethin takes Ffion’s doctor’s certificate to Gaynor;  she is surprised to see it mentions “stress” when Dani had said it was flu.   “I had no idea she was stressed – I could have helped,” she tells Gethin.
Hywel will not put the picture in the garage
Hywel arrives home and is about to obediently take the picture out to the garage, when Sheryl remarks, “So you’ve seen sense,”
"Look what we'll replace it with!"
and produces a painting she intends to put in its place.   Hywel suggests that they wait and when the baby arrives, they can get a painting made of the three of them.
The whisky has had its effect, as planned
Anita comes downstairs to find Dai fast asleep on the sofa and snoring loudly;
His shirt is unbuttoned . . .
she unbuttons the top of his shirt, then applies lipstick
. . . and the traditional "lipstick on the collar"
and smudges it on his shirt collar.
"Oh, not again!"
Gethin is dispirited to come back and find Ffion drinking again;  “I deserved it after being a good girl at the doctor’s,” she tells him.
Gethin is at the end of his tether
He sits on the sofa in a state of helplessness, and Ffion whines, “Look at you - I have done this to you!”   Gethin says he has something to tell her;
"You're leaving me!"
she answers, “I know what it is – you’re leaving me.   I understand, because I’d leave too.”
Gethin tries to reassure her
He assures her that he is not going to leave her;  “How could I?   I shall always be here for you.”
Gaynor shows Colin the evidence
Gaynor goes round to see Colin;  “There’s no easy way to say this,” she tells him, and shows him the photo on her phone.   Colin looks rather deflated, as she continues,
"You have to face facts!"
“You wouldn’t treat someone else’s child like that, and he kissed Tessa.   You have to face facts – you might not be Jac’s father!”
"You're lonely and bitter!"
“You can’t bear to let me be happy!” Colin accuses her, “Isn’t jealousy a terrible thing?   You’re lonely and bitter!   Go back to your miserable flat, and leave me alone!”
The next, late-night, stage of the plan . . .
It is much later when Anita comes downstairs again, this time in her dressing gown,
. . . is to remove his watch
and carefully removes Dai’s watch.   A mobile phone rings;
The plan is temporarily hindered
she finds it in Dai’s jacket, and silences it.
Then she shouts, “Dai!   Dai!   You’d better wake up – it’s two in the morning!   You must go home – Diane will want to know where you are.”
Dai is befuddled by the alcohol
He sits up and looks confused when she continues, “Don’t worry – these things happen.   You do remember, don’t you?   We were sitting on the sofa, talking, then you kissed me and then . . .”
Dai protests that he would not do something like that,
Anita persuades him about what happened
but she replies, “You wouldn’t while Meic was here, but we’re both lost without him, aren’t we?
"Diane must not find out!"
It’s very important that Diane doesn’t find out about this, or she’ll be heartbroken.”
Dai struggles to his feet, then Anita brings to his attention the lipstick on his collar and advises, “Put it in the wash – a good soak, and no-one will know.
"Pretend it never happened!"
Put this behind you, and pretend it never happened, and everything will be all right, I promise.”
She managed to carry out the scheme
He scurries off home, and Anita permits herself a malevolent smile.
