At the Deri, Gemma invites Anita to tea in the garden at Bryntirion at 4.00pm, but Anita says she has to see the meat supplier. Diane encourages her to come, as Gemma has gone to so much trouble, so she agrees.

Gwyneth has been listening to this exchange,

and when Gemma has gone, but is eavesdropping nearby, tells Diane,

| "Gemma's delusional!" |
“I don’t expect you to believe me, but I’m worried you’re in danger. Gemma’s delusional – when she doesn’t get her own way she’s dangerous! You know that accident Dani had with the toaster – Gemma caused it deliberately!”

Diane rejects what she says; “Next you’ll be telling us it was Gemma who started the fire that killed Brandon! Stop stirring – we all know who’s the dangerous one in Cwmderi!”
Gwyneth begs her, “If it goes pear-shaped, watch yourself, please.” Diane comments to Anita that it would not surprise her if it was Gwyneth who fiddled with the toaster.
Colin asks Ed if he has had any luck with the metal detector, and Ed replies that he has found a tin of plasters, three nails and a 5p coin.

Sioned comes across with an urgent taxi job for Ed, a woman who has been let down by Mynach Cabs.

| Debbie promises a luxury bench |
Debbie approaches, on the campaign trail, telling them if she is elected there will be a replacement large comfortable bench, which will be the focal point of the village, with a sign, “In memory of Meic! I hope you’ll all put a tick in the right box next week!”

Not to be outdone, Colin announces, “We need more than a few planks of wood to remember Meic. If I’m elected I’ll think of something more suitable.”
Sioned is puzzled; “Meic hasn’t died, has he?”

| The alfresco tea at Bryntirion |
In the garden at Bryntirion, Gemma brings food to add to the lavish spread; Diane is concerned to see her wearing Emma’s cardigan, which she found in the attic. There is breakfast tea and Lapsang Souchong, smoked salmon and chocolate cake.
When Gemma goes to fetch the milk, Diane says she would have preferred to eat indoors,

but Anita remarks, “At least out here she can’t electrocute us!”

| Ed asks Eifion for a favour |
Ed goes to Angela’s to ask a favour of Eifion; to go and pick up the taxi customer for him. Eifion points out he does not have a taxi licence or the necessary insurance, but when Ed insists he has to search for the missing watch, he agrees, as long as he can keep the fare.

| Dani is taking her surveillance task seriously |
Dani has been following Hywel around and is still watching him as he sits in the Deri; Gaynor comes in and tells him she is worried about Sheryl. “Well, you shouldn’t have sent the photo!” replies Hywel, “She has had an operation, and will be in hospital for a week – happy now?”

| Mal and Gwynfor are "taking the mickey" |
Hearing some laughter, they turn to see Mal and Gwynfor, cuddled up close together, taking a “selfie” of themselves. “Grow up, will you!” snarls Gaynor, and walks out, followed by Hywel. Dani too leaves the Deri.
Eileen sits outside the shop with a cup of tea and tells Angela she has not has a single customer this afternoon.

Colin joins them, with his draft for a plaque to go on the bench, “In memory of Meic.”

Eileen says she did not know that he had died, and adds, “The world will be a poorer place without him.”

Gemma offers Anita another slice of cake, which she declines; then Gemma suggests they could all go to Angela’s Healthy Eating Club, or even to the Book Club. Anita makes the excuse that she must go and get ready for her shift at the Deri.

As soon as she has gone, Gemma starts, “She doesn’t like me, does she? The minute I mention doing something together she rushes off.

“This is Gwyneth’s fault – I have no chance in Cwmderi while she’s around. She’s determined to scupper my happiness. Anita believes her and soon you will too.

She jumps up in a fury and overturns the table,

much to Diane’s horror, then walks away.

At Llwyncelyn, Hywel and Gaynor are still bickering; “You’ve been unfaithful to her and me and dozens of other women – it’s time you took the responsibility!”
Hywel assures her that he hates himself for what he did to Sheryl and to her, coming out with the usual,

“What we had was special!” Then he changes tack; “The final nail in the coffin was the abortion; I sometimes think things could have been so different. We could face the future together again!”

Eifion’s fare counts out the money in small change, and gives him a 5p tip. He is offended, demanding, “Is that all?” He returns the 5p, saying “Stuff you! Get out!”

As he drives away, the woman looks disgusted.

As Diane clears up the debris in the garden, Gemma returns and tells her, “I’m sure you think there’s something wrong with me, and everything Gwyneth said was true. You don’t believe Gwyneth, do you? That I caused Dani’s accident? I was listening, as I wanted to know what she was saying about me.”

Diane tries to reassure her that she has to put things behind her, or she will never move forward. She is shocked when Gemma admits,

“But it’s true – every word! I was in a bad place, I’d never have done it otherwise, my head was all over the shop! You don’t know how good it is to confess to someone who understands. It’s behind me now – I haven’t felt any anger towards you, like I did to Gwyneth – I’d never do such a thing to you!”

When asked by Diane what she did to Gwyneth, she replies, “I was the one bullying her, but with your support, I’ve changed. I’ll never hurt anyone again!”

When Anita passes the shop, Eileen comes out and says how sorry she is to hear about Meic; Anita is angry, and stresses that Meic has not died.

Colin has joined them, and blames Debbie, who was trying to win votes.

At that moment, Debbie is admiring the poster she has put up in the café window; Anita lambasts her,

“I’ve never heard of anything so tasteless – using Meic’s illness to win votes! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Take the posters down before someone else thinks Meic’s gone!”
In the Deri, Ed reports to Eifion that he has had no luck with finding the watch,

then Sioned complains to Ed about his treatment of the taxi customer. “You were rude to a fare, telling her to stuff her tip! What on earth were you thinking?”

Eifion comments that Ed should have known better, and Ed assures Sioned it will not happen again.

| "I can't stop thinking about you" |
Hywel continues working on Gaynor; “I feel so guilty – Sheryl’s in hospital and I can’t stop thinking about you.”

Gaynor reminds him that he is going to be a father soon, and she cannot afford to get close to him.

He whines, “I’ve lost everything, I’m homeless and Sheryl doesn’t want to know me! Are you sure you can’t forgive me?”

As he leans forward to kiss her, the next step in his plan, they hear the sound of a phone ringing;

dashing to the door, Gaynor finds Dani loitering outside. She tells them that Sheryl sent her to keep an eye on Hywel.

He is quick to tell her, “I don’t know what you heard, but there’s nothing going on with Gaynor, right?”

| "Hywel! You've done it again!" |
Gaynor is understandably furious; “Hywel! You’ve done it again! Made me feel sorry for you – then the minute you get a better offer, you’re off! But you’ve done it for the last time!

“Get out, and take her with you!” she shouts, pushing Hywel out of the door.

| "Please don't hate me" |
In the garden, Gemma approaches a startled Diane; “Please don’t hate me – no-one makes me feel so safe! I’ve not wanted to hurt or upset anyone since you’ve been looking after me. You and Dai are the best thing that’s happened to me. Don’t send me away – I’ve nowhere else to go, and I’m scared of being on my own. Please let me stay and prove that I can change.”

Diane reluctantly agrees, and Gemma hugs her, saying,
