| Sheryl is in a world of her own |
Sheryl sits at the kitchen table, staring into space; she does not acknowledge Hywel when he speaks to her.

| "Why not have a lie down?" |
“Why don’t you go upstairs for a lie down, or lie on the sofa?” he asks.

| "Do you ever hear things?" |
“Do you ever hear things?” says Sheryl, “Last night I heard Meilyr crying.”

| Gaynor pays a fleeting visit |
Gaynor calls, bringing Christmas cards which were delivered to the flat, but Hywel doubts whether she will open them. Gaynor thinks it best to leave.

| "You realise it was a dream, don't you?" |
Sheryl intends to go to work, but Hywel tells her, “You do realise that the crying was a dream, don’t you?” She insists that it sounded so real. He is adamant that she will not go to work today, and that he will go and sort it out with Dani. “It’s you that matters,” he says.
| Cadno has a visiting order |
As Eifion arrives at Penrhewl to take Bobi to nursery, Cadno has received a visiting order from DJ. “We weren’t getting on very well when he went in,” she tells Eifion, “I’m not sure if I’ll go – I can’t just drop everything.”

| "Don't forget what he's in there for!" |
Eifion reminds her, “Don’t forget what he is in there for! The least you can do is visit him!”

| Colin's back is no better |
Colin, still in pain, sits on the sofa at number 7, when, to his surprise, Angela calls.

| Eileen has sent Angela to help with his bath |
“Eileen asked me to come and help you with your bath!” she announces, to the amusement of Iolo and Wiliam. “Seeing Colin’s look of horror, she adds, “I am a nurse!” Turning to Iolo and Wiliam she tells them that it is only to help him get into the bath, and that some privacy is required, so they should go.
“Don’t forget to wash behind his ears! Enjoy yourselves!” says Iolo as they leave.

| Colin is terror-stricken |
“Ready then? Let’s get you up those stairs,” Angela tells Colin, who is looking scared.

| "Meilyr?" |
Alone in the house at Llwyncelyn, Sheryl whispers, “Meilyr?” and looks around;

| She scans the rooms . . . |
she stands up,

| . . . and goes into the hall |
moves into the hall, still clutching the baby monitor, then goes upstairs.

| "I've had a visiting order" |
In the café, Cadno tells Gemma that she has received a visiting order for next week, which rouses Gemma’s jealousy, so she announces that she is on her way to see DJ now.

| "Prison changes a man" |
Gwyneth, sitting nearby, warns Cadno that DJ might be different, as prison changes a man; “Being stuck in a cell is stressful for anyone.”
Cadno asks Gemma to tell DJ that she will not be coming next week; “The farm stops for no-one, even DJ!”

| "You haven't even looked at me" |
When Gwyneth offers to buy her a coffee, Gemma responds, “You haven’t even looked at me since I came out of hospital, let alone talked to me.” Despite Gwyneth admitting she is ashamed of herself, Gemma walks away.

| Hywel finds that Sheryl is leaving |
Hywel returns to Llwyncelyn after having spoken to Dani, and is surprised to find Sheryl packing her bags;

| "He died here!" |
“I can’t stay here – I should have moved out when you and I split up.” Hywel argues that she cannot leave as this was Meilyr’s home, but she replies, “He didn’t live here – he died here!”

| "There's nothing to keep me here any more" |
As they sit on the sofa, she adds, “He’s gone – there’s nothing to keep me here any more.”

Angela, evidently not feeling quite right, stands outside the bathroom door;

| Colin covers his embarrassment |
when she comes in, Colin drapes the flannel to preserve his modesty.

| "This water's getting a bit cold" |
She asks if he is comfortable. “I haven’t been comfortable for days,” he replies, adding that the water is getting rather cold – I’m sure you can see that for yourself!”

| "I'm a bit nervous" |
Angela turns on the hot tap, as Colin comments, “I’m a bit nervous – I haven’t been so . . . intimate . . . with a woman since Tessa.” Angela closes her eyes, and sways a little.

“That was next to a toilet, as it happens!” Colin adds, rather gratuitously.

Angela slowly subsides to the floor, unconscious;

Colin, shocked by this, shouts, “Angela!”

| "Aargh! Help, Angela!" |
and slips down the bath, as the water level inexorably creeps higher.

| Dangerously close to drowning . . . |
Unable to lift himself above the rising water, Colin shouts desperately for help, and in the nick of time,

Iolo comes into the house, hears anguished cries and rushes upstairs.

by the time Iolo hauls him back into a sitting position,

then turns his attention to Angela, lying unresponsive beside the bath.

| "He's giving out visiting orders like sweets" |
Gemma is waiting at the bus stop and tells Gwyneth, “My visits obviously don’t mean much to DJ, as he’s giving out visiting orders like sweets. Why waste one on Cadno?”
Gwyneth replies that she cannot blame him for wanting to see his friends; “He wants to catch up on the farm and the boys.

“Seeing you today will mean the world to him – don’t spoil it! Go there with a smile on your face!” Gemma is glad that they are speaking again.

| "You have to move out of the flat today!" |
Sheryl finds Gaynor in the Deri and bluntly announces, “You have to move out of the flat today! That’s what you want, isn’t it? To be back in Llwyncelyn before Christmas?

| "I can't stay another night in that house!" |
“I can’t stay another night in that house!”
Hywel arrives and pleads with Sheryl not to go; she insists she wants to be on her own.

| "Is that all that matters? What you want?" |
“Is that all that matters?” he demands, “What you want? What you’re feeling? I’m grieving too!” Sheryl walks out, and Gaynor dissuades him from going after her.

“If you really want to help Sheryl now, leave her alone,” Gaynor advises, “If it’s any comfort, you don’t have to move out – stay as long as you need.”

Angela and Colin sit, looking rather stunned, on the sofa, as Wiliam comes in and learns what has happened.

“The water was up to here,” Colin tells him, “I’d have drowned if it wasn’t for Iolo!”
Angela does not want Wiliam to contact the surgery, insisting that the iron tablets for her anaemia are rather slow in taking effect. She requests, “I’d appreciate it if no-one else heard about this.”

DJ is unusually subdued when Gemma visits him,

Gemma turns and angrily tells him, “Very original – is that the best you can do?”

| DJ has a strange request |
DJ asks her a favour; he wants her to send him a copy of Bugeilio’r Gwenith Gwyn (Watching the White Wheat – an 18th century Welsh love song). Gemma finds this request rather strange; “I can’t explain now, but please do as I ask,” says DJ.

| A nasty Irish piece of work |
After the other prisoner, an Irishman, has looked Gemma up and down, and invited DJ to a game of darts, she leaves, promising that she will put it in the post as soon as she can.

| Cadno is about to take Bobi home |
Cadno collects Bobi from Eifion at Angela’s house, then Angela herself returns,

and tells him that she has had a boring day.

| Sheryl's packing is complete |
Sheryl adds the baby monitor to the top of her bag, and when Gaynor arrives with her luggage, prepares to return to the salon flat.

“It’s your home – it was always your home,” says Sheryl, “I’m sure you’re over the moon, being back.”
“Not like this,” sympathises Gaynor, “I think you’re doing the right thing – you might get some peace now.” Hywel offers to carry her bags, but she is insistent on going alone.

“I’ve never been any good with saying goodbye,” Sheryl tells him, “He’ll always be our son, no matter where we are.”

She leaves, alone, and Hywel weeps.
