Debbie takes Nicky for his mother to look after as she has to work in the café; she warns, “And don’t you dare dump him on Mark!” Vicky protests that she has to go to work at the salon, as she is skint. Debbie’s answer is to the point; “Tough!”

In APD, Anita tells Diane that she is planning a complete makeover for the house.

Jim complains, “I doubt if there is room for this counter at Penrhewl!” and Diane reminds him that she has not agreed to move yet.

He and Dai begin to measure up the counter, as Anita urges them to give Diane time to think.

Gaynor has come home to Llwyncelyn unexpectedly at lunchtime, and is rearranging the lounge to suit her.

Gaynor raises a sensitive subject; “About Meilyr’s room, I think it would help everyone if the room was emptied, but only if you and Sheryl feel ready.”

Hywel agrees that something needs to be done, and will have a word with Sheryl.

Trade has picked up in the salon, with two customers, when Sheryl asks Vicky to go to the shop for some milk. She has mislaid her purse,

but Dani gives Vicky some money, stressing, “I want the change!”
Vicky first checks on her baby, who is in the back room; when he starts crying,

Sheryl looks scared, but Dani hears it too, and goes to investigate.

“How could you?” demands Dani, “It’s tough on Sheryl as it is!”

Then Sheryl comes in and gives the ultimatum that she must sort something out; “This is a salon, not a creche! And go and get the milk!”

Sioned suggests to Ed, “Why don’t we have a date night tonight? A meal, few drinks and clubbing, just you and me?” Ed is concerned about Gemma who has been very quiet since visiting DJ.

“What’s the matter? Has DJ finished with you?” She replies that they have not split up,

and reveals that he asked her to send him a song, Bugeilio’r Gwenith Gwyn; she shows him the words, which she describes as lovely.

Sioned in her usual insensitive way comments, “It’s drugs or alcohol that inmates usually demand!” Gemma insists that DJ is having a terrible time. “You’re not meant to enjoy prison!” says Sioned. Gemma answers that he is not meant to put up with threats, either, and she is sure that something is going on.

At APD, Dai is scheming, telling Jim that if they were to tell Awyr Iach that they had received a higher offer for the APD premises, they would be bound to increase their offer. “It’s a dead cert!” he promises, “Pass me the phone – you know it makes sense.”

He dials a number, then begins, “Hi, Gwilym! About the offer for APD – there have been some developments . . .”

Vicky is alternately mopping the salon floor and looking at baby Nicky; Sheryl is becoming impatient. “I’ve given you enough time to sort this out! Take him home – I’ll deduct it from your pay!”

At that moment, Ed walks in and offers to babysit; “We’ll go for a walk to the park – no problems.”

Sheryl is furious; “You can’t dump a baby on the first man who walks in! What if the baby wants his mother?” Vicky replies that he has his bottle and dummy. “Anything could happen – and you don’t care!” Sheryl shouts, “You have a baby and no idea about how to look after it!”

Vicky has had enough of this and responds, “I’m very sorry about your little boy – I can’t imagine how you felt – but I know what’s best for Nicky, not you!”

Gwilym phones back to tell Dai that he has informed Awyr Iach, and they will get back to him. Diane is not at all happy about what he is planning,

especially when Jim tells her that Eileen has been working on a new logo for APD.
“The Proberts will be running the show before we know it!” she moans to Anita,

who suggests that Awyr Iach might withdraw the offer if they had the chance of a business unit, in the Antur, on the cheap.

Ed arrives at Maes-y-Deri with the baby, reporting that he has been smiling and laughing all afternoon.

“Let me buy you a drink to cheer you up,” he tells Vicky.
She has a better idea, that they have a Cwmni Perffaith party; “You, me, Dani and Claire – I need to get on with Dani after today. We could get a bus to Swansea.” Ed says that he will arrange it.

Debbie drops in, bringing a cuddly toy that was left behind, and says that she is going to have a lazy evening in front of the box. “No, sorry!” answers Vicky, “I’ve got a shift at Y Glyndwr – thanks, Mam!”

Sioned has gone to a lot of trouble to tart herself up for the evening out, and tells Gemma that DJ will soon be out, so they can go out on dates every night. “If he’s still in one piece!” Gemma comments, regretfully. Sioned advises her to write a romantic letter to DJ.

Gemma perks up, saying, “I can do better than that!”

Sioned has a disappointment when Ed comes downstairs and tells her that he forgot that he was going for a pint with the rugby boys. She complains, “Do you know how long it took to look this good? And I put nails on – they’re really fiddly!” Dani passes and calls Ed, “Supernanny,” so he explains to Sioned.

Hywel is surprised when Sheryl walks into Llwyncelyn to retrieve her purse, which she had left in a drawer. He tells her that there is something Gaynor wanted him to discuss with her, but chickens out of telling her,

Vicky and Ed are at their party (possibly at the Antur), but Ed rather transparently maintains he thought Vicky was going to invite the other two. She therefore rings them, but Claire cannot come. He is in quite a hurry for them to head off to Swansea

when Dani does arrive, and suggests that as Claire is not there, they should reschedule for next week. Dani leaves, followed by Vicky, who says, “Ta-ra, Edward!” much to Ed’s regret.

In the Deri, Dai and Jim drink a toast to, “APD and Penrhewl!” while Diane looks disapproving. When Jim jokes, “It will be handy to have both on one site – like an empire!”

Diane has had enough, e-mailing the agent from her phone about the Antur.

Hywel is sitting in the semi-darkness when Gaynor comes home, and asks him if he has had a hard day. “Is there any other kind?” he replies. When she asks if he has had a chance to talk to Sheryl about Meilyr’s room, he lies that she will be coming over.

“Thank you for everything, Gaynor,” says Hywel, “Listen, I’ve been thinking about us.” After being reminded by her that there is no ‘us’, he continues, “I don’t want to drag it through the courts – why can’t we just split things fairly? We could keep whatever we had before we got married – anything we bought together, you can keep.”
