20 July 2015

No-one at home at number 7
Wiliam knocks on the door of number 7, but there is no reply;  after looking in the window, he leaves.
Debbie seems to be getting ideas above her station
Diane comes along the street and notices a poster in the café window, put up by Debbie.
Debbie peers out
When Debbie peers though the window, Diane stalks off.
"It's nice to see you smiling again"
Iolo comes downstairs at Y Felin, after a minor plumbing job;  Siôn comments, “It’s nice to see you smiling again.   I know you’re upset over Wiliam, but maybe it’s all for the best.”
"I've got to go to Ffion's"
As Iolo insists he does not want to talk about it, he receives a text;  “Before you ask, it’s not Wiliam!   Ffion needs help with her washing machine,” he says, and hurries away.
Sheryl is having cash-flow problems
When Sheryl comes into the café for her only coffee of the day, she asks Debbie, in her new rôle as councillor, for some advice about postponing her Business Tax this month.
"Just leave it with me!"
Debbie has no idea what to do, but assures Sheryl she will deal with it.
The drum appears to have seized up
Gethin, sitting on the floor by the washing machine, reports to Ffion, “The drum won’t move an inch!”
Ffion is very grateful to Gethin
She thanks him for keeping her company and for not rushing things between them.
A text from Garry
Then Gethin gets a text from Garry, reminding him of the car show they are both attending, and which will involve his being away for two nights.
He says that he ought to go, although he wants to be there for her all the time.   Ffion replies, “You can’t be here every minute of the day,” and he insists that this will be a chance for her to prove how strong she is.
"I've got faith in you!"   (Famous last words)
“I’ve got faith in you – you’re one of the bravest people I know, and I’ll be at the end of a phone any time that you need me,” Gethin tells her.
Iolo ignores Wiliam's call
Then Iolo arrives to sort out the problem, and remarks that they appear to be enjoying each other’s company.   When he gets a call from Wiliam, he dismisses it as simply a PPI call, and rejects it.
"You can handle this!"
Gethin hugs Ffion as he leaves;  “I’ll come and see you before I go;  be positive – you can handle this!” he encourages her, but she is not so sure.
Diane moans to Dai that it takes more than posters to be a good councillor;
Jim is not a happy bunny . . .
then a rather fractious Jim asks how many bags of cement they need for today’s job.   Diane asks why he is in such a bad mood,
. . . because of the Cwrtmynach contract
and Dai tells her, “He can’t go to the Royal Welsh with Eileen, as we are starting the contract at Cwrtmynch today.”
"Ooh–err!   What am I going to tell Jim?"
Diane puts him right that the job does not start until next week, and after checking, Dai asks, “What am I going to tell Jim?”   Diane replies that it his problem.
"Iolo is probably at a job, somewhere"
Wiliam visits Y Felin, looking for Iolo, but Siôn says he has no idea where Iolo is.   Wiliam urgently needs to speak to him, but Siôn simply answers, “Maybe he does not want to talk to you.”
"Could you tell him I'm looking for him?"
When Wiliam makes the request that Siôn ring Iolo and tell him that Wiliam is looking for him, Siôn is not sure that he should interfere, but does eventually agree,
He has no intention of telling Iolo
although with no intention of actually doing so.
"Tell Gethin to read the instructions!"
Iolo has sorted out the machine for Ffion, and recommends that Gethin read the instructions.   Ffion emphasises how good Gethin is around the house,
"Watch him – he'll get lazy"
but Iolo warns her, “Watch him, as soon as he settles down, he’ll get lazy!”   Ffion however tells him they have not decided to live together – not yet.
“You might as well – he’s always here!” is Iolo’s comment.   He then reveals, “Wiliam’s been in touch, but I’m not sure I can cope with getting hurt again.”
Siôn invites Iolo out, somewhere far from Wiliam
As Ffion urges him to consider the question, “Can you live without him?” Siôn arrives, to ask Iolo if he fancies lunch and then a walk somewhere, possibly the Gower.   Iolo agrees, and will go home to get changed.
Jim has to make de with watching the show on the laptop
Jim watches the Royal Welsh on the laptop, as Dai lies to him that the Cwrtmynach job has had to be cancelled, as the windows have not been delivered.
"You mean I could have gone?"
Jim is far from pleased;  “You mean I could have gone to the show?   Damn that Phil and his windows!   You should phone him for a discount – you can’t upset the Jenkinses – they might want a conservatory too!”
"Everything has been dealt with"
Dai reassures him that the necessary calls have been made, and they just have to move on.   He goes off to Ffonddu Farm to deliver feed.
Wiliam finds Iolo at last
Iolo is about to go into his front door when Wiliam in the café next door sees him and hurries out.
"Why are we doing this to each other?"
“Why are we doing this to each other?” he demands, “Not a day passes when I haven’t regretted breaking up!   I want you back!”
"Oh, go to London!"
Iolo responds that he has no energy for this, and tells Wiliam to go to London.   Wiliam continues, “I am going, and I shall make sure you come with me!   I’m not going anywhere until you consider all the options,” and he goes into number 7.
Ffion is out and about
Gaynor is sipping wine outside the Deri as Ffion approaches;  “It’s the first day I’ve been out.   Arwen is with Elinor – she really loves going there – and it gives me a chance to recover,” says Ffion.
"A holiday is not the same, just Arwen and me"
Ows comes out and they order drinks;  Cranberry and soda for Ffion and Rosé wine for Gaynor.   Ffion tells Gaynor that she and Jinx had intended to go on holiday, but she is not sure she wants to go just with Arwen.
"What about Gethin?" says Gaynor
“What about Gethin?” asks Gaynor, as he is seen across the road, and Ffion admits that they are friends;  “To be honest, I’m not sure what we are, but I’m so glad he’s here!”
She really must stop feeling sorry for herself
Gaynor comments, “I shall have to stop feeling sorry for myself,”
Temptation strikes again
and Ffion looks enviously at Gaynor’s wine.
Gethin wants Sheryl to keep an eye on Ffion
Gethin has gone to the salon to see Dani, but she is away on a course, so he asks Sheryl if she will keep an eye on Ffion while he is away on this “jolly” with Garry.
"You're taking a risk!"
“You’re taking a risk, leaving Ffion on her own, now she’s back on the bottle,” says Sheryl, and when Gethin insists she is dry now, wonders, “For how long?”   Sheryl is not keen on watching her;  “I had enough of that when we shared a flat – she needs professional help.   Don’t say I didn’t warn you!”
"Leaving Cwmderi is the best thing you could do!"
Wiliam tells Iolo, “Leaving Cwmderi is the best thing you could do.   Have you seen your father today? – I assume he passed on my message.   He said he didn’t know where you were.”
"He knew exactly where I was!"
Iolo angrily replies, “He knew exactly where I was!”   He receives a text from his father, wanting to know where he is.   He and Wiliam leave the house.
Jim rings Phil, the window man . . .
Jim rings Phil from the window firm to complain about the late delivery, but is told that it has already been made.
. . . and Dai attempts to slip away . . .
Dai tries to slink away, but is led back by Diane.
. . . to face the music from Jim
Jim berates Dai, “I knew something was up!   You can’t tell lies for toffee!   Don’t expect any work from me today!”
"I can't do that, with my back!"
Dai protests that there are pallets to be moved, and that he cannot do it with his back,
"We can have some cake and watch the Royal Welsh"
but Diane proposes that she get some cakes from the café, then she and Jim can watch the show on the laptop,
The prospect of hard work offends Dai
while Dai deals with the pallets.
The fledgling councillor needs help . . .
When Diane reaches the café, Debbie is desperate for some help with Sheryl’s problem.   “I can’t contact the bloke on the council,” she tells Diane.
. . . and Diane has the mobile number she needs
“Oh, you mean Arwel Pritchard?   I have his mobile number.”
"Any progress, Debbie?"
When Sheryl looks round the door, enquiring if there is any progress, Diane assures her, “Debbie is fighting your corner – like a terrier!”
"I'll have two custard slices, free of charge!"
and then tells Debbie that she can give her two custard slices, free of charge, as a gesture of thanks.
"When were you going to tell me?"
Iolo and Wiliam confront Siôn;  “When were you going to tell me Wiliam was looking for me?” demands Iolo,
"You just wanted to keep us away from each other!"
“You just wanted to keep us away from each other!   Why didn’t you tell him you knew where I was?   Well?”
"I thought I was doing the right thing!"
Siôn blusters, “I thought you didn’t want to see him.   I thought I was doing the right thing.”
Iolo’s anger has not subsided;  “That’s how you justify everything!   Just so you know, I’m going to London with Wiliam!
"I need to be as far away from you as possible!"
I’ve realised something very important – I need to leave this place, and be as far from you as possible!”

Siôn looks stunned and they turn and leave.
