At Llwyncelyn, a visitor arrives to see Gaynor, an old friend from college days, Gareth; he did some work on the school extension, and Gaynor wants him to quote for the work at Llwyncelyn.

Outside APD, Anita tells Diane she is determined to stop Meic visiting Kevin,

but Diane warns she cannot stop Meic saying goodbye to his son.

| Meic insists that he is going |
As Meic walks along the street, Anita tries to change his mind, but he emphasises that John is taking him in a taxi. “I’ve never met anyone as stubborn as you,” says Anita, and Meic replies, “I have – and I’m marrying her tomorrow!”

He gets in the taxi and leaves.

| Jim is disappointed they have no lambs yet |
As Jim complains that no lambs have been born yet, DJ is hatching a plan to get rid of the large quantities of meat in the freezer.

| Jim likes the sound of a special meal . . . |
Cadno warns Jim that when lambing starts, he will be too tired to do anything, and DJ says he will cook them a special meal. Jim, who should be at Bryntirion, sits down and relaxes with the Western Post;

“Give me a shout when lunch is ready,” he says.

| Anita receives good news from Katie |
In the café, Anita speaks to Katie on the phone, and tells Diane that she is back home from hospital. Anita has not booked with Sheryl as she is keeping the wedding secret, but Diane insists she must look her best.

| Hywel says Gaynor is obsessing about this building work |
When Hywel comes in, he tells them, “Sir Norman Foster was busy, so Gaynor is looking for quotes!” Diane boasts that the work at Bryntirion is almost complete; “After a slight technical hitch, Jim and Eifion are working on it.”

DJ serves the meal, and Jim comments, “Why spoil it with this pansy?”

Cadno thinks it looks like Masterchef, and is delighted with the food. Even Jim is impressed; “You’re wasting your talents mucking out sheds!” he enthuses.

| . . . but do not like DJ's "pop-up restaurant" idea |
However, when DJ announces his idea, to have a “pop-up restaurant” at Penrhewl, they are not very keen, speaking of the extra work involved. When DJ suggests charging £20 per head, Jim remarks, “I don’t spend that much on a birthday present for Eileen!” and adds, “This is a farm we run here – not a shop!”

It is visiting time at Cardiff Prison, and Meic arrives to see Kevin.

| He greets his father warmly |
At first all is friendly, with Meic informing him that he is back with Anita, and they are getting married tomorrow. Kevin says, “It didn’t work with Debbie, then? It’s a shame you messed with her at all!

| "I'm glad you and Mrs P are getting married again!" |
“I’m glad you and Mrs P are getting married again.”
He tells Meic he is counting the days until he gets out, but he does not know where he will go – there is nothing in Cwmderi for him now, “Apart from you,” he adds.

Noticing Meic’s expression, he asks, “What’s wrong, father?” When Meic has told him the bad news, Kevin regrets that he has missed his father’s last few months. “If you hadn’t insisted I must be punished, I wouldn’t be in here! Do you regret it?”

Meic answers, “As much as you regret raping Sheryl!”

Kevin continues, “You expect me to forgive you for all you’ve done, and pretend that all is well? Bury the past before we bury you?”

Then comes the announcement that visiting time is over, and Meic stands up, telling Kevin, “I think the world of you, Kevin, I love you. Goodbye.” As the barred door is closed behind Meic, Kevin shouts, “Dad, I didn’t mean it!”

Meic turns to look at him, then walks off down the corridor.

| The old friends have a not very satisfactory meal |
As Gaynor and her friend Gareth eat a meal in the Deri, she complains that food is cold,

and tells Ows that standards are slipping lately.

| "We have had a few complaints lately" |
He replies, “We have had a few complaints lately,” and Gaynor suggests that Britt should get DJ back in the kitchen.
Cadno, sitting nearby, tells her that DJ already has a job, but is worried that he might be offered the chef’s job.

Hywel enters, and sees Gaynor again fawning over Gareth; she tells him, “Gareth persuaded me not to bother with those doors.”

| "How much? £3,300?" |
When Gareth has gone, Hywel takes a look at the quote, and is staggered; “£3,300? He’s an expert on what? Being a creep?”

| Diane gives a rough estimate of £2,000 |
He sees Diane outside APD and asks for a rough estimate of what the job would cost, and receives the answer, “About £2,000.”

| Cadno runs the idea past Diane, who is enthusiastic |
Cadno mentions the “pop-up restaurant” to Diane, who thinks it is a good idea, as DJ is such a good chef. Cadno reveals that Jim was impressed by the meal they had at Penrhewl; “He’s been there all morning,” she says.

This displeases Diane, as it means that Eifion has been unsupervised at Bryntirion; she marches into APD to confront Jim.

Back at Penrhewl, Cadno gives DJ the go-ahead for his plan, and advises him not to let Eileen know, or she will take over everything.

| "Your friend is fleecing you! It should only cost £2,000!" |
Hywel storms home, and shouts at Gaynor that she is being fleeced by her so-called friend.

Gaynor replies that he uses superior imported materials, and reminds Hywel what happened at Bryntirion, when a local firm got involved with the works.
Hywel retorts, “He knows you’re a sentimental friend who earns too much! But if you want to make a fool of yourself, carry on!”

Anita is worrying about Meic, but he returns safely, telling her that Kevin sends his regards, and everything is well with their relationship. Then he goes upstairs for a lie-down, so that he will be ready for tomorrow.

Once out of sight on the stairs, his face falls and he looks totally depressed.
