Ffion tells him, “She’ll never say anything negative about you, will she? She knows how much we want this child.”

| Gethin sounds remarkably cheerful . . . |
Gethin is getting on Colin’s nerves as he sings Calon Lan while preparing vegetables for the soup kitchen.

Gethin tells Colin that if the plumber fixed the boiler at the kitchen, he would not have to be here. Meanwhile, Iolo is working under the sink;

then he finds a leaflet on Humanist Burial, which Colin tells him to put in the bin.

Later, Colin sneaks back into the house and retrieves the leaflet.

| "Jinx is worried about today" |
Ffion calls at Meic’s house to see Kelly; “Jinx is worried you’ll say something terrible about him,” she tells Kelly, who responds,

| "After all you've done to him!" |
“You’re worried about Jinx, after all you’ve done to him? He told me everything – you sleeping with Macs, lying about Arwen! How could you?”

| "Don't ruin Jinx's chances" |
Ffion pleads with her not to ruin Jinx’s chances, but Kelly sneers, “If anyone is spoiling things for Jinx, it’s you!”

| "Why didn't you answer my calls?" |
When Hywel visits the salon, complaining that Sheryl has not answered his calls all weekend,

| "I was busy, just like I'm busy now!" |
she replies that she was busy, as indeed she is busy now. He leaves when Garry comes in; he warns Sheryl, “You deserve better – you know I’m right!”

Then Dani catches them talking, and he gives her the phone which she left in the bathroom. Sheryl asks Dani if she will look after the salon at lunchtime, as she is going out.

| "I'll phone you later," whispers Ffion |
Gethin bumps into Ffion at the café, but she simply tells him she will phone him later.

| Colin has been considering his mortality |
Colin goes to the Deri for a quiet word with Siôn; Meic’s illness has made him think about his own mortality. “Everyone thinks the world of Meic,” he says, “It would be nice to think that people would say, ‘Colin was a special bloke!’”
Kelly comes bursting in, wanting to do some more filming,

and when Jinx finds her there, he is concerned that she should be at the interview.

| "Are you completely sure about this adoption business?" |
She asks him, “Are you completely sure about this adoption business? Are Ffion and you sorted? Can you cope with the strain?”

Jinx insists that nothing is going to stop them.

Later, when the interview takes place at Meic’s house, Kelly is asked to describe Huw Jenkins in her own words. She says that he will not let anyone down, but tries to please everyone. She insists that Jinx will make a great dad, as he is to Arwen

| Garry is doing some surveillance |
Hywel waits in the Deri for Sheryl, with Garry keeping an eye on him from the bar. When Sheryl arrives, she gets the usual spiel, “I’ve missed you, that’s why I wanted to hear your voice.

| "Yes, until you took that phone call!" |
“You’re not too busy with Gaynor, then?” replies Sheryl. When he says that Friday was special, she agrees, “Yes, until you took that phone call!” He asks her to call this evening as Gaynor will be out; “I have to see you!”

| Garry wants to talk some sense into her |
When Sheryl leaves, Garry follows and takes her to his flat;

| Dani saw them together, and has her suspicions |
Dani happens to be cleaning in the doorway of the salon and sees them.

| Garry warns her about Hywel |
Garry warns Sheryl that she will get hurt; “Men like Hywel don’t care about anyone but themself.

“You’re a great girl, Sher,” he says, as he holds her hand, but then Dani appears on the scene.

| "Did you really think I'd believe that?" |
What’s going on?” she demands, “I’ve seen those looks between you! What about that trip to Swansea? No, hold on, Cardiff! Did you really think I’d believe that?”
Garry admits he was in Swansea, arranging a surprise for her, and Sheryl says she was with someone else, but will not specify who.

Upon further interrogation by Dani, Garry reveals that it was, “Hywel Llywelyn!” and Sheryl says she did not mention it as she feels ashamed.

When Sheryl has left, Garry says, “What is important, and what I don’t understand, is that you still don’t trust me!”

Jinx sets up the camera in the Deri and urges the customers to behave naturally; Colin asks if he can say something, but Jinx tells him, “This is a community film, not an opportunity for a star turn!”

Colin goes to sit with Debbie, telling her that Meic’s heart has always been in Cwmderi.

When Kelly comes in and jokes to Jinx, “They’ll be nuts to let you adopt after what I’ve said about you!” he hugs her,

as Ffion glowers from the other end of the bar, and Gethin beckons to her.

| "I think I don't deserve you" |
As Garry prepares to go and collect Gwern, Dani confesses, “I do trust you, but sometimes I think I don’t deserve you, that you’d be better off with someone else!”

Garry assures her, “I don’t want to be with anyone else! From now on, I’ll tell you everything. Want to know what I had for lunch?”

| Colin is persuaded to face the camera . . . |
Colin has written a poem, and at Debbie’s insistence, stands up to read it to the camera. “This is for you, Meic,” he says.

We all want to be heroes, but only some of us are;
We all think that we’re right before things go wrong.
We all want to leave something important behind,
And we want everyone to think, ‘He wasn’t half bad’;
And even when we’re feeling low, after failing time after time,
At least we tried before giving up.
The customers applaud, Debbie gives him a hug and Siôn compliments him.

Ffion slips surreptitiously through the front door of number 7, kisses Gethin,

| They are a blur as they rush upstairs |
and only has time to take off her coat before they head, this time at breakneck speed, up the stairs.

| "Being a mistress . . . should I be happy with that?" |
Sheryl visits Llwyncelyn, where Hywel has the wine ready and tells her, “You deserve to be treated properly!” Sheryl interrupts, “For putting up with being a mistress? Wine, and an odd afternoon at a hotel – should I be happy with that?”

He protests, “It’s not like that!” but Sheryl will not be put off. “You made it clear on Friday – Gaynor comes first! I understand – this or nothing – that’s the choice. You know what? I deserve better than this. It’s over!
