Chester complains about "The Grinch"
Chester is on the phone to Uncle Garry, complaining about ‘The Grinch’, apparently what he calls Siôn.   “That’s the sort of Christmas I’ll have here!”   Garry replies that if it gets too much, he is welcome at the flat.
Siôn reminds Chester that he has an essay to finish, then there is a knock at the door;
"Package for Mr White"
a package is delivered,
"How can you afford that?"
which Chester announces is for him.   When Siôn sees that it is a new phone (iPhone?) he wonders how Chester could afford it.   “I put it on your credit card – Mam said I could have what I wanted!” he replies.
Dai looks askance at Garry . . .
Garry is at APD, where Dai eyes him suspiciously;  “A company called Awyr Iach wanted to buy this place, but someone stole our buyer – just like that!   It’s the sort of thing you’d do, isn’t it?
. . . supecting he is involved with the abortive deal
“You’re like some ‘Don-Garry-Leone’ about the place, building your empire.   Garage, Chip Shop, I bet you’ve got a stake in the Deri too!”
Garry, who is showing some amusement at this tirade, replies,
"My only stake is a Rump Steak!"
“The only stake I have got in the Deri is a Rump Steak!   Can I pay, so that I can get back to building my empire?”   Dai continues to threaten legal action as Garry leaves.
"You can't accuse people like that!"
Diane protests that he cannot go round accusing every Tom, Dick or Harry.
Diane reveals her involvement . . .
Jim considers they should sue whoever took away their buyer, but Diane points out, “Awyr Iach are moving into the business units.   Anita stole your buyer, and did it with my blessing, so no more talk about suing!”
. . . and they stand there speechless
Dai and Jim stand, lost for words.
"Living off immoral earnings!"
Ed sidles into the salon and warns Dani that he is convinced that Vicky is sleeping with Dewi, their client;  “I admit I didn’t handle things well last week, but if she is, it could mean you going to prison!   Living off immoral earnings!”
Dani is worried
Dani looks concerned.
"£600!   On my credit card!"
When Britt comes home, Siôn explodes, “He spent £600 on my credit card!   This is fraud, as bad as stealing!”   Chester argues that Britt told him he could have what he wanted.
"That phone's going back today!"
Britt, however, has other ideas;  “Right – that phone’s going back today!   I don’t know what came over you, stealing from your family!”
"Siôn's not family!"
Chester of course asserts that Siôn is not family.
Britt's full-volume snarling
“He’s my husband, and he puts a roof over our heads!   You’ve treated Siôn like dirt for months, and it stops now!” Britt rants, with increasing volume.   “Go upstairs and think carefully about the way you’ve  been behaving – and when you’re ready, come down and apologise!   Understand?”
She turns to Siôn and remarks, “Teg would be turning in his grave!”
"Ooh – didn't expect that!"
Siôn is amazed that she took his side for once.
"Coffees for you, boys!"
As Dai and Jim wonder why Diane betrayed them, she comes in, bringing them coffees.
"Stuff your coffee – you're a traitor!"
“Stuff your coffee – you’re a traitor!” Dai tells her, but she insists that in time they will realise she did them a favour.
“They got cold feet when someone messed about with the price,” she adds, but Dai warns her she will not be getting any favours from now on.   He and Jim reconsider their refusal to drink the coffees, though.
"I thomk DJ is being bullied!"
Diane leaves and goes to the Deri, where Gemma tells her she is worried about DJ in prison;  “He wasn’t himself last week, so nervous – I think he’s being bullied.   You hear stories about the things that happen in prison!”
"Dai's going to see him tomorrow"
Diane advises that Dai is going to visit him tomorrow, but Gemma reckons, “Dai is not the most sensitive person in the world!”
Gemma adds,
"After all he's done for Cadno!"
“Cadno won’t even go and see him.   Can you believe that – after all he has done for her?   I mean, buying the illegal gun,”
"It's not about taking sides"
As Britt wraps up the phone, Siôn thanks her for taking his side, but she maintains, “It’s not about taking sides – it’s making sure he learns what’s right.”
"I'm going to live with Uncle Garry!"
Chester comes downstairs and issues an ultimatum;  “If that phone’s going back, then have a nice Christmas, because I won’t be here – I’m going to live with Uncle Garry!   I mean it – I’ve packed and everything.”
"Merry Christmas, Mam!"
As Britt tries to remonstrate with him, he opens the front door, says, “Merry Christmas, Mam!” and leaves.
Garry does not want to buy one
In the Deri, Gemma is trying to sell some of her jewellery in order to buy DJ a present, with little success.
Dani explains they have a problem
In the alcove at the end of the bar, Dani explains to Vicky that they have a problem.   “If someone can prove you slept with him for money, I could get seven years in prison!”
Vicky again insists that it happened when she was off duty, and that she fancied him.   “Ed is the one with a problem!” she alleges,
"Ed's a right slimeball!"
“He behaves like a right slimeball when Dewi’s around – makes me cringe!   But why should we lose a client just because Ed has a problem with him?”
Cadno's placard studio
Cadno is busily painting placards for the school protest when Diane pays her a visit, and advises that Gemma thinks DJ is being bullied in prison.
"He wouldn't be there if it wasn't for you"
“After all, he wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for you – he bought the unlicensed gun to protect your farm and land.”   Cadno is adamant that she is too busy with the protest to go to the prison, so Diane leaves, her parting words being,
"I hope you can live with yourself!"
“I hope you can live with yourself!”
"It's all in black and white – and legit"
Dani shows Ed an e-mailed invitation from Dewi to a formal business dinner at Y Glyndwr on Thursday.   “There, everything’s legit now, Ed,” Vicky tells him.
"I'll get another driver!"
Dani advises Ed to back off, or she will get another driver;  she hopes this has sorted out the matter.
"No, I haven't sold any"
Garry overhears Gemma talking to Vicky, then comes over;
Garry has acquired some Christmas spirit
“Prison is tough enough without spending Christmas inside,” and, in a rare generous gesture, hands over £20 for a bracelet, adding, “Tell him to keep his head down.”
"I'm moving in with you!"

Chester comes in and tells Garry about the phone;  “That’s why I told them I was moving in with you!”
Garry was not expecting that one
This takes Garry by surprise.
"He'll soon be back!"
Siôn is quite sure that Garry and Dani will send him home with his tail between his legs;  “I ran away when I was his age, but got cold feet by the time I reached the bottom of the road.   He doesn’t like listening to anyone in authority.”
"I don't throw my weight about all the time!"
Britt protests, “I’m his mother, but I don’t throw my weight about all the time!   I can’t have you pushing my son away from me.   There’s no way I’m having him living with anyone else.”
Cadno has a production-line going
Cadno has finished her third placard, stops and thinks,
She retrieves the visiting order
then fetches the Visiting Order from the bureau.
On Garry's sofa this time
Chester is in his customary position in front of the TV screen in Garry’s flat when Britt bursts in;
"I've had enough of this nonsense!"
“Come on!   I’ve had enough of this nonsense!”   Chester replies that there is no way he is going back to Y Felin – he does not want to live with Siôn.   Britt appeals to Garry to back her up, but he leads her aside for some advice.
"This is nothing to do with the phone"
“This is nothing to do with the phone,” explains Garry, “They hate each other, and you don’t know why he’s behaving like this, do you?
"Chester's the victim here!"
After you bought the Deri, and all the shenanigans with the chapel money, since then you’ve spent your time trying to sort out Siôn’s mess.   The truth is Chester’s the victim here, not Siôn.
"Your husband or your son?"
It’s about time you considered who means more to you – your husband or your son?”
"Behold, I bring APD glad tidings!"
Jim, with tinsel round his neck, comes in with good tidings for everyone at APD;  “I’ve been to Tomos ac Ellis, and they think they can find us a new buyer before we can say ‘O come all ye faithful’!   We might get a better price than Awyr Iach offered.   Then we can move to Penrhewl and everyone will be happy!”
Almost as an aside, he adds, “But we shall have to discuss rent.   You don’t expect to move to Penrhewl free of charge, do you?”
"You unscrupulous toe-rag!"
Dai is off again;  “You’re just lining your pockets!   You have a vested interest, you unscrupulous toe-rag!”
Diane tells them a thing or two . . .
Diane stops them, explaining that the reason she wanted Awyr Iach to rent the unit instead was to prevent this;  “Every time you see the chance to make money, you go crazy!   I went behind your backs for the right reason – I didn’t want to lose what we have.   We belong here in the village, not stuck in manure at Penrhewl!   Let’s not argue any more – after all, it’s the season of goodwill!”
. . . then produces an acceptable bottle
So saying, she produces a bottle, and Dai appears to approve of her choice.
"He'll be back in the morning"
When Britt arrives home without Chester, Siôn is confidet that he will not be able to stand Dani’s fussing, and will be back in the morning.   Britt tells him bluntly, “He is not willing to come home with me while we’re still under the same roof as you..”
"I've done everything for this family"
Siôn argues that he has done everything for the family, but she reflects, “You’ve done everything for everybody – the whole community!   That’s why you stole the money from the chapel – and look where that left us.   When are you going to stop fooling yourself?   Things have been bad between us for so long,
"We should break up!"
maybe it’s time we faced the truth, and admit that it’s ‘Amen’ on our relationship.   We should break up!”
Siôn's look of stunned amazement
As Britt hurries upstairs, Siôn looks incredulously after her.
