Sheryl is still ordering Hywel around

Sheryl orders Hywel to be back by 1:00pm tomorrow, as she does not want to be late for the hospital.   Hywel reassures her that it is only a  check-up and everything will be all right.   

"Oh, she's back!"

Then Sheryl mutters, “Oh, she’s back!” and Gaynor returns from school, complaining that she was so busy, she did not have time for lunch.

"Hywel doesn't like hummus"

Looking at Sheryl’s cooking, she comments, “I hope that’s not for Hywel –he doesn’t like hummus!”   Gaynor looks quite amused when Hywel confirms he cannot stand it.

In the shop Siôn congratulates Colin on the news;  

"I haven't got my head round it"

he replies, “I haven’t been able to get my head round it, and I’m worried about being a father at my age!”   

"It's when they're older that the trouble starts"

Siôn waxes lyrical about the joys of parenthood;  “They’re fine at that age – it’s when they’re older that the trouble starts, isn’t it Gethin?”   Gethin feels embarrassed that he does not know.   “I wouldn’t change my five boys for the world!” Siôn insists.

"Why invite them for a meal!"

Dani is getting flustered;  “Why invite Siôn and Britt for a meal?” she asks Garry, and he answers that Siôn needs to be taught a lesson, as he made Garry feel very small in the shop the other day.

"I'm going to pay him back!"

“I’m going to pay him back,” he says, and when Dani reminds him he does not need the stress, he promises, “I’ll remind Siôn who’s boss!”

Mam is back from school

Ffion returns from school, where she finds Gethin rather thoughtful;  he tells her,

"Colin has a son?"

 “Colin has found out he has a son.   He was talking about raising boys.”

"Arrange to meet him"

Ffion continues, “And you miss Daniel!   Arrange to meet him.   If you miss him, do something about it!”   Gethin is adamant that he is a terrible father and will only hurt Daniel if he has anything to do with him.   

"Daniel will be better if I stay away"

He concludes that he has to stay away, and heads to the park with Arwen;  Ffion chases after them.

A peaceful domestic scene . . .

Gaynor is washing-up, and she and Hywel are humming along to the classical music playing on the radio.   

. . . is shattered by Sheryl and her love songs

Sheryl predictably changes it to a love song channel. and Gaynor strongly objects.   “I always listen to love songs on the radio!” says Sheryl, and Gaynor replies that she has to think of others now.

"What do you want to listen to, Hywel?"

Sheryl appeals to Hywel, “What do you want to listen to – Gaynor’s depressing music or my programme?” and of course he sides with her, so Gaynor leaves to go to the shop.

Hywel asks Sheryl why she is making such a fuss over the radio, 

"I'm fed up with living with her!"

and she answers, “It’s not that – I’m fed up with living with her!”

Ffion cannot persuade Gethin

As they walk along the street, Ffion argues that Daniel would prefer to have Gethin in his life.   “No-one has messed up more than me,” she tells him, “And look at me now!   I’ve turned my life around and made up for the past – you can do the same.   I know you’re scared after what happened with Moc, but you can’t hide for ever – you have to find some backbone – it’s obvious you love Daniel!”

She urges him to phone Natalie and set up a meeting, but he says he does not have her number, and pleads with her, “Please leave things alone.”

"How could you be so careless?"

In the shop, Gaynor is incredulous;  “How could you be so careless?” she demands, “You don’t know this Tessa, how do you know it’s your baby?   She could be telling lies!”

Colin likes the thought of fatherhood

Colin admits that he thought it was a stunt, but is now convinced that Tessa simply wants him to be part of Jac’s life.   Gaynor, on the other hand, suspects that Tessa is looking for support, as she cannot cope, and thinks Colin is naïve and will help out.

"He's the spitting image of Izzy!"

Of course, Colin disagrees;  “You would have no doubts if you saw Jac – he’s the spitting image of Izzy!” but Gaynor points out that all babies look the same.   She warns him to stay away, to avoid being dragged into someone else’s mess.   

"Mess?   You're talking about my son!"

“Mess?”   he demands, “You’re talking about my son!   I know exactly what to do, and if you can’t handle it, that’s your problem!”

Gaynor's demoted picture . . .

Sheryl takes down the picture of Gaynor and her daughters in the hall, replacing it with one of her and Hywel, 

. . . and three more about to go into a drawer

then moves three pictures and two ornaments from the sideboard, placing them in a drawer.

The box of Gethin's papers . . .

Ffion finds a box file of Gethin’s papers, extracts an address book from it, 

. . . containing an address book

but is disappointed to find that Natalie is not mentioned in it.   She goes out and asks Dani, who responds, “Why should I have her address?”   

"He's been pretending for years"

Dani agrees that Gethin has pretended for years that he is unconcerned about not seeing Daniel, and worried that he cannot be a good father.   “Why not phone her?” asks Dani, and when told that Gethin does not have her number, adds, 

Ffion knows what to do next

“Yes he does – in his phone!”

All ready for the family meal

Then Siôn and Britt arrive at the flat with a bottle, closely followed by Garry who has two.

"I want to be part of Jac's life"

As soon as Colin arrives back at number 7, he phones Tessa;  “We agreed you would ring, but there’s no point in waiting.   I’ve made up my mind I want to be part of Jac’s life, so what if we met early next week, to do something nice together – the three of us?”

Siôn is impatient

Seated around the meal table, Siôn says, “Let’s stop this charade and discuss what we are here to discuss.”   Dani asks what that is, and Britt tells her that it is the debt, and that Garry might have cancelled it.

"I wouldn't cancel a £15,000 debt!"

Garry appears horrified;  “Why would I do that?   I wouldn’t cancel a £15,000 debt!”   

"Then what are we here for?"

Siôn demands why they are there, pointing out that Garry had wanted to move on.   

“I’ve decided that you can start paying me back now!” announces Garry, and suggests a figure of £200 per month, which Siôn thinks is a reasonable proposition.

"We need to put a stop to all the nonsense!"

Siôn also maintains if they are putting things behind them, they need to put a stop to all the “nonsense”.   

"You stole £15,000 from Bethania!"

Garry points out, “This nonsense would not have happened if you had not stolen £15,000 from Bethania to buy the Deri!”

Britt snarls to him, “Shut it!” and Dani is amazed that he stole money from the chapel.

“Sorry, it just slipped out!” Garry jokes, but Siôn accuses him of doing it deliberately and calls him a coward.   

"Look in the mirror!"

Garry looks malevolently at him and says, “Look in the mirror!”

"It's weird to think you have a son"

Gaynor goes to number 7 to apologise to Colin, emphasising that she was trying to protect him, and that it is weird to think he has a son.   She tells him he has been a good friend lately.

"They'll be kicked out in the end"

“I don’t want Sheryl and Hywel to think they’ve got the better of me,” she tells Colin, “I tell myself that it’s not for ever – they’ll be kicked out in the end, but by then Sheryl will have had a taste of how nice it is to live there, and moving back to the flat will be more difficult!”

Colin has a photo of his son

Meanwhile Colin has had a message from Tessa, and shows Gaynor a picture of Jac;  “Isn’t he gorgeous?” she says.

"I didn't steal it for myself!"

Siôn mounts a spirited defence of his actions;  “I didn’t steal it for myself – I borrowed the money to buy the Deri for the community, which is the key to the village’s language and culture!”

"Why did you bail him out?"

When Dani is amazed that Garry bailed him out, 

"I couldn't let Siôn White go to prison!"

Garry insists, “I couldn’t let Siôn White go to prison!”   Siôn is terrified that Dani might tell the police.   “I don’t know why you’re panicking,” remarks Garry.

"You want to threaten us!"

“If you can let it slip to Dani, she can let it slip to someone else,” says Siôn, “That’s why you invited us here – you don’t want to move on, you want to threaten us!   

"You'll land me in it!"

“You’re still playing games – if I don’t do what you say, you’ll land me in it!”

"Bear in mind who you're dealing with"

Garry warns Siôn, “A word to the wise - bear in mind who you’re dealing with here!”   Siôn and Britt get up and leave;  

Garry is pleased with his performance

Garry laughs.

Gethin and Arwen are back

Gethin and Arwen return from the park, and he asks Ffion to leave the matter of Daniel;  as soon as he has left the room, 

Ffion finds his phone . . .

she goes though Gethin’s jacket to find his phone.   When he returns with Arwen’s soft toy, 

. . . and hides it in the laundry basket

she secretes the phone in the laundry basket.

"Gaynor will go nuts!"

Hywel gets back to Llwyncelyn to find that Sheryl has changed everything;  He warns her that Gaynor will go nuts, but she replies, “Good – she might move out!”

"Ooh – you have been busy"

Then Gaynor does return, and with a great deal of self-control, remarks appreciatively, “Ooh – you have been busy.   I like these cushions – they’re much nicer than mine, aren’t they, Hywel?”

"What's the matter with her?"

Sheryl is furious, whispering to Hywel, “What’s the matter with her?   Most people would have gone crazy!”   Hywel tries to calm her, but she continues, “We agreed we want her out before the baby comes – so you’d better think of plan B!”

"Pie, chips and peas all right?"

Gethin goes to the chippy for pie, chips and peas;  as soon as he is gone, Ffion retrieves the phone and rings Natalie.   

"Would it be possible for us to meet?"

“This is Ffion, Gethin’s partner.   Would it be possible for us to meet?”
