"The boss has given you the afternoon off"
In the Deri, Sioned urges Ed, “You don’t have to go on the taxis – the boss has given you the afternoon off,” but he has to take someone to Carmarthen Station.   When he goes, Sioned sees Garry at the bar, and is pleased when he says,
Sioned is pleased to hear there is a job coming
“If you’re kicking your heels next week, you can probably help me.”   She eagerly asks when he needs her.
"I've moved back in!"
Ffion is surprised when she arrives home and Jinx follows her in;  “I’ve moved back in,” he announces, “Is it all right to sleep in the spare bedroom?”
Ffion furiously replies, “You can’t!   You’ve got a room at the salon flat!”   He goes on to tell her that, according to his solicitor, he could get full custody of Arwen,
"You put my name on Arwen's birth certificate"
and that it is all thanks to Ffion, for putting his name on Arwen’s birth certificate.   Disgusted, she leaves, as Jinx comments, “There’s no place like home, is there?”
Colin is apparently doing some "Pilates"
At Bryntirion, Colin is lying on the floor, raising and lowering his legs as instructed by Diane.   As Dai walks in for his lunch, he exclaims,
"Crikey Moses!"
“Crikey Moses!   Some of us have done a morning’s work!   What are you doing here with my wife?”   He also demands what he is supposed to do for lunch,
"You know where the tin-opener is!"
and Diane tells him that he knows where the tin-opener is.
Then Debbie arrives, and Dai invites her to, “Join the lentil and green tea brigade!”
Debbie is rather amused
Debbie laughs, as Colin tries to explain that he came to borrow Diane’s Pilates CD.   She says she ought to send a picture to the Western Post – “Local councillor in rough and tumble!”
She has come as she has been thinking of ways to improve the village;  “Have you seen the state of the pavements?   The road behind the cafĂ© is full of holes.”
"No, that's the County Council's responsibility"
Diane tries to tell her that such things are the responsibility of the County Council, and they have no money.   “It’s frustrating being on the local council – you don’t get a word of thanks, there’s long hours, lots of meeting and you don’t get a penny!”
Dai simply describes councillors as “power-hungry,” and then addresses Debbie;
"Now, if you don't mind, get out!"
Now, if you don’t mind, get out!   I’m starving!”
DJ does not look 100%
DJ is feeling under the weather with a terrible headache, but it is not caused by drinking, as he assures Cadno, when she comes in, complaining.
Cadno is in a real mood today
“Oh, poor you!” she remarks, “Maybe you should go up for a cwtch with Auntie Marian.”
“I would have more fun with her than with you – you’re so moody!” DJ replies,
"If you did a decent job of repairing the fence . . ."
but she accuses him of botching a fence repair, so that a cow has injured its leg.
"It's going to cost a fortune!"
“I have to phone the vet now, and it’s going to cost a fortune!” she moans
Cuddly toy, called Sid, for the baby
Hywel has bought Sheryl some flowers, and as they enter the Deri, he tells her, “It’s not very romantic – imagine it’s the Ritz!
"I want you to relax, Miss Hughes"
I want you to relax from now on, Miss Hughes.   It’s time we thought about a car seat and a pram.”
When he shows Sheryl a suitable one, she remarks, “Look at the price!” but he insists, “Only the best for our little baby!”   She looks quite pleased.
"I have to concentrate on Arwen"
Ffion visits Gethin at the garage, where he is busy servicing two cars;  “I’m sorry, but you’ll have to give me some time – I have to concentrate on Arwen!” she tells him.
"We will get through this together"
Gethin reminds her that it is early days and that they will get through things together
"No, I have to do this my way!"
“No, I have to do this my way,” she continues, “Val was right – I put myself before Arwen!   If we hadn’t been together last Friday, this wouldn’t have happened.   Arwen is important now – it’s over, Geth!”   As she turns and leaves, Gethin is puzzled.
Hywel is pampering Sheryl
Hywel hands Sheryl an envelope, containing a voucher for a massage and afternoon tea;  he will accompany her, but not for the massage.
"Here is the manifesto I have prepared"
Over by the bar, Debbie approaches Diane with a manifesto she has prepared, detailing leisure facilities, education, roads and bus timetables, which she says need improving.
Diane tells her that the County Council deal with those, but Debbie goes on, “There’s no sense in the last bus leaving Swansea at 10:30pm on a Saturday!”
"You usually get kicked out before then!"
Mark comments, “You usually get kicked out before then!”
Debbie maintains that if she and Diane were to co-operate . . . and then Dai interrupts,
Dai has to "put his oar in"
“You don’t know the meaning of the word!   Why do you women have to keep interfering in men’s business?”
"I think you'd make a good councillor!"
This infuriates Diane, so she has a sudden change of heart;  “I think you’d make a good councillor!” she tells Debbie.
"I've had an order for a quad bike"
Sioned, eager for more work, goes to Garry’s flat and asks, “Is this a big job, then?”   Garry tells her that it could be, and will be a chance for her to prove herself.   “I’ve had an order for a quad bike,” he says, but when he adds, “From Penrhewl Farm,”
"Any other farm but Penrhewl!"
Sioned’s expression changes.  “No, I can’t!   Any other farm but Penrhewl!”
"I could make life very, very difficult for you!"
“I give the orders – that’s what I expect you to do!” orders Garry, with a menacing tone, “I put Dani though a lot because of you – now I expect you to co-operate.   Are you refusing?   I could make life very, very difficult for you!”
"Here's the bill for the MOT"
Later, as Sioned and Ed are relaxing in their flat, Garry appears with a bill for an MOT.   “Everything has to be legit,” he tells them,
"Three hundred pounds?"
and Ed is aghast when he sees the bill is for £300.   “MOT and four new tyres,” says Garry, “Without them it wouldn’t pass the MOT, and I didn’t think you’d want to take risks with the police!”   When Ed protests that they cannot afford it, Garry has a suggestion;
Sioned knows exactly what sort of understanding"
“I’m sure we can come to some sort of understanding.”
Hywel, going up in Sheryl's estimation
Hywel has gone to the bar when Ffion dashes in to speak to him;  “You have to tell Jinx he can’t move back into the flat!”   However, Hywel insists that it is nothing to do with him (mainly to impress Sheryl, who is watching), and Ffion leaves in a temper,
Sheryl allows herself a self-satisfied smirk
while Sheryl again looks very pleased with herself.
Sioned catches DJ reclining
Sioned arrives at Penrhewl on the pretext of visiting Marian, and while talking to DJ, who is reclining on the sofa, looks around the room.   DJ complains that he cannot do anything right;  “Cadno jumps down my throat when I say anything!”
Cadno comes in, bewailing the fact that she will not be able to afford a holiday;
"Over £400, and you're paying your share!"
“Do you know how much I had to pay for painkilling injections?   Over £400, and you’re going to pay your share,” she tells DJ.
"Are you an expert on insurance?"
Sioned says she thought that is what they paid insurance for.
Aha!  That is where the keys are kept
As Cadno storms out, Sioned notices several keys on hooks by the door.
There is only one way to get Debbie off the council . . .
It appears that Debbie has already been co-opted on to the council, as Dai, sitting outside the Deri, tells Mark and Colin the only way to get her off it is to force an election.
. . . but Colin looks somewhat taken aback to hear he is the candidate
He decides that Colin would be a suitable candidate, but Mark simply smirks.
Hywel and Sheryl appear to be settling down
Inside, Sheryl apologises to Hywel for giving him a hard time, but he is glad that now they understand each other.   However, when she asks him to sign the divorce papers, his answer is,
"We can't discuss that over the weekend"
“We can’t discuss that over the weekend – this is our weekend!”
DJ must have improved, as he is talking to Sioned at the bar;  “Cadno has no right to treat me like that – I do my best!   She and the farm can go to hell!”
"Did you have any other choice?"
Sioned speaks to Garry, and tells him that she has reconsidered;  “Did you have any other choice?” he gloats, “I knew you had enough sense to agree!”
"Have you thought of the effect this will have on Arwen?"
In the flat, Ffion asks Jinx, “Have you thought of the effect this will have on Arwen?   Is dragging her through the courts what you want?   I thought we’d agreed she needs stability.”   Jinx insists that he can offer her that.
"But I'm her mother!"
“But I’m her mother!   I’ve given that little girl everything!   I pay the bills and bring wages in each month.”
“And hit the bottle every time something goes wrong!” snarls Jinx,
Jinx again raises Ffion's drinking
and as Gethin comes in, he continues, “Do you want me to check behind the cupboard in the bathroom, under your bed, and where was your other favourite place?   Yes, your handbag!”
He tells Gethin, “The Vodka in her water bottle helped her face the kids at school.   Good luck, Geth, you’ve got all this ahead of you!   All the games, the lying – don’t believe a word she says.”
"You're no angel, either!"
Ffion points out, “You’re no angel either;  if Sabrina hadn’t saved you, you’d be in a doorway, snorting drugs!”
"Throwing accusations won't help!"
Gethin tells them that throwing accusations around will not help, and stresses to Ffion, “I’m not leaving you!”
Jinx laughs, “Arguing already?   That’s great news for Arwen!   You’re not fit to bring her up.”
Ffion emphasises that she and Gethin are not together any more;  “Please let’s sort this without going through the courts!”
Gethin realises, “So you finished with me because of him?”
Ffion prevent them coming to blows
and Jinx taunts him, “Yes, what are you going to do about it, you little coward?”   With Ffion separating them, they continue to hurl insults;  “No wonder you can’t see your son – you’re a liability, mate!” shouts Jinx.
“At least, I’m a father – not Arwen’s mother’s cousin!” is the response.
Jinx indicates that  Gethin is not right in the head
“I’m going out, and when I come back, you’d better not be here! – you pathetic little dwarf!” says Jinx, as he leaves.
"Don't worry – I'll sort this mess out"
As Ffion wonders what she is going to do, Gethin tries to reassure her;  “Don’t worry – I’ll sort this mess out.”

Garry is not happy that Dean is standing in for Steve
Garry has a visit from Dean (last encountered during the “fake designer handbags” affair) who announces he is standing in for Steve on this latest job.   Garry is not happy about this development, but hands over a key, and issues instructions;
Garry warns him not to touch Dani
“One o’clock at the Black Lion, let Dani take the keys and give her time to get back here.   And, if you so much as touch her . . .”
"Time to go to nursery!"
Ffion tells Arwen they must go, or they will be late;  “You haven’t seen your friends for almost a week.”
"I'm so relieved"
She tells Gethin she is so relieved to have Arwen home.
"The worst is over now"
Gethin replies, “The worst is over now – just give Jinx time to accept we’re together.
“Hywel is letting him stay at the salon – I don’t know what I’d have done without him,” says Ffion, as Gethin grimaces.
Well, Ffion certainly looks happier than of late
However he puts on a brave face as he tells her he is looking forward to spending a lot more time with her and Arwen, “My new family,” and kisses her.
Jinx is given his instructions
At the salon, Hywel briefs Jinx , “As far as the listeners know, you’ve been ill in bed.”
Hywel is concerned when he hears where Sheryl has gone
Then Hywel asks Dani where Sheryl is, and after initial prevarication, she informs him that she is visiting the consultant.   He looks aghast and leaves very rapidly.
Gwyneth continues to impress Jim, at least . . .
When Dai and Jim arrive at APD, they find Gwyneth already there;  “Been here all night?” asks Dai.   She has brought them a chocolate cake, “As a present for making me feel at home here.”
. . . particularly with the chocolate cake
Jim wastes no time in cutting the cake into slices, as he assures her they are happy to have her there.   She tells them she has reorganised the delivery to Coed Mynach, so they will not have to work late.
Oh, she has turned up again!
Then Gemma puts in another appearance, and Dai tells her she cannot keep calling there.   She interrogates Gwyneth;
"Leave me alone, will you?"
“When did you make this cake” but receives the answer, “I’m busy!   Leave me alone, will you?”
"Lovers' tiff!"
Dai remarks to Jim, “Lovers’ tiff!”
Jinx's heart is not in his work
Jinx is on air with CwmFM and announces, rather dejectedly, “Here’s another song to raise your spirits.”
"You have to accept Ffion is with someone else"
Kelly walks in and tells him, “You have to accept that Ffion is with someone else now, and you have to get along with her for the sake of Arwen.   Mam and her boyfriends always argued, and you never know how it will affect a child.”
"She's so unstable and so fragile!"
When Jinx describes Ffion as “so unstable and so fragile,” Kelly suggests that he may be attracted to people like that.   Jinx expects it will only be a matter of time before something else comes to send her off the rails, and Kelly says, “When that happens, she’ll miss you!”
He is not convinced his plan will work
“It’s too late for that now,” Jinx admits, “I’ve come back to get custody of Arwen – that’s the plan anyway, but what judge in his right mind would take me seriously?   Ffion is her Mam, and earns most.”
Kelly tries to encourage him that he can offer Arwen loads more than Ffion can, and tells him, “You have to fight for her!”
Hywel makes a scene at the consultant's
Hywel bursts into the waiting room of the consultant and shouts at Sheryl, “What the hell are you doing here?
"You've come to have an abortion!"
You said you wouldn’t do this – and you’ve come to have an abortion!”   Sheryl attempts to calm him, assuring him she is only there for advice;
"You've no idea how worried I am"
“You never get time to talk to me!   You’ve no idea how worried I am about this child!   I’m not getting younger, and I have to think about Wil.”
“What about me, and the way I feel?” demands Hywel, You want to talk – now’s your chance!”   Sheryl however, insists she is not changing her mind – she wants an abortion.
"I thought you wanted this baby"
Outside, they sit at a table, as hospital staff having a crafty smoke stand around in the background.   Hywel begins, “I thought you wanted this baby, it’s what we both want.”
"Maybe you still have feelings for Ffion!"
Sheryl is doubtful;  “I have no idea what you want.   Maybe Gaynor is right, that you still have feelings for Ffion.   You didn’t take much persuading to go to North Wales, and I tried to phone you I don’t know how many times.”
Hywel replies that Gaynor would like nothing better to split them up, and assures Sheryl that he thinks the world of her.   “I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, and one or two are more than happy to point that out.   This is my opportunity to make up for all I lost.”
"I'm not having this baby to soothe your conscience!"
Sheryl responds angrily, “I’m not having this baby to soothe your conscience;  this is a huge commitment.   Empty promises won’t do – you have to start proving how much we mean to you!”
Dani is given her instructions . . .
In the Deri, Garry gives Dani an envelope,
. . . and a picture of her target
containing a photo of her “target”, and confirms her instructions.   “Are you sure you want to do this?   It’s not too late to change your mind.”
"What could go wrong?"
Dani is insistent that she has done this before, and asks, “What could go wrong?   Look at you – getting soft in your old age!”
Gwyneth is sorting out APD's systems
Gwyneth has sorted all the invoices into categories and made a file listing every contact and supplier.   “All I need is the login and password for the bank accounts,” she says.
"That's confidential!"
“That’s confidential!” shouts Dai, “There’s nothing wrong with the accounts – I know where every penny goes!”
Once again Gemma’s arrival interrupts things;
"What's all this interest in Bank Accounts?"
Dai asks Jim, “What’s all this interest in Bank Accounts?”   When Jim says she is only trying to help, Dai insists, “Help herself and her lady friend!”
Gemma has also infiltrated herself into the photo frame
Meanwhile, Gemma gives Gwyneth a present – a replacement photo frame with a picture of Gwyneth and Gwern, but this time with Gemma as well.
As Gethin is kissing Ffion, Jinx comes in, wanting some documents;
"Don't mind me"
“Don’t mind me, I won’t be long” he says, “It’s just that my solicitor wants them.”
"I intend to apply for custody of Arwen!"
This arouses Ffion’s curiosity, and Jinx explains, “I intend to apply for custody of Arwen.
"What?   You can't!"
She is outraged, and Gethin reckons he has no chance.   As Jinx is about to leave, he tells them, “She’d be safer with me, so I’ll see you in court.”   Fion demands, “Is that why you came back – not for Arwen, but to put yourself first?”
"It went without a hitch"
Dani returns from her job, and leaves a message for Garry that all went well, but as she turns, she gasps, as Dean, her supposed target, is standing behind her.
There is an intruder in her room . . .
“The keys!” he demands, “You heard what I said!”
. . . who grabs her by the throat . . .
He grabs Dani by the throat and forces her into a chair;  “It would be a shame to spoil that pretty face!
. . . and threatens her with violence . . .
Keep your voice down, or I’ll have to hurt you!   I’m sure your husband wouldn’t be happy about that!”   Terrified, she pulls the keys from her bag and gives them to him,
. . . then engages in some wanton destruction
but he grabs the bag and empties its contents, then begins trashing the room.
Garry returns at this point and Dani screams to him;
"I did what you wanted"
he meets the “assailant” at the top of the stairs.   “What have you done to her?” he demands, and Dean confirms he has done only what he was asked to do.   A brown envelope changes hands and Dean leaves;
Not the sort of thing a husband does to his wife!
Garry rushes to the sobbing Dani and assures her that she is safe now.
Sheryl sees a small baby
Sheryl sees a mother with a newborn baby;  “One minute they’re babies, the next they’ve gone,” she laments.
Hywel suggests going to Canada
Hywel suggests that in a couple of months they can go to Canada;  “I’m sure that Wil and Rhys will make good older brothers,” he tells her.
"I don't want someone else raising my child"
She worries about what will happen if she is not there to see the baby grow up, take its first steps, its first day at school.   “I don’t want someone else raising my child!”
"No more of these silly ideas!"
Hywel tells her that they will both be there, and that they have to look to the future;  “No more of these silly ideas!” he says.
Dai finds Gwyneth looking morose in the Deri;
"Is APD driving you to drink?"
“Don’t tell me that APD is driving you to drink?” he comments.   As Gwyneth receives yet another text, she tells him that Gemma is making her life hell.
"I just want to get rid of her!"
“Wherever I go or turn, she’s there.   I just want to get rid of her – she’s there every hour of the day!”
Elsewhere in the Deri, Kelly tells Jinx that Auntie Anita would not mind him moving in with them, but his mind is elsewhere;
"Do I need to prepare anything else?"
“Do I need to prepare anything else for the lawyer?” he asks.
"If Arwen is happy, I'll be happy"
He insists that if Arwen is happy, he will be happy.
Things are in a bit of a mess
As Dani begins clearing up the mess, she tells Garry how the man threatened her;
Dani has been really scared . . .
“If I hadn’t given him the keys, I don’t know what he’d have done!   It all went right at the hotel – he must have followed me home.   It was if he wanted revenge against you and me!   I don’t want to go through anything like that again!”
. . . and does not want to face that again
As Garry continues that he make sure she does not have to face that again, Dani begs, “Promise me we’ll stop this!”
Garry is pleased that his little plan was successful
and of course, Garry does so.
