16 December 2015 – The Wednesday Episode is back!

Mark waits for Vicky
Mark is waiting for Vicky, who he is accompanying to the surgery;  when she arrives, she still protests, “Sticking a needle in a baby isn’t natural!”
"Come on, let's get it over!"
Mark tells her the sooner they get there, the sooner it will be over.   “I hope Sheryl shuts up about it!” says Vicky.
Cadno tells them the school is closed
Cadno is in a quandary over childcare for Bobi, as the primary school is closed, “With a broken boiler or something,” she tells Ffion and Gethin.
"Closure could come sooner"
He replies, “Iolo said the council won’t pay for a new one – it looks as if closure could come sooner than we thought.”
"Look at the size of that ham!"
Eifion is looking online at a huge ham, which Angela considers is much too big for them;  “I’d be as fat as a pig if I ate all that!” she tells him.
"You have to eat too much, so you can diet!"
He replies, “You have to eat too much, so you can start a diet in the New Year.   Now go and have a shower – the scan is in a couple of hours.”
Gethin tells Kelly about the vandalism
Gethin goes to number 10 in an attempt to get Kelly to run a story about the boiler, but she considers it not to be newsworthy;  “Where’s your proof?” she demands.
"I've got another scoop!"
“Anyway, I’ve got another scoop – did you know a Vaping company is coming to the Antur?   You know, electronic cigarettes – no-one knows if they’re dangerous long-term.   Diane and Anita have rented out a unit to Awyr Iach.   Scandal – that’s what local people want to read about!”
"Cegin Gawl may have to move out!"
Gethin’s worry is that Cegin Gawl may have to move out, and he hurries off.
"What should I buy DJ?"
In APD, Gemma asks if a gift card would be a better present than a CD;  Diane tries to put her mind at rest.
"He was worried about singing"
“Dai and Cadno visited DJ yesterday, and they say he’s more popular than Noddy Holder this time of year – he was worried about singing at some concert.”   Gemma enquires whether he asked about her, and Diane tells her to speak to Cadno.
"You can't just throw us out!"
Then Sioned comes strutting in, followed by Gethin;  “We’ve got a contract with the Antur – you can’t just throw us out!” rages Sioned.    Gethin adds that Kelly told him everything, and that she is writing an article on the Vaping company.
“Vaping is not illegal, is it?” responds Diane,
"No-one is being thrown out!"
“No-one is being thrown out – they only want one unit.”   Sioned and Gethin leave, rather deflated.
"I'm taking Angela shopping"
Debbie calls on Angela, and is told by Eifion that he is going shopping with Angela;  however Angela reveals she is going for a scan.
"Scan?   Ooh, you're pregnant!"
“Scan?   Ooh, you’re pregnant!” shouts Debbie, but Angela points out it is not that sort of scan.
"I fainted a few times"
As Eifion goes to fill up the car before their journey, Angela continues that she has fainted a few times, and Eifion thinks it is the end of the world.
"Eifion has been spoiling me"
When told that Eifion has been spoiling her, Debbie is sceptical, maintaining that Eifion could not find ‘spoil’ in the dictionary, and insinuating that there must be another reason.
Gemma goes to Penrhewl to asks how DJ was, and Cadno replies, “He’s not being bullied.
"He was trying to protect the farm"
He was trying to protect the farm by buying the gun.”
"But it wasn't him, was it?"
“But it wasn’t him, was it?” says Gemma, “He told me everything before the trial, but I won’t tell anyone.”
"I do feel very guilty"
Cadno confesses that she feels very guilty, but he will be back with her in a couple of weeks.
Gemma thinks they should organise a party for him;  “Just a small do, with his closest friends – you, me, Dai and Diane.   It’s the least you can do, considering.   I’ll help with the food.”
Gemma gives her a tin of Fox's biscuits
When she asks if DJ mentioned her, Cadno replies that he really enjoyed her company last week, and that he thinks the world of her.
"I don't want to leave Nicky"
The baby is back from the surgery, but Vicky is reluctant to leave him in case he wants his mother.
"He'll get a cwtch from Grandad Mark"
“He’ll get a cwtch from Grandad Mark, you’ve done all you can,” Mark tells her, “Now go and earn money, serving food and drink to posh people.   You’re a good mother, and don’t let anyone say different.”
"Nicky's had his jabs this morning"
Debbie chases after Sheryl;  “I want you to know that Nicky has his jabs this morning – don’t pretend you care!
"You were horrible to Vicky!"
You were horrible to Vicky – it’s a good job she has a lot of support.”
Diane tries to scotch this story
Diane finds Kelly in the Deri, talking to PC Parry;  “There’s no truth in the stories you’re spreading!” she exclaims.   Kelly has already ditched that story and is working on the Boiler Vandals scoop, which Wiliam suspects was caused by youngsters.
Gethin looks pleased with himself
At the bar, Gethin smiles and take a a swig of lager.
Sioned asks Diane, “Are you happy that they sell plastic cigarettes?   You’d better find out about it – you know how quickly stories spread round here!”
"It was caused by young boys"
Ffion comes in and Gethin tells her that young boys are responsible for the vandalism of the boiler.   Ffion hopes they are soon caught.
Cadno sorts though the photos
As they sort through photos which Cadno wants to send to DJ, Gemma admits she likes him,
"The last thing I need is a boyfriend"
“As a friend.   I’m trying to sort myself out, and the last thing I need is a boyfriend.”   Cadno also affirms that there is nothing between them, and there will not be,
"He's too good a worker to upset"
as he is too good a worker to upset.   Gemma offers to post the package on her way back into the village.
"You should mention it to Wiliam"
In the Deri, Ffion asks Gethin if he has mentioned the prowler at the garage to Wiliam, and thinks the two incidents may be connected.   “He seems confident that he will catch them,” she says,
After a bit of thought, perhaps he will
and Gethin thinks perhaps he will go and have a word.
"They produce outdoor equipment"
Diane has called up the Awyr Iach website on her phone, and reads out to Sioned and Kelly, “They produce outdoor equipment of the highest standard for Wales and beyond.”
"You're flirting with the owner!"
Sioned takes the phone and soon comments, “Does Dai know you’re flirting with the owner?”   Diane rapidly seizes the phone, as Sioned continues, “No wonder you agreed behind Dai’s back.    This bloke seems to have you wrapped round his little finger!”
Angela is now more sympathetic to her clients
After her scan, Angela tells Eifion, “I won’t be so indifferent to clients who have a scan from now on – it was not a nice experience!”   As Eifion bustles off to make her a cup of tea,
"Why are you being so nice to me?"
she comments, “I’ll start to suspect there’s something going on – I don’t know why you’re being so nice to me.”
"I've been taking you for granted"
He admits that her funny turns lately have made him realise he takes her for granted.
"If something should happen to you . . ."
“If anything should happen to you, I don’t know what I’d do!”
She looks confident to his face . . .
Angela assures him that the scan results are going to be clear,
. . . but when he is not looking . . .
but when he returns to the kitchen, she does not look so confident.
"I was out with a broken-down car"
Gethin catches up with Wiliam in the café and tells him that he was out in the early hours, as he had a call about a broken-down car.   Then Wiliam asks where Ricky was, as a witness saw someone matching his description.
"He was in bed, all night"
Debbie assures him that Ricky was in bed all night, adding,
"Chester's bad news these days!"
“I hope you’re going to Y Felin – Chester’s bad news these days!”
Will that go in the letter box . . . ?
Back in the village, Gemma hesitates by the letter box,
. . . no, in the bin it goes!   The old Gemma is returning
then puts the package instead in the conveniently adjacent wheely bin.
"Is this spanner anything to do with that boiler?"
Ffion has her suspicions, and when Gethin returns, she picks up the spanner, enquiring, “Is this anything to do with the boiler business?
"There wasn't a prowler, was there?"
There wasn’t a prowler at the garage, was there?”
"I wanted to move the situation along!"
He lamely replies that he wanted to move the situation along, and that she does not want to wait a couple of years.
"I need a couple of years"
“I need a couple of years – no-one is going to give a job to an ex-alcoholic at this early stage!” exclaims Ffion, “I appreciate you’re trying to help, but getting arrested for criminal damage won’t do that!   I hope no-one suspects you – I’ll never get the job then!”
Who is this, creeping into Maes-y-Deri?
All is quiet at Maes-y-Deri as Sheryl enters through the back door, with flowers and a gift for Vicky.
Mark is sound asleep
She sees Mark, fast asleep on the sofa and Nicky in his pram.
Sheryl turns off the gas . . .
Turning off the gas under the eggs boiling on the cooker, she says to Nicky,
. . . suggests a walk to Nicky . . .
“Don’t cry – you don’t want to wake Mark.   It’s not fair, is it, getting left here on your own?   Why don’t you come for a walk?   Would you like that?
. . . who appears to be quite amenable to the idea . . .
Come on, but not a sound.”
. . . and stealthily exits with the baby
Picking up the flowers and present, she silently creeps out of the door with the pram.
