Councillor Collins, behind the counter
In the café, Hywel congratulates Debbie on her victory, and she points out the altered wording on her blackboard.
"I'll do some paperwork at the salon"
Then he tells Sheryl that he has to go;  she thinks she will do some of the salon paperwork.
“I see you’re giving him another chance, despite the fact he’s messed up with both of you,” comments Debbie to Sheryl, who responds,
"Gaynor can't keep her hands off him"
“Just because Gaynor can’t keep her hands off him!”
Gaynor is thinking
Gaynor is sitting in the Deri, looking glum, so Colin comes over to her;  she has some flowers for Sheryl, who was not there when she called.
"This business is preying on my mind"
“This business is preying on my mind,” she tells him.   Colin reminds her that Hywel is not exactly blameless, but she insists, “I want to draw a line under it, so I don’t have to keep avoiding her.”
Colin now has to find something else to do with his life;
"Councillor Colin Evans!"
“I must admit, ‘Councillor Colin Evans’ had a ring to it!” he says, ruefully.
Siôn praises him
Siôn emphasises that he should be proud that he stood for election.
Ffion is off her food
Ffion cannot face eating any toast, and when Gethin asks if she wants to come out with him to fetch Arwen and get some fresh air, she refuses, in case Gaynor sees them.   So he suggests she will feel better after a shower, but she snaps,
"If I want a shower, I'll have one!"
“If I want a shower, I’ll have one!   I can’t help myself with you babysitting every minute of the day!”
Gethin leaves, taking the phone with him, and warning that he will lock the door;  “Leave me alone for once!” shouts Ffion.
Sioned arrives, bearing chocolates
Sioned takes chocolates for Auntie Marian, who is slowly improving, and says that she is worried about Cadno;  “It’s hard not to be, with things as they are.”
Cadno starts ranting again
Cadno tells her, “Nowhere is safe in this world, but I’m going to make sure this place is as safe as it can be.”   When Sioned points out it is more like a prison than a home, Cadno continues, “This is for everyone’s benefit – can’t you see that?   Everyone points the finger, but they won’t make me change my mind!”
Arwen, on the way home with Gethin
As Gethin brings Arwen home, they meet Gaynor, with her flowers;  she asks how Ffion is, but Gethin dissuades her from visiting, in case she catches something.
"I can give these to her, if you like"
I can give these to her, if you like,” he says, and Gaynor hands over the flowers.
A frosty relationship
As Sheryl leaves the café, she meets Gaynor in the doorway.   Debbie comments that she wishes she had six weeks off, and says she will be even busier now with her council commitments.
"I'm here for everyone"
“I’m here for everyone, not just those who voted for me,” she assures Gaynor.
Diane wants to work together with Debbie
Diane comes in to congratulate Debbie, and to hope that they can work together as a team on the council.   Debbie’s response is, “Thanks, but no thanks!”
"Sheryl, can I come to see you?"
Gaynor phones Sheryl and asks if she can come round;  when Sheryl agrees, she breathes a sigh of relief.
"We're all under pressure"
Out in the farmyard in the rain, DJ tells Sioned that they are all under pressure;  “I don’t see how things can improve, especially now,” he laments.   “When the police came to investigate, they took the gun with them, but now she’s got her hands on another one, illegally!
"I'm scared she'll do something stupid again!"
She won’t take any notice of me, and I’m scared she’ll do something stupid again!”
Sioned turns round and goes back into the farmhouse.
Ffion retrieves the empty bottles from the cupboard, and tries to extract the last few drops from each one;
Ffion extracts the last dregs . . .
she does not notice Gethin and Arwen come in.
. . . and Gethin has the evidence
As she drains the third one, Gethin takes a photo on his phone;  furious, she rushes at him, and they tussle, as Arwen watches.
"Look at that!"
“Tell me, demands Gethin, “Does that look like a woman who doesn’t need help?”
Arwen is blissfully ignorant
As Arwen looks up at them, Ffion breaks down;
"What am I going to do?"
“What am I going to do?” she sobs.
I know about the gun!"
When Sioned announces that she knows about the gun, and stresses that it is dangerous and illegal, Cadno replies,
"I'm allowed to defend myself!"
“I’m allowed to defend myself from whoever is threatening my livelihood!”
"I stole the quad!"
Sioned tells her, “No-one is threatening you!   I know who stole the quad – it was me!”   Cadno predictably does not believe her, but Sioned insists that it is true.
Gaynor enters, with some trepidation
Gaynor hesitantly enters the salon and presents Sheryl with a replacement bunch of flowers;  she says,
She gives a profuse apology
“I want to end this personal war of ours.   When I sent that picture, I hit out without thinking.   I didn’t intend to hurt you or the baby, and I’m terribly sorry.   I want you to know I’m not going to fight for Hywel – there’s no turning back after what happened.   I won’t cause you any more problems.”
Sheryl does not look particularly happy
Sheryl, who has been silent up until now, says that she wants to believe her, and asks if Gaynor would like a cup of tea.
"Why Penrhewl?"
Cadno demands, “Why Penrhewl?” and Sioned replies that she is familiar with the farm.   “Things must be bad for you and Ed, if you have to steal from your family!”
"I assumed the insurance would pay out"
Sioned admits that Ed knows nothing about it;  “If I’m being completely honest, it gave me a buzz.   I took it for granted that the insurance would pay out.”
"And that makes it all right, does it?"
Cadno snarls, “And that makes it all right, does it?   You weren’t sorry enough to tell me earlier – why tell me at all?   Knowing you, there must be a reason.”   Sioned replies that it is simply to stop her paranoia.
Cadno will not be placated;  “The threat’s still there – you’ve made the farm more of a target!   I should report you to the police!”
Sioned calmly tells her that she would simply deny it;  “I’d say you were off your head – the police already think that!”
"Get out of Penrhewl!"
Cadno wonders who is worse, Sioned or her mother, and orders Sioned out of the farm.
DJ tries to tell Cadno he is on her side
When DJ comes back in, he tells Cadno that he is on her side, and that is why he told Sioned about the gun.
"The worst will soon be over"
Gethin gives Ffion a glass of water and tries to encourage her;  “If you can stay on the wagon until after the weekend, the worst will be over, then I hope you can start again.”    She doubts whether she can do this, and cannot ask him to look after her all day.
"I should ask for professional help"
“I think I should ask for professional help,” she admits, but Gethin thinks this a bad idea, as Social Services could find out and take away Arwen.
"Let's keep it to ourselves for now"
He advocates keeping the matter secret for now.
As he tells her that he is not pressuring her, she realises,
"I'm just as weak as ever"
“I thought I was strong enough, that I had too much to lose, but I’m just as weak as ever!”
“The first step is to admit you need help, and you’ve done that,” he assures her, and gives her the flowers from Gaynor.   When Ffion says she does not know how to thank him, he replies, “Start by promising to try and eat some dinner.”
Sioned does not want any involvement with the gun
DJ finds Sioned in the Deri and asks her, “What are we going to do about the gun?”   She says she has done her best and wants no more to do with it.
Sheryl and Gaynor talk
Sheryl and Gaynor engage in a rather stilted conversation about what they intend to do in the summer, and Gaynor is glad that they have cleared the air.
"I hope you didn't upset her"
As she leaves, she encounters Hywel, who hopes that she did not upset Sheryl, emphasising, “She could have died!”
"You were in my bed!"
Gaynor reminds him that he was in her bed, and that she wants to put the whole thing behind her.   “You’ve made a decision – now for once in your life, stick to it!   I’m not going to stop you.”
"Gaynor couldn't have been nicer"
When he goes into the salon to check that Sheryl is all right, she replies, “Gaynor couldn’t have been nicer if she tried.”
The flowers go in the bin
As she disposes of the flowers in the pedal bin, she adds, “If she thinks she can make everything all right with cheap flowers and empty words, she’s wrong!   You’re either on my side or hers!   There’s no room on the fence.”
"Take every penny from Gaynor!"
“Here’s your chance to prove you want to be with me – phone your solicitor and tell him you want to take every penny from Gaynor!   Everything has changed now, so phone your solicitor!”
