Siôn is hard at work again
When Britt comes downstairs, Siôn is already at work on the laptop as he has a deadline;  “You’ve always been happier at your desk than in bed!” she remarks acerbically.
"Just a reminder that a repayment is due"
Then Garry pays an early morning visit to remind Siôn that the latest repayment is due today;  when Siôn comments that he should set up a direct debit, Garry replies, “Cash is king!   I want it this afternoon.”
Chester comes down just as Siôn’s mobile rings, and grabs it;
"Siôn can't talk right now!"
“Siôn White’s phone,” he says, “Siôn can’t talk right now, as he had a massive ‘sesh’ last night.   Here he is now – don’t speak too loudly!”
"Sorry about that, Mr Evans"
Siôn apologises for his step-son’s behaviour and admits that the translation is not quite finished, as he had technical difficulties.   His customer, Mr Evans, appears to be angered by this.
Siôn is seeking to marshal protesters
Then Siôn goes to the cashpoint to withdraw the money for Garry;  he meets Ffion and Gethin, inviting them to the protest about the school.   Ffion says she will not be going as her salary is paid by the council.
"We need some radio publicity"
Siôn then calls at CwmFM to ask for some radio publicity for the protest, and finds a duvet on the sofa there;
Earlier, Hywel on the sofa, with Meilyr's bib
he deduces that Hywel has been sleeping there.
Whatever it is, it is affecting her again
As Eifion and Angela start putting up decorations, she feels faint, but then recovers;
Eifion knows there is something wrong
Eifion senses that something is wrong.
"Right, what are we doing today?"
Kelly has a day off, so goes to see Gemma who is busy with something.
"Promise not to laugh"
“It’s a surprise for DJ if you must know,” she tells Kelly, “Promise not to laugh!”
Siôn hears that Gaynor is back at Llwyncelyn
Siôn takes Hywel to the café for lunch, and is surprised to hear that Gaynor is back at Llwyncelyn.
"And she's kicked me out!"
Gaynor kicked me out!” Hywel complains, “She said it was for my benefit, but I saw through her straightaway!   That was Meilyr’s home, where he lived – it was part of him.”
"You must stay at Y Felin"
Siôn considers it may be for the best, and invites Hywel to stay at Y Felin until he sort himself out, and will not take no for an answer.   “Now eat your lunch!” he tells Hywel.
Ffion intends to go to lunch with Gethin
Ffion arrives at the garage, wanting to go for lunch with Gethin;  he urges her to go with him to the protest.
"Gwern would be heartbroken if the school closed"
Garry agrees with Gethin, and adds that Gwern would be heartbroken if the school closed.
"Every school needs a headteacher"
“Maybe I don’t want to save the school,” she answers, “A community school for ages 3 – 18 could offer many advantages – and not just for Arwen.   Every school needs a head teacher – it’s a fantastic opportunity!”
Gethin points out, “Gaynor is bound to apply, and running a huge school would be very stressful . . .”
"Especially for an alcoholic?"
“Especially for an alcoholic?” she finishes his sentence.   “Nice to see you’ve got so much faith in me!   Don’t bother with lunch!”   She storms off.
Careful, Angela, mind your step
As Angela stretches up to hang the decorations, Eifion does not want her to go ‘over the top’;  “I don’t want to live in a grotto!”   When Angela suggests that Bobi might like to help,
"Bobi would be more of a hindrance"
Eifion concludes, “He would be more of a hindrance!”
Angela feels faint and leans against the wall;
"Angela!   Can you hear me?"
Eifion springs across the room and, shouting, “Angela!” catches her as she slowly subsides to the floor.
"I'm calling an ambulance!"
He gets her into a sitting position and is about to phone for an ambulance, but once again she argues that she is simply anaemic.
"No – I only fainted"
However she does admit she fainted recently when she was helping Colin.
"Come on – we're getting you up to bed"
Eifion puts his phone away and helps her up to bed for a lie down.
"It was a stupid idea"
Gemma is nervous about her plan to surprise DJ, calling it a stupid idea;  Kelly insists, “It’s lovely – I’m just jealous!
The thought of watching TV with Auntie Anita
The only romance I get is watching ‘rom-coms’ with Auntie Anita!”
Britt is hardly pleased to see their guest
Siôn arrives at Y Felin with their unexpected guest;  Britt chides Siôn, “It would have been nice if you texted!”   Chester, who is as usual playing a game, comments that he is surprised Siôn has not been sacked by his customer.
"He loves playing the Good Samaritan"
He tells Hywel, “He loves playing the Good Samaritan – it gives him a kick!   He’ll get loads of Brownie points from the people at chapel!”   Siôn snaps at him that not everyone craves attention like he does.
As Siôn and Chester shout at each other . . .
Chester must have the last word;  “Says Reverend White – I’ve heard it all now!”
. . . Hywel cannot get out of there quick enough
Hywel tells them that is enough;  “I knew this was a mistake!” and picks up his luggage to go.
Chester continues, “How can St Siôn serve you when you’re not here?”   Hywel escapes as rapidly as possible.
"Lucky escape, if you ask me!"
“Oh dear – that wasn’t part of the plan, was it?   Lucky escape, if you ask me!”
"It's not going to ring"
Gemma watches the phone, and expects it will not ring, but it does, and she speaks to DJ;  after DJ jokes that he has been for a jog, done some shopping and had a couple of pints, she begins to sing down the phone to him the words of Bugeilio’r Gwenith Gwyn
Gemma sings down the phone to DJ
“I am a young and foolish lad
Who lives as he pleases,
I lovingly tend the whitened wheat,
And another harvests it.
Will you follow where I go?
One day after another,
I see your beauty, little lass . . .”
DJ appears to enjoy this serenade . . .
At this point, DJ, who has up until now been smiling, is urged by the Irish prisoner to end the call;
. . . until the mouthy Irishman wants to phone his mam
“I’ve got to call my Mam – it’s her birthday,” he explains, in English with an Irish accent.   Gemma is confused by the abrupt termination of the call.
"Is it safe to come in?"
Returning to Cysgod y Glyn, Gethin asks if it is safe to come in;
"Maybe I need a challenge like this"
Ffion reasons, “Anything could drive me back to drink – headteacher or not.   Maybe I need a challenge like this – and the salary would be good, at least £60,000!   But if you don’t fancy the idea . . .”
"I will support you"
Gethin replies, “They haven’t even closed Ysgol Cwmderi yet, but I will support you and do everything I can to help.”
The unwelcome visitor arrives at Cysgod y Glyn
The buzzer sounds and Hywel arrives;  “Sorry to land on you like this, but can I stay the night, please?”
Gethin wants to get rid of him
Gethin suggests he may be more comfortable in a B&B, but Hywel reminds them, “I am the landlord of this place.”   Gethin maintains that does not give him the right to walk in as he pleases.
Ffion on the other hand agrees to his request, “Not as landlord, but as a friend.   Sit down and I’ll make some tea.”
Hywel has a 'Meilyr's bib' fetish, or something
Gethin does not appear very happy with this, especially when Hywel takes Meilyr’s bib from his bag and looks at it.
"Aah – it's perfect"
Eifion has almost finished the decorations when Angela comes back downstairs;  she describes his efforts as ‘perfect’.   “Come and sit down,” he tells her,
Eifion's online research
“I’ve been doing a bit of research.
"It sounds like a brain tumour!"
The symptoms you describe sound like a brain tumour – I’m serious!”
She again remarks that it is just anaemia;  “Just five minutes online, and everyone’s a doctor.”
This does not convince Eifion;  “I’ve booked a scan, privately – who cares about the cost?   Please do it!”
She acquiesces to his will
Angela, seeing his concern, agrees to his request.
Chester and Siôn's laptop – not a good combination
Siôn catches Chester near his laptop;  “Just wanted to check you’ve saved it – don’t want you to lose the work again!” Chester comments.
"I know you did it!"
“Your mother may believe your lies, but I know you did it!” Siôn tells him, ands he readily admits that he did.
And he would do it again if he had the chance
“Given half a chance, I’d do it again!” Chester threatens.   Siôn rants that his reputation is at stake here, and if customers doubt if he can meet deadlines . . . “Your career would be over?” mocks Chester, “What a shame!”
"I treated you as though you were my own son"
Siôn angrily recounts how he has treated Chester just like his own sons.   “And look how they turned out!” is the answer,
"One out of three is not bad!"
“No, I’m being unfair – Iolo’s all right.   One out of three is not bad!”
Siôn looks him in the eye;  “You need to grow up!   You’ve been spoiled by your mother.   If your father was alive today, he’s be ashamed of you!”
Britt immediately takes Chester's side
At that moment Britt returns with Garry;  she addresses Siôn, “How could you?”
“Oh yes,” replies Siôn, He can talk to me how he likes!   I just found out he deleted my work!”
Britt does not care what he did, but insists that is no excuse for talking to him like that.   Garry, who has been watching, comments, “You handled that well, Siôn!”
Garry gets his money
After receiving the money he is owed, Garry gives some advice;  “That child will be a man before long.
"The Monks have a very long memory!"
You’ve tried your best to tame him and make him into a respectable White.   But Chester is a Monk, and as you know, Monks have a very long memory!”
