| Chester is becoming a total pain in the neck |
Chester is lounging in the armchair, as he has another Inset day; Siôn comes in, wanting Britt to come and see what he has done at Bethania, but she is too busy.

| "I told you weeks ago!" scolds Britt |
“I told you weeks ago that you should get it done properly, but you left it until the last minute and did a rush job!” Chester goes upstairs, telling Britt, “Stop being so ratty!” Siôn concludes that she needs to have a word with him, “Otherwise I shall have to.”

| Gabriella insists he tell Anita |
Meic comes downstairs to find Gabriella on her laptop; “You’ll have to tell Anita about the wake – and about Patagonia!” she tells him. Then Anita comes in, wondering what they are discussing behind her back.

| Anita thinks a 'living wake' rather distasteful |
“We’re planning a ‘living wake’ next Thursday,” says Meic. Anita regards that as a rather strange idea, even in bad taste, but he insists that is what he wants.

Of course, Anita then starts compiling a list of who to invite, and Meic stipulates, “Kevin should get an invitation.” Both Gabriella and Anita think it unlikely that he would be allowed out of the prison.

Gemma arrives at Gwyneth’s at an inopportune moment, when she is expecting Gwern back, and the house is in a mess. Gemma helps with the tidying and says she will go to the Deri at lunchtime to get them a treat.

| Siôn advises flowers as a peace offering |
Chester comes back downstairs, and Siôn expresses dissatisfaction with the way he spoke to his mother, suggesting that he gets her some flowers from the shop, and giving him the money.
Garry and Dani are in the café, where Garry tells her, “You’re going to turn into a piece of toast!” She responds that she likes toast; “If you've got a problem with that, then tough!”

Gemma comes in and asks Gwen, “Have you got any gingerbread men? I want a treat for Gwern.”

This angers Dani, but Garry tries to calm her; “Don’t give Gemma and Gwyneth an excuse to cause trouble – one gingerbread man won’t kill anyone.”

However, as Gemma leaves, he advises her, “Tell Gwyneth not to let Gwern out of her sight while you’re there!”

As Sheryl is savouring yet another gherkin, Gabriella arrives and tells her about the ‘living wake’.

Sheryl is keen to attend, but Gabriella points out that Kevin is to be invited, as he is Meic’s son, and it might be wise for Sheryl not to come.

“Everyone in the village knows how I respect Meic – am I supposed to let the man who raped me walk all over me again?” rages Sheryl, and asks Gabriella to leave.

Chester and his two mates are in the shop; Chester tells Eileen, “Your flowers are rubbish – crap flowers, crap shop, crap Eileen!”

as his compatriots beat bunches of flowers on the counter. Fortunately Jim comes in at this minute and chases the youths out of the shop.

Eileen is shaken, but when he proposes going to see Siôn, she tells him that she will deal with this in her own way.

| "Where's Gwern — with Gemma?" |
Dani sees Gwyneth in the street, and shouts, “What do you think you’re doing? Where’s Gwern? With Gemma?” Gwyneth explains that she is good with Gwern, but Dani replies, “We’ll see what Garry says.
Gwyneth is angry and tells her, “You’re always running to Garry. His life and mine would be a lot easier if you stopped stirring!”

Britt shows her flowers to Siôn, who assures her that he has had a word, and that Chester realises his behaviour has to change.

But at that very moment Jim appears, and tells him that Chester’s behaviour is going from bad to worse. “He has been making Eileen’s life unbearable, and I’m not happy about it,” says Jim, apologetically.

Anita comes in and remarks to Gabriella that she is not sure about this ‘living wake’, but thinks that Darren should be invited.

Meic does not want to drag him and the pregnant Katie all the way from Canada.

Then Anita tells him to postpone it, but Meic responds, “How can I do that?” Anita and Gabriella go to the Deri to invite people.

When Eileen arrives at the Deri, Britt goads her, “You’ve done it again, I see. Avoided telling me yourself, sending your henchman to moan about Chester!”

Eileen marches across to Jim, admonishing him for interfering; “I said that I would deal with it!” she snaps.

The assembled customers are shocked when they hear from Anita the announcment about the ‘living wake’ at 4:00pm on Thursday.

“I’m struggling with the idea,” she tells them, “But what Meic wants is the important thing.”

| "I shall have to be more strict!" |
“Is there any truth in the story?” Siôn asks Chester, who replies, “What story?” Siôn regrets that, “There is no getting through to you these days. If you behave in such an uncivilised way, I shall have to be more strict.

“You’re grounded for the weekend – and you’re lucky it’s not worse!”

Garry and Dani arrive at Gwyneth’s, and Garry stresses, “You know this one’s history as well as we do.

“Unless you promise to keep Gwern away from her, you’re going to see a lot less of him! Understand?”
Garry orders Gemma, “Right, get out! You heard!” She protests that she is not going anywhere, so Dani suggests that Gwern should go home with them. Gwyneth tells Gemma, “Sorry, Gem, I have to give in!”

Anita arrives home, saying she feels as if she has been canvassing in an election campaign.

“I am coming round to the idea, as people see it as a way to celebrate, rather than to mourn,“ she tells Meic, who answers, “I won’t be on my own, then.”
She continues, “ It will be a farewell to a person of flesh and blood, rather than his spirit. Not that I intend to bid farewell for a long time, Meic Pierce.”

She embraces him.
When Anita has gone upstairs for a bath, Gabriella again insists that he must tell her, as it is not fair.

Gabriella gives him an ultimatum; “If you don’t tell her, there’s no Patagonia!”
