29 January 2015

Debbie is becoming rather short-tempered
Debbie has been making phone calls, with no success, while Mark has fared no better;
"You want to use the internet, Dad"
Ricky, at home from school with a sore throat, offers to help with some internet research.
Ricky gets to work on the laptop
“Old people are rubbish at that,” he states, so Mark passes the laptop to him.
Dani gives flowers to Sheryl
Sheryl arrives at the chip shop flat, and Dani presents her with flowers,
"I shouldn't have treated a friend like that!"
apologising for thinking she was having an affair with Garry.   Sheryl says that Dani did her a favour;  “I’ve finished with Hywel – it was a stupid idea from the start!”
Ricky has found a promising website
Ricky has found a Pobol Patagonia Caerdydd website;  he transfers a photo of Gabriella from Mark’s phone to the laptop, while Mark admires his computer prowess.
“Why did she leave so quickly?” asks Ricky, and Mark replies that she was not “getting along” with some people;  “No-one that you’d know,” he adds.
"Is Mam anything to do with this?"
Ricky continues, “Is Mam anything to do with this?   I’m not stupid, Dad.”   Mark argues that it is not that simple, but now Ricky can see why she does not want to be found.   Then a message tone sounds from the laptop;
Good news — a hostel in Cardiff
“Someone says they think they know where she is – a hostel in Cardiff!”   Ricky insists that he should accompany Mark to tell Debbie.
A doughnut for Gwern
In the café, Dani is buying a doughnut for Gwern when Ricky rushes in with the news that they may have found Gabriella.
"You're the reason she left!"
“What did you do, Mam?   You’re the reason she left!”   Debbie promises to bring her back, leaves the café in Gwen’s hands and, with Mark, heads up the M4.
In the Deri, Dani notices Gwyneth and Gemma looking friendly towards each other,
Hywel emphasises how sincere he is
then Hywel comes in and starts talking to Sheryl.   “I didn’t start this relationship on a whim,” he tells her, “And I don’t regret it.”
"The company is better in the café"
Dani takes Sheryl’s arm and propels her out of the pub, saying “We’ll go to the café – the company’s better there!”
Mark has tracked down Gabriella . . .
Mark enters the hostel, and Gabriella is overjoyed to see him, but this changes suddenly when she spies Debbie.
. . . but she is not pleased to see Debbie
“Is this a trap?” she asks, but Debbie tries to convince her that she has not been reported to the authorities;  “I just wanted to scare you.”
"Why should I believe you?"
Gabriella is sceptical;  “Why should I believe you?   You threatened me and didn’t want me there from the start!   All I wanted was to see my father.”   Debbie says that she was jealous of Gabriella taking up all the time that Meic had left;  “It was hard for me, him wanting to be with you,” says Debbie.
"I lost Meic twice"
“I couldn’t believe how happy I was with Meic, then the cancer came and he finished with me.   You came, and I lost him again!”
"Will you come home with us?"
Mark reassures Gabriella that Meic is fine, but has deteriorated, and pleads with her to come home with them.
Dani arrives to collect Gwern
When Dani gets to Gwyneth’s to collect Gwern, he is said to be upstairs “in the jungle,” and that Gwyneth is not allowed up there or the lions will hear her, but the doughnut might tempt him down.
Dani mentions Gemma and warns Gwyneth to stay away from her;  she replies that Ed has told her about Gemma’s problems, but Dani says there is more that Ed knows nothing about.
"Remember that CnocCnoc business?"
“Remember that CnocCnoc business a while ago?   About the abortion?”
“The things you accused me of posting?” taunts Gwyneth.   Dani continues, “It was Gemma – she is dangerous!   It was all planned, as she had two mobiles, so she could hide the fact it was her.”
"I'm old enough to look after myself!"
Gwyneth states, “I’m old enough to look after myself!”
Meic and Sheryl enjoy tea and biscuits
Sheryl goes to visit Meic, taking him a tin of biscuits, and he shows her the four-page letter he has had from Wil.   He is grateful to Jinx and Kelly for carrying on with his film, describing Jinx as, “A loyal guy.”
"There are not many of those around"
“There are not many of those around,” comments Sheryl, and reveals that she has been seeing someone, but has now finished it.
Meic knows about Hywel
“I’m sure he wasn’t happy about that,” says Meic, “Hywel, I mean.   A while ago Gabriella and I went to a hotel, and I saw Hywel there.   Then I caught a glimpse of you outside as well – I’m not stupid!”
Sheryl pleads, “What do you do when something feels so right, but you know it’s wrong?”   Meic’s opinion is if it is what both she and Hywel want, maybe they should go for it, but be open about it.   “If Hywel is having an affair, it means there’s something wrong with his marriage – maybe he should be with you.   Ask yourself, is it all worth it?”
Sure enough, Gemma has two phones
Gwyneth arrives in Gemma’s workshop and notices two mobile phones on top of her bag;  she then invites Gemma to dinner, as Gwern is at Garry’s.
Sheryl is just going . . .
Just as Sheryl is leaving the hospice, Debbie arrives and Meic flies into a rage;
. . . when Meic sees Debbie, he exclaims "Nefi wen!"
Nefi wen!   I told you I didn’t want to see you again!”
Sheryl leaves as Meic hugs Gabriella
He is overjoyed when Gabriella appears, and tells him that Mark and Debbie found her and brought her back.   But Meic’s attitude to Debbie does not soften and he orders her out.
"You should be ashamed!"
Mark is furious about this;  “You should be ashamed!   This illness doesn’t just affect you – you dumped Deb just like that, and she’s still hurt!   You need to hear the truth!”
"I'm so happy to have you back!"
Then Meic turns to Gabriella and hugs her again;  “A lot of what he says is the truth.   I’m so happy to have you back.”
Debbie reveals things are far from all right
Debbie arrives back at the café flat and tells Ricky that they have reunited Gabriella with Meic, but things are still not all right.
Dani notices Gemma going into Gwyneth's house
Dani is just about to walk round the corner by the chippy, when she sees Gwyneth and Gemma, laughing and joking, go into Gwyneth’s house.

Sheryl arrives at CwmFM
Hywel is clearing up at CwmFM when he is aware of Sheryl, standing in the doorway.
"I want you back!"
“I want you back – there no point in crying over something I can’t change!”   Hywel checks outside the door that there is no-one around,
What happens next is left to the reader's imagination . . .
and Sheryl puts down her bag, by the photo of Hywel and Gaynor.

27 January 2015

How did this enterprise come to the notice of a national magazine?
On her laptop, Gwyneth has found a reference to their venture in a national magazine;  “Check out this clever duo from Wales for some quirky handmade vintage clothes,” she reads, in English.
"What are you doing here?"
Sioned hears a noise, and discovers Gemma has come to check if her stuff is still in the business unit.   Ed comes in, pleased to have found her;  he takes her back to the flat,
"Shut up, will you?"
and when Sioned protests, he shouts, “Shut up, will you!”
"She's dangerous"
Sioned tells Gwyneth, “I don’t know why she came back – she knows she’s not welcome here, and she’s dangerous!”
"What do you mean?"
She will not elaborate when Gwyneth asks what she means.
"You may soon be a big sister!"
As Jinx puts on Arwen’s shoes, he tells her she may soon be a “big sister,” as Kelly said the interview went very well.
Gethin and Ffion get down to it . . .
Then Gethin arrives, ostensibly for Ffion to check the Welsh in his award application;  as soon as Jinx leaves with Arwen, they kiss,
. . . but have a serious problem
but are rudely interrupted when he returns to collect a file.
"You're too good for him"
Gethin tells Ffion that Jinx is kidding himself if he thinks adopting a child will sort everything out;  “You’re too good for him!” he insists, but Ffion has to leave for work.
"All these PPI texts!"
As Ffion calls at the salon to book a manicure, Sheryl has two texts in quick succession;  Ffion does not believe her when she says they are “PPI messages”.
"He doesn't know the meaning of the word 'no'!"
Sheryl admits, “He doesn’t know the meaning of the word ‘no!”   Ffion warns her that he has always been stubborn and does not think of anyone but himself.   She adds, as she leaves,
"Now, if Gaynor were to find out . . ."
“He’d soon come to his senses if Gaynor found out!”
The building work has a way to go yet
At Llwyncelyn, the building work is far from finished, and Diane arrives to invite Hywel and Gaynor to “drinks and nibbles” this afternoon to celebrate the completion of their work.
"Has she replied to my text yet?"
While Diane and Gaynor talk, Hywel sneaks a look at his phone.
Ed explains to Gwyneth . . .
Gwyneth goes to the Deri flat to find out what is “dangerous” about Gemma;  Ed tells her a rather abridged version of what happened before Gemma left.
. . . but an eavesdropper is outside . . .
“She accidentally stabbed . . .” but at that point, Gemma, who had been listening outside the door, bursts in.
. . . who dashes in and protests
She shouts, “You don’t believe that it was an accident – you think I’m a psycho!” and rushes out.
Just settling down with a pint
Down in the bar, Dai, Jim and Eifion are settling down for a lunchtime pint when Diane comes in, ordering Dai to come home and help her with the party preparations.
Diane agrees that Gemma can have her unit back
Gwyneth asks her if she would agree to Gemma returning to the business units, and Diane is sympathetic, providing she pays her rent.
They laugh at poor old hen-pecked Dai
Then Dai is dragged off home, as Jim and Eifion laugh at him.
Good news for Gemma that she can come back
Sioned is furious when she is told Gemma is coming back to her unit.
"Did you get what you wanted from Ffion"— oh, yes!
Jinx goes to the Deri, where he sees Gethin at the bar, and asks, “Did you get what you wanted from Ffion?   Did you know that Gemma’s back?   Of course there’s no sign of Andrew, and Ed will have to clear up the mess again.”
"Looking after someone else's child"
Gethin raises the subject of adoption;  “It’s a big responsibility, looking after someone else’s child.”   Jinx replies that he would love another child just the same, in fact he is looking forward to it.   “We would be a proper family then,” he insists.
"Some people would be happy with them!" (meaning me!)
“Aren’t Ffion and Arwen a proper family?   Some people would be happy with them,” says Gethin.
Diane and Gaynor attempt to score points
At Bryntirion, the two rooms, linked by a large arch, are full of people eating and drinking.   Diane and Gaynor are bitching about the relative merits of their alterations, and Dai explains there is a lot of skill involved in creating an arch.
"When she sees this photo of me, she'll be putty in my hands!"
Meanwhile, Hywel holds up his phone to take a “selfie” and then is seen texting.
Sioned is furious about Gemma . . .
Ed explains to Sioned that Gwyneth now knows about the stabbing, but she has had enough;
. . . and composes a text to Andrew
“I’m texting Andrew to tell him to come and get her – why should we deal with the mess?”
"I wouldn't want me around, either"
In the business unit, Gemma admits to Gwyneth, “I wouldn’t want me around, either,”
"Hang on, it's not this phone . . ."
then hears the text tone on her phone, which she takes from her bag,
". . . it must be this one . . ."
finds it is not that one, but another.   As Gwyneth watches, she reads the message,
". . . and it's from Sioned!"
“Please come and fetch your daughter now!   She’s off her head. Sioned.”
Personal message from Jinx on CwmFM
Ffion arrives at the salon for her manicure, and stresses to Sheryl she was not interfering earlier, only warning her.   The she hears Jinx’s voice on the radio, “Arwen and Ffion, hope you don’t miss me too much.”
Sheryl comments, “He thinks the world of you.
"By the way, I've finished with Hywel"
By the way, I’ve finished with Hywel – affairs are not proper relationships.”
Gaynor flashes that ring again"
At Diane’s party, Gaynor shows off her ring, but Eifion says, “Angela doesn’t need a ring to know how much I think of her.”   Hywel complains that the mobile reception is bad, and he is expecting a message about work, so excuses himself.
I don't know about papering – the plastering looks pretty suspect!
Eifion boasts about the quality of his papering, and, right on cue, some of the paper peels off the ceiling, showering Diane with plaster.   This occasions some fury from Dai.
"How dare you not answer my texts?"
Ffion’s manicure is over when Hywel makes an appearance;  “Why aren’t you answering my texts?” he demands.   Sheryl asks him,
"You're afraid I'll tell your wife!"
“Are you leaving Gaynor?   Of course not, you’re too scared!   She might be glad to get rid of you – maybe I should ask her.   That’s what all the texts and calls are about – you’re afraid I’ll tell your wife.
"Go away, Hywel!"
Ffion was right about you, you only care about yourself.   Go away, Hywel!”
Ffion is not so eager to get into bed today
Ffion visits number 7 again, but this time she stops Gethin when he tries to kiss her.   “No – I can’t do this any more, it’s not right!   I’ve deceived Jinx enough, he doesn’t deserve this.   Jinx and Arwen keep me sane.”
"You and me are not enough either"
Gethin asks if that is enough, and she replies, “No, it’s not enough, but you and me are not enough either.   We deserve better than a sordid affair.”
Gethin begs her, “Leave him and come and live with me – I want to be with you!”

"I can't, I'm not strong enough!"
“I can’t, I’m not strong enough!” replies Ffion, and walks out of the house,
Gethin's hopes are dashed
leaving Gethin distraught.
