24 July 2015

Dani is hard at work . . .
As Dani polishes the mirror, Sheryl comes into the salon and shows off her new ring.   Dani says it must have cost a lot, but Sheryl tells her,
. . . when Sheryl boasts about last night
“It’s not worth nearly as much as Gaynor’s face last night when Hywel gave me the ring!”
Dani expresses surprise that Gaynor was there, and Sheryl explains, “It was in the Deri, a last-minute thing, and perfect timing.   By the time I finished with her, she didn’t know where to turn!”
"So you did it on purpose?"
“So, you did it on purpose,” Dani concludes, “It’s not like you to do something like that!”   Sheryl continues to maintain that Gaynor deserved everything she got, but is rather deflated by Dani’s reaction.
"He belongs to me now!"
Hywel comes in, Dani comments, “You don’t waste time!” and Sheryl stresses that he belongs to her now.
Gaynor is cooking a steak, to the accompaniment of Samuel Barber’s Adagio.
Gaynor looks at her former family . . .
As she fetches a recipé book, she looks at a photo of herself with Hywel and the girls.
. . . puts her steak on to cook . . .
After she has applied the relevant seasoning and put her steak in the pan, she takes the picture, covers it with a cloth and then attacks it violently with her meat tenderising mallet.
. . . then takes out her frustrations on the picture
As she removes the cloth, she allows herself a relieved smile.
DJ brings a jiffy bag from Sioned and hands it to Cadno, who appears to be in an unusually friendly mood, and praises him for a good day’s work.
Sioned has sent Cadno some money
When he has gone for a shower, she looks inside at the bundles of notes, but quickly hides them again when she hears Eileen and Jim coming.
Jim is covered in mud . . .
Jim complains bitterly about falling into the mud while climbing over the gate;  “It shouldn’t be locked!” he shouts,
. . . so will have to ask DJ for some trousers
and as they are there to be interviewed by Kelly about Eileen’s performance at the Royal Welsh Show, he goes to borrow a clean pair of trousers from DJ.
Gethin's wordly goods on the move
Gethin and Ffion are carrying boxes of his belongings to Cysgod y Glyn,
"Hope you haven't stolen any of my stuff!"
and Colin hopes that Gethin has not stolen any of his stuff;  “You haven’t got anything worth stealing!” is Gethin’s reply.
"Let me help you!"
Dani insists on helping them carry things, although Ffion does not want her to.
Colin gives Hywel and Sheryl a good dressing down
Then Colin sees Hywel and Sheryl, marches up to them and sternly admonishes, “What you did to Gaynor last night was not very nice!   You can’t fool me – you knew exactly what you were doing!”
Eileen arranges her vegetables in a basket;
"The only twisted thing in this house is you!"
when Cadno remarks that one of the onions is twisted, she replies, “The only twisted thing in this house is you!”
Poor old Jim is having constriction problems
Jim returns with a pair of trousers which are too tight, and tells them that DJ is out of the shower.   Eileen tells Cadno, “You’d better go next – you smell like a pig!” which does not go down well.
Over goes the basket of vegetables
Cadno grabs the basket and sends the vegetables on to the floor, just as journalist Kelly and her photographer arrive.
Kelly moans about having to climb over the gate
“It’s like an assault course!” moans Kelly.
"Can I help with anything else?"
As Gethin’s stuff is unloaded, Dani asks if she can be any more help;
"Help to stop drinking, you mean?"
Ffion snaps at her, “Help to stop drinking, you mean?   She wants to help because I’m an Alky!”   Despite Gethin’s protests, she tells Dani to leave.
Colin is very angry . . .
When Colin goes to see Gaynor, he is told, “You missed the best bit – she swore she’d get every penny out of me!”   This angers Colin, but he has an idea to help her forget everything,
. . . but has an idea to take Gaynor's mind off everything
and asks if she has some welly boots.
As Eileen tells Kelly that she was one of the first in the area to grow organic vegetables,
The loud liquidiser in operation . . .
Cadno turns on the liquidiser to drown out their conversation.
. . . causing Eileen to turn up the volume
Eileen simply speaks much louder.   Kelly tells them she just wants some photos, and Jim experiences more problems with the trousers;  then they are surprised by the arrival of two police officers.
PC Thomas wants Cadno to attend the police station
PC Lesley Thomas tells Cadno, “The charge of endangering life has been confirmed by the CPS.   We are asking you to come to the station to be charged formally.”   Cadno requests that she be allowed to change her clothes, or the station will smell of manure.
"You grassed her up!"
Kelly whispers in Eileen’s ear, “You grassed her up!   It’s my job to keep my ears open – and this is a better story than your veg!”   The other police officer then reports that Cadno is not upstairs, so they all rush outside;  “I hope she hasn’t done anything stupid!” says Eileen.
Cadno has chained herself to a gate . . .
They find Cadno, padlocked to a gate in the farmyard;
. . . and makes a statement to the press
as PC Thomas warns her she is making things worse, Cadno announces to the press, “I haven’t done anything wrong.   Write about an innocent person, defending her property, arrested, while the police do nothing to catch the thieves!”
She is all in favour of photographs being taken,
Eileen wants the Western Post employees out of the farm
but Eileen insists that Kelly and the photographer should leave the farm.   Jim warns, “Put the camera away, before I put it away for you!”
A very offended Kelly, about to go clattering off
Furiously shouting, “Right!” Kelly clatters off in her high-heeled boots.
Cadno seems implacable
Eileen asks Cadno, “What do you think you’ll achieve by this?”
Eifion, enjoying a rough and tumble with Bobi
Eifion is enjoying playing with Bobi and Arthur at the park when he has a phone call;  “What?   I’ll come now!” he says, and tells them, “Come on, boys, we have to go and see Mam – now!”
"Hold it like a Hoover"
Colin has taken Gaynor metal detecting, and is instructing her in the proper method of prospecting.   “Hold it like a Hoover,” he advises, “Take it easy – what’s in the ground is not going anywhere – slow down.”
Off they go across the field
They progress across a field.
Much to Cadno’s disgust, Eifion climbs over the gate, and tries to reason with her;
"You've made your point!"
“You’ve made your point.   The kids are in the car, and you don’t want them to see you like this.”
"I'm fighting for what is right!"
When she insists she is fighting for what is right, Eifion responds, “You lost sight of that a long time ago!   If you don’t give up, I’ll fetch them and you can explain to them why their mother is chained to a gate!”
At last, Cadno reluctantly admits defeat and tells him the key is under a nearby stone;  Eifion hands the key to PC Thomas, who releases the padlock.
Eileen insists on having the last word
Eileen tells Cadno she has ruined what was left of Penrhewl’s good name.
"You still need help, and Dani is worried"
Gethin points out to Ffion that although she is getting better, they still need help, and that Dani is worried about her.   “There may be difficult times ahead,” he says,
"I'll make more of an effort"
and Ffion agrees she will make more of an effort with Dani.
As Gaynor is tiring of the game, and the rain is still falling,
"Over that way a bit"
Colin guides her to a spot where he has already secreted something.
"Ooh!  What have I found?"
The detector changes its tone, and Gaynor locates a coin.   Colin asks, “Is it Viking, or Roman?”
"Worth all of sixpence!"
Gaynor discovers it is an Italian Lira coin, worth all of sixpence, but is excited at having found something.   Then Colin takes over as he says he has to find a fortune before nightfall.
DJ opens the gate for the police to escort Cadno out;
"What were you thinking, Catherine?"
“What were you thinking, Catherine?” demands Marian.   Cadno is adamant that she thought that Marian would understand the importance of protecting the farm’s rights.   She does not regret a thing.
"Mami will be back in time to put you to bed"
She tells Bobi and Arthur, “I have to help the police, but I’ll be back to put you to bed.   If I’m not, Dadi will do it!”
"You can have a story"
Eifion promises they will get a story as well.
"Should I withdraw the complaint?"
As Cadno is put into the police car, Eileen wonders if she did the right thing;  “Should I withdraw the complaint?”
"She's stubborn to the end!"
Jim insists it is too late now; “All she had to do was say sorry!   She’s stubborn to the end!”
