Dai delivers another load of black bags to Megan; “You’ll be rewarded in heaven,” she tells him, but he complains that the only reward he has is back pain. Jim passes and comments upon Dai not being at work;

“I’m the one who deserves some time off – I think I’ll take a holiday!”

| "It's my 50th coming up" |
Eileen confides to Megan that she hopes this means a special holiday; after all, she is 50 in a few weeks.

| "What are you going to use the £10,000 for, then?" |
In the café, Angela tells Siôn, “A little bird told me someone has been very generous to you.” Siôn emphasises that this is for the Deri, not for him personally, but Dai recommends building an extension to the Deri; “APD will quote you a very fair price!”

| Elliw finds it difficult to work |
Siôn is keen to change the subject to rugby, and Dai shows the footage of the last match he has captured on his phone. Trying to work at another table is Elliw Bevan,

| Ffion passes and spots her in the café |
and Ffion passing outside notices her. “Wouldn’t it be easier at home?” she asks,

| "Gethin's teething" |
but baby Gethin is teething, and his crying makes work impossible. Initially reluctant to get involved, Ffion soon agrees to look over her notes for the work set by Miss Allen

| "I'm going to drop the subject!" |
Soon, Elliw comes to the conclusion that she cannot do it; “I’m going to drop the subject,” – the noise in the café is not helping. Ffion tries to encourage her, but she says, “It’s no use, nobody will give me a job now I have a baby. I’m useless! Please can we go to your flat?”

Iolo has just arrived home in his plumber’s van, when Wiliam appears, inviting him to a gig in Swansea. He is not keen, then Britt comes over and invites them to Y Felin for a meal, and will not take no for an answer.

“Is she always like that?” asks Wiliam, as soon as she is gone, and Iolo replies, “You haven’t met Dad yet!”

| "Fancy one of Dai's jumpers?" |
Jinx takes Arwen to Megan’s shop, where he finds an old Tiger annual, which he buys, and Jim sorts through some of Dai’s cast-offs, before discovering the tea-card album.

| "These things can be worth a lot of money!" |
“I used to collect these,” he tells Jinx, who informs him that such things can be worth a lot of money.
Megan points out that there is one missing, number 37, “Everest”. Jim is certain he used to have that one, and hurries home to try and find his collection.

| He shakes the books, hoping a card will fall out |
Eileen comes home to find Jim sifting through piles of books, as he used to employ the tea-cards as bookmarks.

| Eileen broaches the subject of holidays |
She raises the subject of a holiday, but is disappointed that Jim was only pulling Dai’s leg; “We’re too busy to go on holiday!”

Eileen manages to find a card, but he says, “Number 10? – I’m looking for number 37!”

| Jinx is displeased to find Elliw there |
As Ffion explains to Elliw that Miss Allen may give her extra time to complete her work, Jinx returns with Arwen. Predictably he is not pleased to see the girl there;

“What’s she doing here? Are you sane? You’ve brought a pupil to our home. Gaynor warned you about getting too involved!”

| "Sorry, Elliw, you can't come over here again!" |
He then tells Elliw that she could not come there again,

| She leaves, feeling rejected |
and she apologetically leaves.
Although Britt is eager for Wiliam’s visit, Siôn is not;

“I’m not happy, having a police officer in the house!”
When Wiliam is helping Britt in the kitchen, Iolo asks, “You don’t mind me bringing him over, do you?” Siôn replies that he seems a nice bloke.

Jim’s next port of call is Angela’s, where she tells him some of the books he used to read to Courtney are up in her room, so he goes to look.

Eileen tells her daughter that he has forgotten her birthday,

but Angela rather naïvely suggests that Jim may be planning something.
Eileen complains that Dai and Diane are going to the Caribbean, “But I’ll just get a meal – cooked by me.”

Jim comes down with more books, and having only found a card with the Pyramids, has about given up hope, when he finds the “Everest” card.

| At last – "In the middle of Wil Cwac Cwac!" |
“In the middle of ‘Wil Cwac Cwac’!” he shouts in jubilation.

| "What if the adoption agency found out?" |
Jinx and Ffion are arguing again; “What if the adoption agency found out? We can’t compromise the process!” rages Jinx. Ffion wonders why helping a girl in need should do that.

| He accuses Ffion of being unprofessional |
“You’re unprofessional and we can’t afford to break any rules!” he continues, “I want it to work, and I thought you felt the same!” He storms off to the Deri;

“To sulk,” comments Ffion.

| Rather a tense meal |
The meal at Y Felin is not a very relaxed affair; when Wiliam comments that it must be a strain for Siôn, running a business and a chapel, Siôn is immediately on the defensive. Wiliam reveals that he used to go to Sunday School, “Like a good boy, but then I realised it was all a fairy tale. Religion does more harm than good, and is responsible for most wars.”

Siôn replies that extreme fundamentalist religion does this, “But so does corrupt government!”

Iolo comments, “The establishment again!” When Siôn claims that religion holds the village together,

Britt remarks, “We’ve had Sunday’s sermon already.”
Wiliam informs them that he became a police officer because there is so much evil, and he wanted to do something practical to change that.

In the Deri, Jinx is getting graphical ideas from the Tiger cartoons, and tells Dai how he misses all the comics of his youth, that his mother threw out as they were only collecting dust. Dai suddenly gets up and leaves, heading straight for Megan’s shop.

He gets there as Megan is about to close, and demands that he have his cards back. Jim also arrives as Megan refuses to hand them back; “Sets like that have sold for a lot of money. Jim offers to buy them for £5, and Dai cannot understand why.

but Megan tells them she will be putting them on a specialist website, so as to get the best possible sum for Apêl Maenan.

Wiliam leaves Y Felin as he has an early shift in the morning, and thanks Britt and Siôn for a lovely evening. “Welcome to the family!” enthuses Britt.

As soon as the door is shut, Siôn is fretting; “He might have heard about the cheque and suspects something.” “He’s not Mystic Meg!” says Britt,

Siôn is beginning to regret that Meic sent the cheque, but Britt insists, “It’s manna from heaven – it solves the problem. Just tell them you’re investing it until you decide. You don’t have much choice.”

Siôn is becoming angry; “One lie leads to another. The police will notice! And you welcomed him into the family!”
