| Hywel boasts abouthis culinary abilities |
Mark is in the shop, buying fast food items; Hywel boasts that he does all the cooking, and a lasagne is simple, reeling off a list of ingredients. Mark insists he is helping neither of the electioneering candidates, and Colin attributes his poor tennis performance to lack of practice.
Hywel thinks that swingball in the back garden is more Mark’s standard,

| "All right, let's have a game!" |
so Mark challenges him to a tennis game tomorrow afternoon, and Colin proposes to be umpire.

| Britt takes pity on Iolo |
In the Deri, Britt gives the depressed Iolo a free lunch, and she tells Siôn that he is heartbroken; “He feels you have let him down,” she tells Siôn, “The father who said he’d be there for his children.”

| Siôn talks to Iolo |
Siôn tells Iolo, “When your mother and I started dating, we split up after a couple of months, but then got back together, and the relationship was stronger.” Iolo is quite adamant that it is over, and considers that being married to a police officer would be hell.

| "What about the armed robbery at Llanarthur?" |
“I’d be worrying about him being shot or injured. What about the armed robbery at Llanarthur this week?”

| Siôn fishes out the parcel |
This makes Siôn think, and he retrieves the mystery parcel from a cardboard box and looks at it.

| "I'll beat that Mark, no trouble!" |
Outside the shop, Hywel tells Colin that he will beat Mark easily, then he sees Gaynor and crosses to talk to her.

“Thanks for letting me get things off my chest – are you sure you don’t want me to mow the lawn?”

| "The spade is a bit rusty, like me!" |
Gaynor replies, “You could do some digging for me – it’s not too late is it? The spade is in the shed, a bit rusty, like me!” When he agrees to call round later,

Gaynor permits herself a smirk of satisfation.

| "We're going out tonight" |
When Hywel reaches the salon, Sheryl advises that she is shutting up early so they can go out. Hywel invents an excuse;

| Quick-thinking Hywel manufactures an excuse |
“My old friend, Phil Lewis, has booked a tennis court – I need the practice!” Sheryl is quite happy to put her feet up, “And watch the sexy tennis players on the box.”

| "He'll soon be up to his eyes in nappies!" |
When told by Dani that she is too soft on him, Sheryl remarks that he will be up to his eyes in nappies soon. “Do you think he’ll be a ‘hands-on’ father?” asks Dani, and Sheryl is determined that they are going to do everything right this time.

| Siôn insists he wants no part of this . . . |
Siôn takes the parcel back to Garry’s flat; “I don’t want to be part of anything involving you!” he says, but Garry hopes that no-one saw him with it, and wants it taken away before Dani comes home. Siôn continues,“It’s the gun used in an armed robbery at Llanarthur – how could you put your family in danger?”

Garry becomes angry; “I’ll let you know when I want it. Do what we agreed and no-one will get hurt. We have a deal – you can’t go back on your word now!”
“Why should I help you and get myself deeper in this mess?” demands Siôn, to which Garry replies that if he does not open it, he will not be part of anything. He gives the parcel back to Siôn and tells him to leave.

In the café, Anita complains to Diane that Hywel wants her to organise a bar and food at the tennis club tomorrow; CwmFM is sponsoring a tennis match in aid of the Soup Kitchen.

| "I'll help with the catering" |
Mark is concerned that Hywel is turning their game into, “The match of the century!”
Debbie agrees to help with the catering, as there may be some votes in it for her, and tells Mark, “Wear a t-shirt with ‘Vote for Debbie’ on it!”

| Diane is having second thoughts |
Anita warns Diane, “Supporting that woman is not doing your reputation any good.”

| Siôn asks questions |
Siôn goes round to see Iolo, asking about the armed robbery; “I’m concerned about something similar happening at the Deri,” he says.

| Could you contact Wiliam?" |
“Could you contact Wiliam, and find out if the gun used was a fake?”

| "Why don't you like Wiliam?" |
Iolo, who is trying to eat his meal, answers, “Why would you want me do that? I see that when Wiliam is of use to you, he’s acceptable. Why don’t you like him? I’ve got a right to know!”
Siôn maintains that Iolo does not know Wiliam; Iolo replies, “He’s an ordinary bloke, who loves his family, likes socialising and curries. Anything else you want to know? What kind of bloke do you want me to meet?”
Siôn tells him, “If you’re happy, I’m happy,”

but Iolo objects that it is a bit late for that now.

| Hywel arrives, complete with racket |
Hywel arrives at Llwyncelyn carrying a tennis racket; “I couldn’t tell her I’m doing some gardening round here,” he says, and adds, “I shall be using this to thrash Mark Jones!”

| "You still think a lot of yourself" |
Gaynor comments, “You still think a lot of yourself, don’t you?” as she opens a rather expensive bottle of wine. They sit down together and drink it.

| Siôn looks at the mystery parcel . . . |
At home at Y Felin, Siôn retrieves the parcel from the bag and looks at it; “I was stupid to think Garry would respect me as a member of the family,” he tells Britt, and she points out that she did warn him he was playing with fire.

| . . . wonders if it was involved in the robbery . . . |
Siôn muses, “What if this is the gun used in the robbery at Llanarthur? There might be plans to use it again – and someone might be killed!”

“How do you know it’s a gun?” asks Britt as she begins to peel off the brown tape, while Siôn urges her to leave it alone.

Then she peers inside, with a look of surprise, and pulls out . . . a triangular piece of paving slab!

| "I'll kill him!" |
She is absolutely livid, and shouts, “What’s he playing at? I’ll kill him!” and marches straight out.

| "I'm a grandmother again!" |
In the Deri, Anita has a phone call from Darren, announcing the arrival of her grand-daughter, Lliwen Haf.

| "That's very organised!" |
Sheryl remarks, “Very organised – having a name ready!” Anita wishes she could be there, and Dani encourages her to book a flight, but Anita describes herself as, “a long-distance grandmother,” and orders a bottle of champagne, “To wet the baby’s head.”

As they continue to talk, and drink, Hywel rejects a phone call from a chap who wants his computer fixed, and Gaynor bemoans the fact that there are always teachers wanting to see her at school;

“Ffion is the worst – she has a lack of confidence and cannot handle responsibility.”
Hywel admonishes her; “We’re not supposed to bring work home.”

When Gaynor queries this, he apologises for calling it “home”, saying “Old habits die hard.”
Gaynor tells him, “Listen, both of us have been unfaithful, who am I to point the finger? Sheryl’s feelings should be your main concern, not mine.

“Yes, she got pregnant deliberately to force your hand, but you must see it from her perspective – she’s willing to do anything to get you. You have to forgive her or it will all fall apart. What attracted you to her in the first place?”

“Not having a child!” moans Hywel, then adopts a flirting tone;

| He turns on the old Hywel charm . . . |
“A lot of people thought I was crazy to leave you – you’re as beautiful as the day I fell for you.”

Predictably, they kiss.
Dani is looking for a recipe she can cook for dinner;

as she finds Moroccan Meatball Tagine, the buzzer sounds. Britt and Siôn have arrived;

| Britt is in a furious mood . . . |
Britt demands, “Why do you want to scare Siôn? Are you jealous that he’s closer to me? What’s wrong with you? You’re lucky I didn’t throw this through the garage window!”

She brandishes the piece of paving slab.

| "It was far too heavy to be a gun!" |
Garry laughs and accuses them of not being able to take a joke; “It was far too heavy to be a gun,” he tells them, but Siôn points out he has no idea how much guns weigh. Garry reminds him that he said he would not open it; “His word means nothing!” he tells Britt.

“Grow up! We’ve got enough problems!” snarls Britt,

| "It would be a lot worse without my help!" |
but Garry replies they would be a lot worse without his help. He grudgingly admits that maybe he went a bit too far.

| Siôn is keen to get out of there |
Siôn is anxious to leave. When they have gone, Dani comments,

“I don’t think I’ll ever understand the Monks!”

| They seem very much at home |
Gaynor and Hywel are in bed; she says, “I’m not getting my own back on Sheryl – I want to be with you, despite everything you’ve done.” He admits that he still thinks the world of her.

“Don’t go – stay here tonight,” pleads Gaynor,

| Lying comes naturally to Hywel Llywelyn . . . |
so he gets his phone and calls Sheryl,

| . . . while Sheryl is blissfully ignorant |
who is in the Deri. He tells her he overdid the tennis, or rather the drinks afterwards, and cannot drive. “Phil has said I can stay here,” he lies, and Sheryl realises that this will be their first night apart.

| "Ah," she says |
She tells him, “I’ll miss you, and so will this baby – it must sense when you’re around. I’ll have an early night and all the bed to myself.”

| "See you tomorrow" |
“See you tomorrow,” replies Hywel, while Gaynor smirks next to him. When he tells her that conversation was not easy, Gaynor says, “You sounded like an old hand to me. This is where you belong.”
