As Iolo arrives home, Wiliam says he has to go to work, as there has been a case of arson in Llanarthur, where two people have died. Iolo complains that he hardly sees Wiliam these days,

and Wiliam presents him with tickets for a flight to Paris tomorrow. “You know I can’t go under the circumstances,” says Iolo, regretfully, but Wiliam answers that Britt could be in the same condition for a while, and there is nothing he can do by staying here.

Siôn goes to thank Ffion for looking after the children; Gethin is out with Daniel, buying a new bike. Chester walks in and asks after Britt;

“The police want to talk to me again,” he says, and Siôn assures him that everything will be OK.

As Gwyneth posts a letter, Garry comes round the corner with Gwern and gives her a birthday present from the two of them;

“So you’re using Gwern to get me to forgive you?” she says. He asks what she is doing to celebrate her birthday, but she is in no mood for celebration.
“Gwern and Dani were supposed to be making a cake . . .” he tells her, and she relents, offering him some sandwiches and Christmas leftovers, if he comes over at four.

Wiliam is surprised to see Siôn arriving at the police station; he wants to speak to DS Davies, but she is away on the Llanarthur arson case. He tells Wiliam, “I’ve got important information about the shooting in the chapel – I have to speak to her before she drags Chester in again. Can I give you a statement to get it over with?”

Wiliam cannot take a formal statement as he is a witness in the case, but Siôn is insistent; “She is blaming Chester, but he is nothing to do with it! I was hiding the gun for Garry!” Wiliam is astonished as he continues,

“He owed a bloke a favour – I don’t know his name, but I’d recognise him if I saw him again. He was in the chapel the other day – you may have seen him. A tall bloke with a spider’s web tattoo on his hand.”

At this Wiliam looks very concerned; “I can’t take an official statement, but it would save time if I wrote a report for DS Davies.” He directs Siôn to an interview room,

“Did you have anything to do with the shooting at the chapel? Siôn, the husband of the woman who was shot, is here to confess everything. You’d better disappear before the DS comes in!”

Craig, who is hanging around by the chippy, replies, “I’m not going anywhere – I’ve got a big job on.”

| Wiliam warns him off |
Wiliam suggests he may have been caught on mobile phone footage, but he asks, “Doing what? Going to the chapel? Nobody’s ever been arrested for doing that. Don’t let him talk to anyone, until I’ve sorted something.”

Cadno is at Gwyneth’s unit in the Antur, wanting her dress altered, for the party tomorrow to celebrate DJ’s release from prison. Gwyneth tells her, “I’m 21 again, but I don’t feel like celebrating.”

Cadno invites her over to Penrhewl, as Gwern would like that and there is plenty of food.

| Garry finds he has an intruder |
Garry walks into his flat and finds Craig there, having sorted through the family photos.

“Did you know your brother-in-law is telling the pigs everything? He’s over there now, grassing us all up!

| Craig shows an unhealthy interest in the children |
“Where are the children? I’ve been over to his house, and it’s empty!”
Garry is furious; “You’re not going to touch his family!” Craig concludes he will have to go after Garry’s son instead.

“Where is he? With the lesbian? I know where she lives!”

| "Touch him, and I'll kill you!" |
Garry threatens that if Craig touches Gwern, he will kill him.

Menacingly, Craig demands, “Then what will you do? You’ll have a body to hide, and far worse people than me will be after you! Just tell me where the kids are – I’m not going to hurt them, just frighten Siôn.”

As he helps himself to a bottle from the fridge, he adds, “You don’t want to go down for this either, do you?”

After consideration, Garry gives him a photo of Iolo, telling him, “This is Siôn’s son – he would do anything for him.”

Iolo is doing the ironing when the phone rings; someone wants a plumbing job done, and is willing to pay triple the usual rate, so Iolo takes the address – 17 Nant y Lywnog, Llanarthur.

Garry watches the other end of this phone call, and warns Craig, “Don’t hurt him – he’s nothing to do with this.” Craig reminds him he does not want people finding out how dirty his hands are,

and he takes the children’s photos as ‘Plan B’.

| "Gwyneth, get Gwern out of the village!" |
Immediately he has gone, Garry rings Gwyneth and orders her to take Gwern and get out of the village. “Leave the house, drive somewhere, and wait until I contact you! Please, Gwyneth! Just do it!”

Gwyneth takes Gwern to the farm where he can play with Cadno’s boys; Cadno admits she has been worried on her own since the shooting.

Siôn tells Wiliam that he accepted the money from Garry and would pay it back in instalments; “But that was not good enough for Garry!”

| "No good will come of this confession!" |
Wiliam issues a stern warning; “I’m going to be honest with you – no good will come of this confession! You’ll go to prison, and then what will happen to the children?”

| "I won't let Chester be locked up!" |
Siôn protests that he will not let Chester go to a Young Offenders’ Institution, but Wiliam maintains Chester will not be charged, as there are twenty witness statements saying he thought the gun was a fake. “I suggest you go home and that we forget all about this!”
As Siôn protests that he has just admitted a serious crime,

Wiliam receives a text; ‘The Minister’s son is coming over for lunch,’ with a picture of Iolo. “He’s got Iolo!” exclaims Wiliam, “Craig, the bloke in the chapel!” Siôn is puzzled how Wiliam knows him.

Meanwhile, Iolo is struggling to free himself from his bonds in a dark place.

Wiliam’s red car pulls up by Garry’s flat, and Siôn gets out, desperately trying to contact Garry on his mobile. He hammers on the door, to no avail;

“If anything happens to Iolo, I’m going to drag you down deeper than any of us!” he promises Wiliam, “Does Iolo know you mix with these kinds of people?”
Wiliam replies that he is doing what he needs to do to further his career; “I’m not friends with Craig – we just share information.

Then he has a phone call and advises Siôn that Craig is waiting for them at Y Felin.

Siôn tells Wiliam to call DS Davies to catch him there, but he warns that then he will never see Iolo again.

As the car drives away, Garry is watching from his flat window.

When they reach Y Felin, Craig is making himself at home, with a drink and listening to music;

Siôn has little choice if he wants Iolo back, so he promises, “I give you my word, I’ll never tell the police about this, not a word about you, Garry or the gun! Please take me to Iolo!”
“If you change your mind, this lot won’t be safe, even with me in jail,”

Craig assures him, as he picks up the photos. As he leaves, he comments,

Siôn turns on Wiliam, “After today, I don’t want you to have anything to do with my son!”
