Ffion hears the good news . . .

Ffion is on the phone, and then announces to Jinx that the accusation has been dropped;  

. . . which greatly pleases Jinx

he is overjoyed and hugs her, although he is still doubtful about her feelings.   When she says that it looks as if things are moving again, he asks, 

"This is what I've always wanted"

“You do want this, don’t you?” and she assures him this is what she has always wanted.

He then starts thinking about sorting out Arwen’s old stuff at lunchtime, to see what can be saved for the little one, and work out a colour scheme for the spare room.

"You didn't phone the police then?"

As Sioned and Ed emerge from the Deri, they meet Garry;  “You didn’t phone the police then?   Oh, sorry, didn’t she know?” says Garry.   Sioned drags Ed back inside, telling him that he is going to explain everything to her.   

Garry finds it very amusing

Garry stands outside the garage and smiles broadly.

"I can find my own way to APD!"

Gemma insists on accompanying Gwyneth to APD, and advises, “I’m not sure this is the right job for you – I know how APD treat their staff!”

"Oh, you want to get away from me"

Gwyneth replies, “It pays, and I get to leave the house,” which Gemma takes to mean leaving her.   “At last the truth!” she moans and stomps back to the house.

"Have a good trip?"

Gethin comes out of number 7 just as Iolo arrives back from his weekend trip;  Iolo does not take seriously Gethin’s apology for his behaviour last week.   

Gethin makes his apology

Gethin continues, “I want you to know I had my reasons.   I got dumped, and I don’t want you to make the same mistakes!”

"You should fight for her"

Iolo does not want to hear his excuses or his advice;  “Whoever this girl is, she means a lot to you, so you should fight for her,” but Gethin tells him it is not that simple.   “Oh, she’s with someone else, and she’s chosen him?”

"You'll have to let her go"

Gethin is insistent that he could offer her so much more, so Iolo reckons he should be telling her this.   “I have, but she doesn’t want to know,” wails Gethin, and Iolo advises him to let her go.

Ed brings Sioned up to date with the car-stealing business

Ed tells Sioned that Garry threatened him;  “He said if I phoned the police he would take you down with him!   And now Dani is doing your old job.”

Sioned cannot believe this;  

Sioned's nose has made a miraculous recovery over the weekend

“Dani?   You can’t go to the police – do you want to lose me?   Accept it, you can’t win;  be stronger than Garry and just walk away.”

Jinx is somewhat puzzled . . .

Kelly is at Jinx’s again, and is making a cup of tea as he tells her the accusation has been dropped;  “One thing worries me – this happened just after we had a chat last week.   I think you know who did it.”

. . . but Kelly denies all knowledge

Kelly is emphatic that it was nothing to do with her, and Jinx says, 

"Nothing else is important"

“I don’t believe you, but it doesn’t matter – we’re going to adopt!   Nothing else is important.”

Jim teaches Gwyneth the ropes . . .

At APD, Jim is back, and is briefing Gwyneth about how they work, 

. . . while all Dai does is complain

and Dai moans, “It’s a good job not everyone turns their back on APD to run away to Aberdeen!”   Jim protests that his brother has been in a coma, and warns Dai there will be trouble when Diane finds out.   “I’d like to have been consulted about this reshuffle,” he complains.

Gwyneth calls a halt to the arguing

As the accusations fly between them, Gwyneth interrupts, “I didn’t take this job to listen to you two arguing!”   Dai tells her to go and make the coffee then, but Gwyneth retorts, 

"You know where the kettle is!"

“You know where the kettle is!   If I wanted to fill mugs, I would have got a job at the café!”   Jim decides to make the coffee.

Diane is almost speechless

At that moment, Diane walks in and is greeted by Gwyneth;  Diane stops in amazement and demands, “What’s she doing behind the counter?”   Dai tells her he was going to explain, but she turns round and marches out, with Dai chasing after her.   

"Welcome to APD"

Jim turns to Gwyneth and comments, “Welcome to APD!”

Dai tries to explain . . .

When Dai catches up with her, he says that Gwyneth was the only candidate with any idea about the job.   

. . . but Diane should have been consulted . . . 

Diane points out she should have been consulted, as she does own one-third of the business.   Dai reminds her, “You walked out, not me!” and she storms off.

. . . then Jim gets the blame

Dai then blames Jim for going off to Scotland, “to play the bagpipes” and leaving Eileen to persuade him to employ Gwyneth.

"I'm better at stealing car keys than Dani!"

While Gethin works on a car, Sioned comes for a word with Garry.   She tells him that Ed informed her about, “You and Dani and the stealing.   Are you scared he’ll phone the police?” and she is adamant that Dani is not as good as her.

"Don't tell me you're jealous?"

“Don’t tell me you’re jealous?” replies Garry, “We made a good team until your boyfriend put a stop to it!”   Sioned informs him that Ed does not tell her what to do, and Garry could make some excuse to Dani, so they could resume where they left off.

“You’re a very determined woman.   If another job comes up, I may be in touch,” he tells her, 

She will shop him to Social Services

but this is not enough for Sioned.   “If I hear you’ve done another job with Dani, I’ll sort you out!” she threatens, “I’ll go straight to Social Services – I’m sure they would like to hear that Gwern has a dangerous father!   Try another job and you’ll find out!”

Ffion is home at lunchtime . . .

Ffion returns home at lunchtime in a strange mood, telling Jinx she does not deserve him.   

. . . but does not appear to be hungry . . .

He has prepared lunch for them, but she says she is not hungry and kisses him passionately several times, saying, 

. . . in fact appears to want something else . . .

“We’re celebrating!”

Gwyneth gets an unpleasant surprise at work

Gwyneth is surprised to see Gemma at APD;  she has come to see how she is getting on, and has brought her lunch.   When Gwyneth says she should go, Gemma concludes, “So I’m not welcome here?” 

"I don't want her around the place"

and after she has left, Jim admits that he does not want her around the place either.

Ed is doing a bit of DIY

Ed is tinkering with a faulty kettle when Sioned comes in and announces they should go out and enjoy themselves;  

"Move on and forget Garry"

“Move on and forget about Garry and all that nonsense!”   Then she fantasises about being able to move elsewhere.

"I love you when you're in that sort of mood"

“I love you when you’re in that sort of mood,” smiles Ed, 

Sioned, however, seems to be plotting something

but Sioned is looking smug and pleased with herself.

"I was trying to make a good impression at APD"

Gwyneth gets home and explains that she was trying to make a good impression on her first day, so Gemma moans, “You’re saying I make a bad impression?   Be honest – you don’t want to be seen with me!   I might as well be honest with you;  

"I don't like to be disappointed!"

“you disappointed me today – and I don’t like to be disappointed!”

Before Jinx and Ffion can have a drink . . .

Ffion joins Jinx in the Deri, 

. . . Kelly wants to buy them one, to celebrate the good news

but then Kelly comes in and wants to buy them a celebratory drink;  

"You've told her, then?"

“So you’ve told her then?” says Ffion, but Jinx assures her that no-one else knows.   When Gethin comes in, Kelly tells him she wants a word with him;  

Kelly makes up some story about buying a car

“I want to buy a car, and need some advice,” she tells him, but he bluntly advises her to go and see Garry.

"Stop crawling!"

Dai asks Diane if she wants another G&T;  “Stop crawling!” she replies, 

"You've given the job to a murderer!"

“You’ve made a big mistake, giving Gwyneth a job!   You won’t have any customers left once she starts getting awkward.   She killed Brandon – or have you forgotten?   And she hid the truth for months!   You’ve given the job to a murderer – remember that when the customers go to the yard at Llanarthur!”

"I think you're bluffing"

At the bar, Gethin tells Kelly, “I haven’t told them yet.”   Kelly suspects he is bluffing, but he continues, 

"I shall destroy them when they least expect it!"

“I have to choose the right moment.   I shall destroy everything when they least expect it!”
