Gemma leaves the hospital
Sioned and Gemma come out of the hospital to Ed,
Ed is not very welcoming
who is waiting by the car;  the atmosphere seems rather strained
"So you haven't forgiven me"
Eifion is just going on duty;  “So you still haven’t forgiven me,” he says,
She takes no notice
but Angela ignores him.
"It's just a parking ticket!"
“It’s just a parking ticket!   There are more important things in life – like Cadno being in court on Thursday.   If she goes to jail, we have to consider where the boys will live – they will have to come here.”
"How's Cadno?"
DJ is about to get into the 4x4 when Eifion rushes over to enquire how Cadno is, and tells him, “She’s in a terrible state after Eileen’s antics!”
Eileen passes
As Eileen passes, DJ adds in a loud voice, “I told Cadno I’d give Eileen a bit of my mind!”
Eifion still books the 4X4
Eifion then proceeds to issue a ticket to the 4x4;  “Did you think I wouldn’t notice?” he asks.
"Just watch your back!"
DJ furiously answers, “That’s how it is, then!   Just watch your back!”
A car arrives outside the Deri;  Gemma alights and looks around.
Is Sioned here?"
Inside the Deri, Eileen asks Ows if Sioned is there,
They arrive at the Deri
but then she comes in, with Ed and Gemma, who says that Sioned has been very kind to her.   Eileen wants to talk urgently with Sioned, so they leave Gemma and Ed together.
Sioned is excited at the news
At the shop, Eileen tells Sioned and Angela, “I’ve persuaded Jim that we should put in an offer for the café.”   Sioned is excited, telling Eileen that they will make her proud, but Angela is less enthusiastic.
"Happy families, is it?"
At this point, Cadno appears;  “Happy families, is it?   Celebrating turns my stomach these days!”   Angela asks if it is true she could go to prison.   Cadno demands of Eileen, “How do you think I feel after what you’ve done?”
"You fired the gun, not Mam!"
Sioned reminds her that she fired the gun, not Mam, and Cadno replies, “I thought you would be more sympathetic, but you don’t possess an ounce of sympathy – or honesty!   What’s going to happen to the children and the farm?
"You should be in prison after what you've done!"
You should be in prison after what you’ve done!”
Eileen and Angela look puzzled, but then Cadno reveals that Sioned stole the quad from Penrhewl;
"She's lying!"
Sioned in turn accuses her of lying.   Cadno is insistent;  “I have no evidence, but I know Garry was involved, and Sioned told me herself what she had to do!”
Ed asks Gemma, “If things were going well at the hospital, why the rush to leave?”
"They said I was ready"
She replies that there is no rush;  they thought she was ready.
"What have you done to him, Gemma?"
Ed is unconvinced;  “Why are you really here?   I’ve not heard from Andrew for months – what have you done to him, Gemma?”
"Have another word with Eileen"
DJ goes into APD to try and enlist Jim’s help in changing Eileen’s mind, but Jim is sure that he cannot do so.   Then DJ reports that Eifion has just booked him, and he wants to take revenge – with Jim’s help.
"Don't be so childish!"
However, Jim tells him, “Don’t be so childish – there are more important things for you to be worrying about.”
As Eileen and Sioned return to the Deri, Eileen asks about the quad;
"You suspect me?"
Sioned flies off the handle, “You suspect me?   Cadno makes wild, unfounded accusations, and you believe her rather than me!   Thanks a bunch, Mam!”
"I hope you're telling the truth"
Eileen warns her, “I hope you’re telling the truth.   I could always ask Angela to run the café on her own.”
"Good luck with that!"
“Good luck with that!” Sioned answers, “Angela’s not interested in the café – you need me there, or it’s not going to work!   Cadno wants to hurt you, as you are still angry with each other, and what better way than to start a quarrel with me and Angela?   I’ve never stolen a car with Garry – car, quad, you know what I mean!”   The truth begins to dawn upon Eileen.
DJ spies Eileen's car . . .
DJ comes round the corner, sees Eileen’s car parked near the zebra crossing markings, finds the door unlocked,
. . . and moves it a couple of feet
releases the handbrake and moves the car a few feet, on to the markings.   He notices that Eifion is on the prowl.
Gemma tells her tale
When Sioned arrives in the Deri flat, Gemma is telling Ed what happened with her father.   “We had an argument – he insisted that I should get help.   I refused, and lost the plot, stealing his money and phone.   I was horrible to him, he was heart-broken and went back to the rigs, as we couldn’t see any way back for us.”
"I can understand why he wants nothing to do with you"
“I understand now why he doesn’t want anything to do with you,” says Sioned, but Gemma insists that she and her Dad are fine now, that he lives in Swansea and comes to see her quite often.   She cannot live with him as he reminds her of the past.
"Where's the proof that my brother's alive?"
Ed tells her, “You can talk all you like, but where’s the proof that my brother’s alive?
"Oh – answering machine!"
She gets her phone, dials a number, but gets an answering machine.   “How stupid do you think we are?” demands Ed.
Gemma jumps up;  “You want proof - come with me!”
Eileen sees Eifion in action
Eileen finds her car being given a ticket and insists she did not park there;
"That's what they all say!"
“That’s what they all say!” remarks Eifion.
"You moved that car!"
Jim approaches and says the car was parked legally, but Eifion must have moved it.   Eileen is furious and tells Jim he is paying for this ticket.
"Don't you want to run the café?"
Then she goes to Angela’s where she reports what Eifion has done, and asks, “Is it true that you’ve got no interest in running the café?”
"I enjoy what I do"
Angela admits that she enjoys what she does, and does not want to become her little sister’s skivvy.   She only agreed for Sioned’s sake.
Eileen rages, “I love it when both my daughters lie to me!”
"You're afraid Cadno told the truth!"
and Angela diagnoses that she is afraid that what Cadno said is true.
Andrew is alive and well
Gemma takes Ed and Sioned to a hotel, where Andrew, who is the chef, comes to meet them.
"Now do you believe me?"
“Now do you believe me?” demands Gemma.
Andrew surmises that Ed suspected her of hurting him, and Sioned demands, “What was he supposed to think, when you haven’t been in touch for months?”
Andrew explains to them
Andrew explains that he took the job to be close to Gemma;  he finds it hard to think that he spent twelve years in prison for her, and then she turned against him.
"Why didn't you get in touch?"
When pressured by Ed to say why he had not been in touch, he admits, “I was embarrassed that my daughter was refusing my help, and thought I was letting you down too.”
"We'll make sure Gemma gets the help she needs"
Ed assures him that if Gemma cannot bring herself to live with her father, he and Sioned will make sure she gets the support she needs.
The brothers are reconciled
He shakes his brother’s hand.
Andrew tells Gemma, “I don’t think I will ever understand,”
Gemma hugs her father
then hugs her before she leaves.
Planning revenge on Eifion
In the Deri, where Jim has now come round to DJ’s way of thinking about Eifion, DJ stresses that they have to stick together, “And show his nibs who’s boss,” although he has not yet worked out what they can do.
"Eileen wouldn't change her mind"
Later, when DJ gets back to Penrhewl, Cadno bemoans the fact that Eileen did not change her mind when she went to the shop.   Then Eifion (off-duty) and Angela arrive;  “Have I parked the tractor in the wrong place?” says DJ.
"We'll look after the boys"
They have come to wish Cadno the best for Thursday, and to tell her that they will look after the boys.   Cadno is angry again;
"You think I'm going to prison!"
“Is that why you came?   You think I’m going to prison?   I don’t want your support – you only make things worse, not better!”
"I've been helping Gemma"
Sioned goes to the Deri and tells her mother how she has been helping Gemma.
"I'm not buying the café"
Eileen reveals that she has changed her mind;  she will not be buying the café.
"You can't do that!"
After Sioned has had her tantrum,
"I know you stole that quad!"
Eileen continues, “I know you stole that quad – there’s no way I’m going into business with you!”
"Cadno's ruined everything!"
When Sioned accuses Cadno of ruining everything, Eileen tells her, “No, you’ve ruined it for yourself, once again!”
"She's going to pay for this!"
Sioned rants, “You don’t want to listen to me, but if Cadno says one bad thing against me, you believe that!   That court case will be nothing by the time I’m finished with her!   I don’t know where or when, but she’s going to pay for this!”
