Sheryl comes downstairs to find Hywel asleep on the sofa, an empty whisky bottle on the floor beside him.

| "We need to talk!" |
He grabs her arm and tells her, “We need to talk!” She replies that they can do that tonight, and leaves for the salon.

| "The lights don't look bad" |
In the Deri, Siôn admires the lights, and apologises to Britt;

| "Sorry about the way I've been" |
“Sorry about the way I’ve been – there’s a lot of work, and I didn’t deal with Chester very well. I really want us to go out.”
“Don’t do it because you feel you have to!” Britt tells him, but he stresses that what she said to him is important. Then Colin, who has been sitting in the background, comes over and asks if they know any fitness coaches.

| "The Zumba woman fell off her treadmill!" |
“I’m doing an item on CwmFM, and Lynette, the Zumba woman from Cwmtyrch, has pulled out – she fell off her treadmill! I considered asking Ffion, but I don’t know if she’s well enough.”
Britt does not mince her words; “If she’s well enough to look after her own child – as you insisted, Siôn – she can do an item on the radio!”

| "Don't forget to mention the Deri" |
Siôn thinks it may do her good, and asks Colin to mention the switch-on of the Deri’s lights tonight.

| "Why don't we go out for a meal together?" |
“Why don’t we go out for a meal together – please?” Siôn asks Britt, and when she proposes going to Megan’s shop to find something to wear, he adds, “I’ll come with you – I want to talk about the primary school. If the rumours are true, I want to be ready.” Britt’s face falls.

| "I'm not shifting all those bags on my own!" |
Jim moans that he is not going to load the cement bags on his own, and Dai tells him he is not supposed to do it under the new Health and Safety rules. Jim grumbles, “Who’s going to do it then? Fairies?”

| Diane has had a take-over letter |
Diane brings to their notice a letter, offering to buy out APD. “Not the business, but the yard and the site; it’s a company called Awyr Iach (Healthy Air).” She reads from the letter in English, “We are keen to negotiate a mutually favourable price for both parties at your earliest convenience.”
Diane argues that they do not want to sell, as APD is in the perfect position,

but Dai maintains, “It’s a chance to sell and retire at the same time! We could move on to another project – we could open a bar in Spain!”
Diane is against retiring, after the fiasco last time,

| "I don't want to sell, move site or retire!" |
and Jim reminds them, “It’s not your decision - there are three of us, and I don’t want to sell, move site or retire!”

| Gethin appears very domesticated |
Colin visits Ffion in an attempt to get her assistance; “I’ll ask about diets, then chat about eating and drinking too much.” Then he regrets what he said,

| "Don't worry about talking about alcohol!" |
but Ffion reassures him he does not have to worry about talking of alcohol. Gethin encourages her to do it, as she has been bored.

| "I feel a hypocrite" |
When Colin has gone, Ffion admits she feels a hypocrite, telling people how to eat and drink healthily; “A couple of weeks ago I was having vodka and fresh air for breakfast!” Gethin tells her to stop putting herself down, and that she is doing very well.

| "I've finished with Hywel" |
Looking very depressed, Sheryl passes Garry in the street, and tells him that she and Hywel have finished.

| "Can I do anything?" |
He offers to do anything he can, and Sheryl asks, “Will you talk to him – or just listen? He needs someone, but I don’t think he’ll turn to a friend. He doesn’t want us to finish, but I’ve never been more certain of anything!”

| Colin makes weird comments . . . |
Colin is wittering on to the radio listeners, “If you’re worried about fitting into that black dress – I certainly am!

“Joining me live in the studio is Mrs Fitness, Ffion Llywelyn! Don’t worry at home, I shall be doing it with you – I’m going to share the pain.”

| "Start by jogging on the spot" |
Ffion begins, “We’re going to start by jogging on the spot.”

| Colin in his sporty gear |
She is aghast when Colin strips down to his leotard and starts exercising. “Then a few jumping jacks – but don’t overdo it!” Colin, in his usual fashion, does overdo it, his arms flailing like windmills.

Garry goes to Llwyncelyn, and tells Hywel that he spoke to Sheryl; “She doesn’t mean it,” says Hywel, “Julie has only just left, and it’s the first time we’ve been alone since Meilyr...”

Garry replies that she sounded pretty certain.

| Another swig of whisky |
Hywel pours himself another whisky and continues, “I gave up everything for her – my family and home. I can’t just throw that away! We’re supposed to go through this together – who understands better than someone who is going through it?”

| "I'll take you out somewhere to eat" |
Garry prevent him from pouring another glass, and advises, “Go for a shower, and I’ll take you out somewhere to eat. If you really want Sher back, welcoming her home, stinking of whisky and full of self-pity won’t help.”

As “Let’s get physical” plays in the background,

Ffion instructs, “Bend slowly to the floor, keep your stomach in and enjoy the stretch. Bend your knees and come up slowly.”

| Ffion reads his inappropriate script |
Colin winces with pain, unable to bend, and motions for Ffion to read his script for him.
“Now for the adverts,” she reads, “After all that hard work, I deserve to enjoy myself, and where better than the Deri, where they’re turning on the Christmas lights?”

| "I knew I shouldn't have done this!" |
Colin cries out in pain.

| "Dai is thinking of selling the business" |
In the shop, Jim tells Eileen about Dai’s idea of opening a bar in Spain, and being willing to throw everything away. “Maybe I could buy Dai's and Diane’s share,” muses Eileen, “The bank was happy to lend me the money when I intended to buy the café.”

| "How about relocating to Penrhewl?" |
Jim asks, “What if this Awyr Iach offers a good price for the place? Dai will only see the money.” Eileen points out there are other places – she owns half of Penrhewl. Jim is sure that Cadno would never agree to that.

| "We could talk!" |
Hywel goes to the salon and asks Sheryl what she wants for dinner; “We could talk as well,” he suggests, but she is adamant it will make no difference. “We’re good together! We can have another baby, but that doesn’t mean we’ll forget Meilyr!” Ffion and Gethin have come in.

| "Having another baby could kill me!" |
“Having another baby could kill me!” shouts Sheryl, and when Hywel says she is giving up too easily, she orders him out of the salon.

| "You'd better leave!" |
Gethin thinks it would be advisable for him to leave, but Hywel then denigrates him as well. “Listen to him – he wanted a family with you, when he had one in London!”

| "This is not helping anyone!" |
Ffion admonishes Hywel that this is not helping anyone.

| Colin walks rather stiffly . . . |
Colin hobbles into the shop and is instructed by Eileen to get down the boxes of chocolates from the top shelf;

he looks rather scared by the prospect.

| When he almost gets there . . . |
Climbing gingerly on the step-stool, he reaches up,

then is seized by a searing pain in his back.

| "I must take you home!" |
As he climbs back down, he assures Eileen that he will not sue her for not giving him a proper ladder. He refuses Eileen’s offer to take him to the surgery, but she does accompany him home.

Ffion invites Sheryl to come to the Deri with then; “It will give you a break from Hywel,” says Gethin.

| "I can't face going home to him" |
Sheryl is disgusted with the prospect of going home and discussing the same thing with him.

| Colin finds the best position |
At number 7, Colin finds the best position is lying on the floor, with his legs on the sofa. Eileen is anxious and assures him,

| "After all, it's my fault, isn't it?" |
“Don’t worry about work – I’ll pay your hours and anything you need to get better. After all, its my fault, isn’t it?”

| Amid the pain, there is a silver lining |
Despite the pain, Colin detects he may be on to a good thing; Eileen will bring meals over for him, and promises a lasagne later. He reassures her that he will not report her to the Health and Safety,

and calls her a good friend, amid his grimaces and cries of pain.

| "Sorry I'm late – I took Colin a lasagne" |
Eileen later tells Jim that she has taken lasagne over to Colin.

When Llinos wishes Megan, “Happy Birthday!” it is revealed that she is 70 today.

| Diane has not agreed anything yet |
Dai is incredulous that Eileen wants to buy APD, but warns he will not sell it on the cheap. Diane stresses that she has not agreed to anything yet, but will let Eileen know when she does.

When Eileen goes to the bar, Ffion asks how Colin is, and explains, “It’s his own fault, jumping around without warming up properly. It was on CwmFM, and he insisted on calling me ‘Fitness Ffion’ as if it were a kids’ show! That’s what the pupils will call me now!”

Eileen is furious; “So he injured himself at CwmFM? The liar! I thought it was my fault – and I even took him lasagne!”

Siôn rings the bell behind the bar,

| A lone policemen stands guard at the bus stop |
and shepherds the customers outside for the Christmas lights ceremony.

| "This is a double celebration" |
He announces, “This is a double celebration, as we’re also wishing happy birthday to one of Cwmderi’s most prominent residents. I’m sure that, if the rumours about the school are correct, Megan will again lead us into battle!”
Meanwhile Garry and Hywel come round the corner;

| Sheryl cannot wait to get away from Hywel |
Hywel tells Sheryl he is sorry for losing his temper in the salon, but she replies, “Forget about it! I’d like to spend time with Ffion and Gethin.”

| "Let me buy you one drink!" |
Garry proposes that Hywel can stay with him and Dani, but he is insistent he wants to buy Sheryl a drink.

| "I can't stand being in your company!" |
She snaps, “I’m going home! Don’t touch me, Hywel! I can’t stand being in your company, so please leave me alone!”

| She walks away, alone |
As the assembled multitude watch, Hywel wants to follow her, but Garry prevents him from doing so.
