Gabriella argues, “How will it be less stressful if you are thousands of miles away in Patagonia? She would never let you go.”

Meic finds Gabriella in the Deri, and tells her, “The more I think about my life, the more I realise I have nothing to look forward to here. All that will happen is that I’ll end up in that bed, and people will pity me. I want to die with a bit of dignity, that’s why I want to go to Patagonia with you. I could see the world before being forced to depart. I could see where you used to live, and meet your friends.”
