30 March 2015

Garry has brought Dani home
Garry brings Dani home from hospital, urging her to take it easy;  he tells her that he locked himself out of the flat, so has changed the locks.   Before they can get into the door, Gethin has welcomed her back.
A blatant show of false friendship
Then Gemma appears, hugging Dani and assuring her, “If you want anything, give me a shout – I’m only round the corner;  I’ve moved in with Gwyneth.”
"You didn't tell me she is living with Gwyneth!"
This infuriates Dani;  “You’re living with Gwyneth – and Gwern?” she rages, but Garry, trying to calm her, ushers her inside.
Sioned is keen to talk to Garry
Sioned is also there, anxious to speak to Garry, but Gethin tells her that he is busy at the moment.
Siôn goes on about Iolo's lie
Siôn visits Iolo, trying to convince him that he is concerned for his well-being;  “I just want everyone to be happy,” insists Siôn, “And how long do you think you’ll be happy in a relationship based on lies?”
"Why is this any of your business?"
Iolo asks, “Why is this any of your business?”   Siôn replies, “What if someone else was to tell Wiliam?”   Iolo angrily demands, “Like who?   You?”   Siôn continues preaching,
He is a fine one to talk of "complete honesty"!
“You can’t be truly happy without complete honesty.   Don’t leave it so long that he thinks you’ve betrayed him.”
The boys do not seem to be taking much notice
At Penrhewl, Cadno tells Bobi (who is now wearing glasses) and Arthur that if they are good, the bunny will bring them an Easter egg.
Deri Draenog (hedgehog)
DJ comes in from the farmyard and notices a toy hedgehog with a label, “I’m Deri hedgehog, our Nursery School’s friend.”
Each child takes the hedgehog home for a week
Cadno explains that it is Bobi’s project;  the children take him home for a week at a time, and photos are taken of him in different locations.   DJ volunteers to help;  he and Cadno go out to the farmyard with a camera,
Uncle Jim plays with the boys
leaving Jim to mind the children.
"Is it a guilty conscience?"
Dani is becoming frustrated with Garry’s attention;  “I’m not an old granny!   What is wrong with you – is it a guilty conscience?   Not telling me that Gemma is living with Gwyneth.
"You can't trust her!"
You haven’t stopped Gwern going there while Gemma is there – you can’t trust her!”   Garry tries to convince her that Gwyneth would not let anything happen to Gwern,
"All that matters is for you to get better"
and tells Dani that all that matters to him is for her to get better.
Iolo is reliving the accident
Iolo studies the contents of a file, filled with magazine articles about OCD, and concentrates on a newspaper clipping with details of the hit and run.
Neither of them are getting much online romance
On their photography expedition round the farm, DJ tells Cadno that he has seen details of some women online, but no-one that he has liked;  “Anyway, they never put real photos of themselves on the site!”
Cadno does not want "Bumpkins" . . .
Cadno has only found men she describes as “Bumpkins”, and regrets telling the site she lived on a farm.   DJ admits there is one person he does fancy –
. . . and she certainly thinks Gemma is a bad move
Gemma, which causes Cadno some consternation.   DJ says he helped her move in, and she seems a nice enough girl;
"I know what people say"
“I know what people say, but they don’t really know her,” and Cadno points out he does not know her either.
Dani grumbles about the daytime television output, “All cartoons and programmes about antiques,”
Dani refuses Garry's specially made soup
and refuses the soup that Garry has made her;  “I’ve been in hospital for a week with people fussing – I don’t want you doing it!
"I smell like the hospital!"
I’m going to have a bath – I smell like the hospital!”
"I can't talk - I'm busy!"
As she goes, the buzzer sounds;  it is Sioned, wanting to talk to Garry, but he tells her, “I can’t talk, I’m busy!”
Spot the hedgehog
As Cadno and DJ look at the photographs they have taken, Marian arrives back from shopping, where she found some cut-price Easter eggs,
They wait for their Easter eggs
and she gives one each to Cadno and Jim, as well as two for the boys.
"And here's one for you, Richard"
When she comes to DJ, who she addresses as “Richard”, he declines, as he is trying to eat healthily.
Marian asks if he has “A lady friend,” to which he and Cadno simultaneously give conflicting answers;
"Give it to your lady friend"
Marian says, “Give to her then.”   She offers to babysit the boys for a while, while the three workers go to the Deri.
Iolo is very hesitant . . .
When Wiliam arrives at number 7, Iolo nervously backs away from him, causing Wiliam some concern.
. . . and explains it is the OCD
Iolo explains that it is a bit of OCD, and Wiliam produces a box containing the “Twister” game, which he describes as the best game ever.
"A game of Twister will sort you out!"
Apparently he was the Twister champion of the Gwendraeth class of 2003, so as Iolo reckons he was an expert, he agrees to play.
Sioned is becoming insistent, texting and then . . .
Garry has already received a message from Sioned, then she rings as Dani returns from her bath.   “Answer it!” instructs Dani,
. . . ringing Garry, demanding to speak to him
and Garry pretends that his caller is Gethin;  after agreeing to meet Sioned outside,
In actual fact, she is in the Deri flat
as she is threatening to stand outside his door until he comes down, he tells Dani he has to go to the garage to sort something out, which her “idiot brother” has messed up .
Sioned barges through the hedgehog photo group
While Cadno and DJ are taking pictures of the hedgehog outside the Deri, Sioned rushes out to meet Garry,
"You can't hang around like a stalker!"
who tells her she cannot hang around outside his home like a stalker.
DJ asks Gemma to hold his Easter egg, and then tells her she can have it,
DJ invites Gemma for a drink
her for a pint inside the Deri.
Gethin is surprised what he finds at number 7
When Gethin returns home, he finds Iolo and Wiliam somewhat tangled as they play Twister;  then Dani phones him, asking to speak to Garry, as his phone is turned off.
"I'm not at the garage, and I haven't seen Garry"
Gethin tells her that he has just locked up the garage, which puzzles Dani;
Dani works out that something is not right
“He told me he was going to the garage to see you,” she says.
"It's love's young dream!"
Gethin retires to the Deri, where he disappoints Siôn by telling him, “I feel in the way in my own home – it’s love’s young dream, Siôn!”
As Garry and Sioned talk . . .
Sioned tells Garry that she has an idea who tampered with the electrics, and will try and find out who targeted the flat;  she continues to urge him to work with her, and that they would make a good team.
. . . they are being watched
Little do they know that above them, Dani is peering from the upstairs window.
"Just be careful!"
In the Deri, despite Cadno’s warning to be careful, DJ suggests to Gemma that she might like go for a meal some time,
DJ is rather surprised when Gemma agrees
and Gemma readily agrees.   At the other end of the bar, Jim turns and asks Cadno, “Does he know what she’s like?”
Garry is questioned upon his return
When Garry returns home, he is quizzed by Dani about what was wrong at the garage, and if he saw anyone besides Gethin.   As he sits on the sofa beside her, he says, “Now I can spend the rest of the evening with you.”

Oh dear, there is suspicion and distrust
Dani has come to the conclusion that there is something going on.

27 March 2015

Mark puts Dani off hospitals
Dani sits disconsolately in her hospital bed, clutching her pink cuddly toy;  Mark, in the adjacent chair, comments that hospital are full of germs.   “Remember Auntie Marian – she almost died,” he tells her.
Dani concludes, “So my heart is fine, but I could die of boredom or germs?”   Mark advises her to sign herself out now.
"Pretty, isn't it?"
At APD, Jim is flaunting his “Everest” card;  “Pretty, isn’t it?” he comments.   Dai offers him a £5 note, then “a brown one,” but Jim insists,
"Not that brown one – a couple of purple ones, at least!"
“A couple of purple ones, at least!”
Dai protests that Jim’s card is not worth anything without the rest of the set;  “You weren’t interested until you saw my cards.”
"A doorway into Dai's childhood"
Diane reminds Dai that he was not interested until he found them in the attic.   Dai replies, “The Wonders of the World opened a door into my childhood!” and blames Diane for forcing him to get rid of them.
Garry collects his intruder alarm
Then Garry comes into the shop, to collect the alarm he had ordered, and pays the £200 cost.   Dai leaves on an errand.
In the Deri, Mark tells Siôn that Dani must be better, as all she did was moan.
"Allo, allo, allo," says Mark
PC Wiliam, in uniform, comes in, apologising to Siôn for last night;  “Iolo said I talked too much,” he says, but Siôn admits that he preached too much.   Mark jokes, “Just because he’s in uniform, he doesn’t get preferential treatment.”
"Did you clean for Megan too?"
Gwyneth is infuriated to find Gemma vacuuming;  “Did you clean for Megan too?” she asks.   Gemma offers her money, and says she has booked a table for lunch.
Gemma threatens that she could make things difficult
When Gwyneth refuses her offer, Gemma calmly tells her, “If Garry asks you about the accident again, it would look very odd if you and I didn’t get on – or if the cops asked.”   Again, Gwyneth is forced to agree.
"I wasn't born yesterday!"
When Jim arrives at her shop, Megan tells him she has been drafting the advert for the website,  and Jim offers her £10, but she dismisses his offer;  “I wasn't born yesterday!”
Then she sees Gemma outside and rushes out of the shop;
"You left in a bit of a hurry!"
“You left my home in a bit of a hurry!” she shouts.
"You told me she threw you out!"
When Gwyneth says she was under the impression that Megan threw her out, she denies it vehemently.
Gemma describes Megan as "an old witch!"
Gemma leaves Megan in no doubt;  “I left because I can’t live with an old witch!”
"Right, let's talk business"
Sioned approaches Garry demanding that they should talk business.
Garry reveals that what happened to Dani was deliberate
While he is looking at the new alarm, he explains to her that what happened to Dani was not an accident, but was possibly a result of their last job together, the stolen car.
"We had better keep our heads down!"
“We had better keep our heads down,” he warns her.
Mark makes facetious comments about a copper in the family
Mark is getting on Siôn’s nerves;  “It’s handy having a copper in the family – lock-ins, no need to fear the knock on the door.”   Siôn explains to Wiliam, “Mark is the village comedian – or likes to think he is!”   When Mark mentions the £10,000,
"Wasn't that money from someone who worked here?"
Wiliam asks, “Wasn’t that money from someone who used to work here?” and Siôn explains that it was from Meic Pierce, and was for the Deri.
Wiliam offers to take Siôn and Britt out for a meal, but Siôn makes excuses about being constantly busy.
Dai tries some bribery . . .
Dai visits Megan in an attempt to get the album returned, and offers a donation to Bethania as a bribe;  Jim and Diane follow,
. . . but Diane thinks it will have to be a bidding war
with Diane suggesting that the only way out of this stalemate is for them to bid against each other.
"Fancy going somewhere later?"
Wiliam visits Iolo to asks if he fancies going somewhere when his shift finishes, and mentions he was with the “Rich Landlord,”
"What do you mean – 'Rich Landlord'?"
which Iolo knew nothing about.   “I offered to take him and Britt out, but he didn’t want to know – I don’t think the uniform helps.”
"I make it 2,800 free pints!"
Mark continues to infuriate Siôn with his calculation that at £3.50 a pint, Siôn’s windfall could buy Deri customers 2,800 pints.
"It's not for clowns like you!"
Siôn shouts, “You’re not having free drinks!   It’s for investing, not for clowns like you!   Think before you open your mouth!”
Maldwyn and Beti, surprised by Siôn's belligerence
The other customers turn to look at Siôn.
Mark joins Gwyneth, and when told that Gemma has moved in “temporarily”, he comments, “That’s what you think – once she gets her feet under the table, she doesn’t shift!   She was like a cuckoo with me –
"She's cuckoo up here too!"
and she’s cuckoo up here too!
“She wanted to get married, even though we’d finished, then went round saying I’d died!   She latches on to people like Dani and me – and now you;
Gwyneth wonders what she will do next
“who knows what she’ll do next?”
The auction begins . . .
Jim starts the bidding for the card album with £20, with Dai offering £21, and so it goes, with both of them arguing that the set is worthless without the single card, and vice versa.
. . . and Diane calls a halt with her £30 cash offer
Diane takes charge and offers £30, warning Megan that she might not sell it online.   As Diane hands over the money, Dai grabs the album and scuttles away.
"Why didn't you tell me about this £10,000"
Iolo reprimands his father for not telling him about the ‘inheritance”.   Siôn changes the subject, maintains he does not want Iolo getting hurt, and asks, “Have you been completely honest with Wiliam?
Siôn reminds him about the hit and run
You’re hiding something from him – the hit and run – you let an inncocent man take the blame!”
"You lied to me!"
Gwyneth is furious when she gets home;  “You can’t buy friendship by cooking, vacuuming or buying cakes!   You lied to me!”
Gemma replies that Megan would have kicked her out in the end;  “I would never have moved in if I knew how impossible she was!   It was the only way I could persuade you to accept my help – with Garry and Britt.
"That proves we need each other"
You haven’t had any more trouble since I moved in.   That proves we need each other.   There’s lasagne in the oven – it will be ready by the time I come back,” and, so saying, she leaves.
Garry has to dissuade her from going back to the flat
Dani has got herself all ready to leave the hospital, telling Garry, “I’m going to despatch myself!”   Garry corrects her;  “Discharge,” and tells her the flat is in a terrible state, but will be like a palace by Monday.   “You don’t want a relapse,” he advises, so she agrees to stay.
"Not a word to Dani, or anyone else!"
Then Sioned appears outside the door, so Garry goes to see her, warning, “Another job is not going to happen until I find who broke in – not a word to Dani, or anyone else!”   Sioned gives Dani chocolates and leaves them alone.
Mark comes up with a masterplan . . .
In the Deri, Mark comes up with a plan that the only way to make some money is
. . . for the card to take its rightful place in the album
for Dai and Jim to put the cards together and sell them for a nice profit on the internet.   Diane is looking forward to some pocket-money on holiday.
"We shall have to get a heck of a price!"
Dai reluctantly agrees, “All right, but we shall have to get a heck of a price!”
Iolo is much more dubious now . . .
Wiliam arrives back to number 7, but finds Iolo in a depressed state.   He suggests cooking an Indian meal for Siôn and Britt;  “I want to get to know him better,” he says.
. . . and seems to be going downhill fast
Iolo admits, “I sometimes don’t know Dad myself.”
"What were you talking about to Sioned?"
As Dani asks Garry what he and Sioned were talking about, an unexpected and unwelcome visitor appears –
The last person they wanted to see
Gemma, with flowers for Dani.   She confesses,
"Things are not right between us, and it's all my fault!"
“Things are not right between us, Dani, and it’s all my fault.   I treated you badly, but I was so shocked when I heard you were ill.   I wish you could forget what I did, so we could be friends again.”
They do not appear to be totally convinced . . .
As she leaves, Dani and Garry look incredulously at each other;
. . . but she obviously thinks it was a good performance
in the corridor outside, Gemma wears a self-satisfied smirk.
