Diane is about to leave for the Deri, as Dai stresses how much work he has to do.

| "You need not worry, since you've retired" |
Eileen arrives, telling Diane, “I’ve come to discuss business with Dai,” and Dai says that Diane does not have to worry about it, since she has retired. She leaves in a huff.

| "Jim has landed us in this mess" |
Dai rather rudely tells Eileen that APD has been landed in this mess because of Jim, “So it’s your duty as deputy owner’s wife to help out.” Eileen points out that the correct term is, “Co-owner.”

| "You shouldn't have got rid of the cleaning side" |
“As part of my duties as a wife, I have been looking at the accounts, and there’s no doubt that you were too hasty in getting rid of the cleaning side of APD,” she tells him. He is adamant that he has made his decision, but Eileen replies, “It was a Friday afternoon decision – you’ll have to ask Diane to come back, and quickly!”

| Hywel makes some adjustments |
Hywel is setting up the CwmFM equipment in the Deri, and everyone is wondering where the celebrity guest has got to;

| "I hope he's coming!" |
Siôn is worried about letting down the customers, but Britt is happy that, “Tonight means profit for us two!”

| "I hope you're not the celeb!" |
Colin comes in through the door, and all eyes turn towards the person accompanying him – Diane! Britt comments, “I hope you’re not the celeb!” and Colin assures them that he will be here very soon.

| "Is there any middle ground?" |
Dai asks Eileen if there is any middle ground, “Where Diane can retire and we carry on with the cleaning business?” Eileen advises that he could employ someone to do the work, someone with more interest than Rhys.

| "A youngster on minimum wage!" |
Dai likes this idea; “Employ a youngster on minimum wage, a quarter of what we pay Diane – a win-win situation! Advertise online, see what response we get, then interview.”

| "Go and buy Rhys a drink" |
In the Deri, when Sheryl sees that Rhys has turned up, she urges Hywel to go and buy him a drink,

| "I'm here to support Gaynor!" |
but Rhys refuses the offer, saying “I’m here to support Gaynor.”

| Diane is the first to welcome Tommo . . . |
Just as Gaynor thinks that Colin should announce that his celeb is not coming, in he walks, and is recognised by most of the customers as Tommo, from Radio Cymru’s afternoon programme.

Diane and Anita rush to greet him, and Siôn welcomes him to the village.

| He chats with his old mate, Hywel |
Tommo goes over to see his old mate Hywel, who used to do hospital radio with him, “back in the day”.

| "Who exactly is Tommo?" |
Meanwhile, Gaynor asks Colin, “Exactly who is Tommo?” so he explains, and also tells her his name is like Gazza in football.

| Tommo asks awkward questions |
Tommo asks Hywel, “How’s your family? I heard you got married again.” Hywel flounders for a moment, then introduces his son, Rhys; Sheryl pipes up, “I’m Sheryl!” and Tommo assumes she is “the wife”.

Hywel tells him, “It’s a long story – come and have a pint.”

| "Any burst pipes?" |
Wiliam is again at number 7, and enquires of Iolo, “Anything exciting at work? – burst pipe or something?” Iolo accuses him of “taking the mick”, but Wiliam protests that he was just taking an interest.

| "Are we allowed to take an interest now?" |
“Are we allowed to do that now?” is Iolo’s comment.

| "Keep an eye on that boy" |
Dai sidles up to Hywel in the Deri and warns him, “Keep an eye on that boy and his penchant for schoolgirls – like his father! Does Courtney mean anything to you?”

| "Well, go and speak to Rhys" |
Sheryl instructs Hywel to go and have a word.
After saying he is sorry for this recent business, he asks, “What’s this I hear about you and Courtney?” Rhys tells him that it was nothing, just what Angela thought was going on. “You don’t even like younger girls!

| "Listen to your dad!" |
“Listen to your dad – nothing good ever comes from chasing schoolgirls!”

| Rhys shouts, and everyone looks |
Hywel looks surprised when Rhys gets up and leaves, shouting, “You’re an idiot!” which attracts the attention of the customers.

| Tommo picks the winning ticket . . . |
Siôn announces that it is time to draw the winning raffle ticket, and Tommo pulls out yellow ticket, number 81; Britt squeals with delight, as she has this ticket,

| . . . which is thought by some to be a fix |
but certain of the customers boo and shout that it is a fix. Gaynor asks what the charity is this year, and Siôn, trying to change the subject, says that Britt will give the £50 prize to,

| Siôn says the first thing that comes into his head |
“The charity which all the evening’s profits are going to . . . which is . . . the Maenan Appeal,” the first thing to come into his head.

| Tommo cannot wait for a curry |
Colin suggests to Tommo that they adjourn to Cwm Delhi for a curry, and Gaynor wants to accompany them.

| Hywel receives a hostile reception |
Hywel follows Rhys home, and says, “I didn’t mean it like that!” Rhys accuses him of only thinking about himself, asking, “Do you miss Gaynor?”

| "I didn't mean to hurt her" |
Hywel insists her did not intend to hurt her; “Then why did you do it? How could you throw everything away?” demands Rhys.

| "Go to hell!" |
“We don’t have a relationship any more – you decided to turn your back! Go to hell!”

| "Maenan Appeal?" |
As the party-goers leave, Britt says incredulously, “Maenan Appeal?” Siôn replies that he had no choice, and that it is good PR for the Deri. Britt however is unimpressed; “How do you put PR in the bank?”

At Cwm Delhi, Gaynor and Colin are waiting for the arrival of Tommo, but are not happy when he brings Hywel with him.

Colin explains that Gaynor is Hywel’s ex-wife (not quite), “And Gaynor and me are definitely ex!”

Hywel feels the odd man out as Gaynor cosies up to her new man friend; he comments, “You usually drink wine with your meal,” but she replies, “I don’t have to be usual any more, do I, Colin?” Colin and Tommo go upstairs to the toilet, “To let the horse out of the stable,” being Colin’s euphemism.

Hywel tells Gaynor that he is worried about her, but she insists, “I’m fine, just trying to move on.”

Iolo does not want to sit down with Wiliam; “I shall just have to tell you what happened,” Wiliam tells him, “I preferred you being nosy to this silent treatment. I was embarrassed that it affected me so much.

“An old guy’s neighbours in Tre Ioan were worried that they hadn’t seen him for a while, and when I broke in, he had been dead for a fortnight, sitting in his chair in front of the television. We haven’t found any family so far, and that’s why I have been acting oddly the last few days. What if it happens to me?”

Iolo assures him that he has Non and Eryl, and Wiliam in turn tells him that he would not be alone; “I’ll be there for you, if you want me.”

Gaynor is rather drunk by the time Colin has walked her home. She invites him to stay for a nightcap, but he tells her she should go to bed.

“That sounds exactly like you did twenty years ago – forceful,” she says, and continues, “We’re both adults, both single!”

When he refuses her drunken advances, she moans, “Are you turning me down?”

Rhys comes downstairs for a bottle of water, Colin wishes them goodnight, and Gaynor admits she has had too much to drink.

Tommo has to get back for tomorrow’s programme, and leaves Hywel, who has also overindulged, at Sheryl’s door; she is not pleased to see his inebriated state.
