At Maes-y-Deri, Dol and Vicky are singing, tunelessly, ‘Hark the herald-angels sing,’ while Debbie apologises to Mark.

“I didn’t know she’d turn up! Vicky wants her to stay for the week!”
Mark will not entertain this idea, as he prepares the sprouts, and tells Debbie that the smell of sprouts reminds him of his dad, Dyff.

He quotes his father; “You need two things for a happy Christmas – sprouts, and your family around you!” then agrees reluctantly that Dol can stay. “But I’m taking her straight back if she plays up, OK?”

As Hywel and Rhys walk along the street, they meet Sheryl; Hywel goes with her into the salon.

Dai demands how he knows about the flowers, and Diane suspects that something is going on.
Sara urges Jason to tell them; he says,

“This was meant to be a joke. Mam, you’ve been in touch with a company about leasing a site at Yr Antur – have you ever met anyone from this company? Would you like to meet them?”

Sara is keen to put an end to this and announces, “Jason and I are Awyr Iach!”

This infuriates Diane who informs them that they have caused no end of damage, with Dai about to start divorce proceedings.
Dai is concerned about the ‘LOL’ – ‘Lots Of Love’,

but it is pointed out to him that it actually means ‘Laugh Out Loud’.

He opens a drawer, gets out a small box and tells Diane, “I got this a while before all this trouble began,”

and places a ring on Diane’s finger. She is quite overcome, but he concedes, “There is a funny side to this – you wasted your best flirting technique on your own son!”

Siôn checks on the chest where he put the gun, and it has now gone; a load is lifted from his mind, and when Britt comes in, he tells her,

“I was just thinking about the future. We’ve sacrificed a lot for this chapel, but I have a feeling that everything will be all right from now on! Thanks for your support – I’d be lost without you.”

Hywel apologises for not being able to cope;

Sheryl surprises him by saying, “Vicky knows, and all the Joneses. I had to tell them because of my guilt, but they don’t know you were involved.” He wonders how the two of them managed to get to this point, and Sheryl is at a loss to know how they are going to get back again.

In the vestry, Siôn pleads with Chester not to do anything to wreck all their hard work today; Chester is as usual playing a computer game, this time a hand-held one,

“You can play with this,” he says, brandishing the gun, “But not until I get that.”

Siôn opens the door and apologises for the delay, as one of the angels has been sick over her wings. The congregation files into Bethania, as Anita directs the children from the vestry.
Courtney remarks to Chester, “Are you going to help at all?”

He draws the gun, points it at her and orders her to freeze. He assures her that it is not real, and then she wants her turn; she points it at his head,

snarls uncharacteristically, “Say your prayers!” and tries to pull the trigger, but it appears to be stuck. She hurries into the chapel, tossing the gun back to Chester

| "There's nothing left for you in Cwmderi" |
Sheryl asks Hywel, “What do you intend to do now? Why have you come back? There’s nothing left for you in Cwmderi.”

He emphasises that she is in Cwmderi, and that he will go and confess to the Joneses that he was involved, to prove that he is serious about her.
“I can’t cope with grieving on my own – I can’t face Christmas alone, so I have an offer for you,” says Sheryl,

“You haven’t got a home, and I need company, so will you stay? I just want to take it slowly.” He is pleased to agree to her request.

Most of the people of Cwmderi are in the chapel, including one man conspicuously wearing his hat.
Garry and Dani arrive late, and Garry is somewhat disturbed to find, when the hat is removed,

Siôn welcomes the congregation, as Hywel and Sheryl come in; “We’re giving the children the chance to tell the story, instead of me preaching it,” says Siôn,

as Chester makes snoring sounds from the back. “Chester is my personal alarm, warning me not to talk too much,” Siôn explains.

Craig whispers, “It wasn’t there! This is what’s going to happen . . .” but before he can say more, he is hushed by members of the congregation.

Craig mouths the word, “Outside!” He and Garry make their way out of the chapel.
Courtney reads, “The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them.”

At Bryntirion, Dai is feeling rather uncomfortable, suffering with the wind; “I shouldn’t have eaten a box of dates for my breakfast!” he explains. He does not feel up to accompanying Diane to the Deri, and Jason wants to stay and look after him.

“I can’t imagine anything worse than smiling like an idiot and talking about sun and snakes,” he tells Diane, “I’ll be safe here with Dai.”

Diane is in a much better humour than of late; “It’s nice to have you back, Jason! It’s even nicer to have Dai back!”

Craig stands over Garry as he searches in the gun’s hiding place; “Siôn must have panicked, and put it in a safer place.”

Craig is losing patience and threatens Garry; “You know how this is going to end – we’re not going to lay a finger on you!” Garry urges him not to involve Dani, but he continues,

Garry grabs him,

but is subdued when Craig produces a large and vicious-looking knife, which is waved near his face. “Now do you remember where it is?”

and Siôn announces there will be presents for all the children. He invites the adults to the vestry for sherry and mince pies.

Two burly henchman join Craig, and he describes them to Garry as ‘babysitters’.

Sioned is enraged, Eifion tells Chester to grow up, and Siôn rushes across the room, demanding the gun.

“Find your own toy!” answers Chester, and continues to wave the weapon around.

Craig witnesses this with a look of horror, tells Garry, “You’re on your own!” and makes a rapid exit with his fellow thugs. Garry sees the gun, hurls himself across the room and tries to wrestle it from Chester.

In the confusion there is the sound of a shot, and Britt falls to the floor.

The assembled villagers look on in abject horror, as Wiliam checks for a pulse and orders Garry, “Call an ambulance!”
