When Ffion surfaces, she grumpily tells Gethin to be less jolly; he informs her that he has told the school that both she and Arwen are ill, so she cannot go in today.

He gives her a glass of something for her headache, but she refuses it, arguing, “

| "It was just a blip!" |
Yesterday was just a blip, it was going to happen at some stage, but I don’t intend to make a habit of it.”
Garry has arrived at Penrhewl, and complains to Cadno;

| Cadno's gun is delivered |
“Climbing over gates was not part of the deal – I’ve half a mind to charge you delivery!” and presents the gun to Cadno. “Does it shoot straight?” she enquires.

| "Buy it from a shop, like everyone else |
“If you want to be sure, buy it from a shop, like everyone else,” he replies. She hands over an envelope stuffed with money, and he goes, asking her to unlock the gates for him, but she is too busy finding the key to the gun cabinet.

| Marian is disturbed to see the gun |
However, she is not quick enough and Marian comes in; “I thought you had gone to the mart with DJ,” says Cadno.

| "I've got a duty to protect the place!" |
When Marian spies the gun, she exclaims, “Oh, Catherine! What have you been doing now?” Cadno tells her that it is her duty to protect the place as she sees fit, and warns Marian not to tell anyone.

| They have put out the flags to welcome Diane |
Dai and Jim are round the back of APD, preparing a welcome for Diane, but she arrives early.

| "It's nice to see the queen back on the throne" |
Jim tells her, “We wanted to do something special for your first day! It’s nice to see the queen back on the throne.”

| "You thinking about buying into APD?" |
When Angela returns home, she remarks to Eifion that she has learned from Eileen that he was thinking about buying a share of APD. “Until Dai and Diane decided to unretire!” he answers.
Angela is pleased to see he is showing some ambition and taking things seriously.

| "I'm going searching for treasure" |
“Yes, I am showing some ‘get up and go’. I’m going searching for treasure,” he tells her, proudly showing his borrowed metal detector.
“There was one bloke last year who found treasure worth £3.2 million,” he enthuses, but does admit he had been searching for fifteen years. “I’m going to be out all day, in all weathers . . . well, within reason. People sometimes find a fortune on their first day.”

Angela shakes her head; “Just for a second, I thought you were going to be an entrepreneur – but no, you’re a prat, and always will be!” He insists he will prove her wrong when they celebrate in the Deri later.

Ffion insists she should do the washing up; “I’m sure you’re in a hurry to get to work.” Gethin replies that he is not going in, as he wants to support her.

| "We could go out in the car" |
She suggests, “What if we went out in the car to the hills? No-one would see us there, as we’re meant to be ill. You go and see how Arwen is, while I make a picnic.”

| When his back is turned, off she goes |
As soon as Gethin goes to Arwen’s bedroom, Ffion grabs her bag and leaves the flat.
At Penrhewl, Cadno tells Marian it is time for tea and bara brith; then DJ arrives back unexpectedly.

“I’m here because you’ve got that gun!” he tells her. Cadno shouts at Marian that she had no right to phone DJ.
“There’s a dog out there that’s killing sheep!” she shouts, and DJ counters with,

| DJ points out the danger to the boys |
“And there’s two mischievous boys in this house – keeping a gun puts them in danger!” When she argues that the gun is locked up, he tells her, “And so will you be if you’re found out!”

| Marian suffers from breathlessness |
Their continuing argument upsets Marian, who calls for them to get Angela; “I need my medicine,” she says.

| Gethin finds Ffion is missing |
When Gethin finds Ffion is missing he hurries out to find her;

| Colin will not sell her vodka . . . |
meanwhile Ffion is trying to buy a bottle of vodka in the shop, but Colin is resisting her attempts.

He does sell her another bottle, presumably of something less potent, and when she leaves the shop and sees Gethin, she hides it in her bag.

She convinces him that she was only buying milk; “I was tempted for a second, but I’m not going back there, Geth,” she lies.

| "Arwen is all alone in the flat!" |
Gethin suddenly realises he does not have his keys, nor does Ffion, so Arwen is locked in the flat alone. He rushes off to find Hywel, who has a spare key.

| Not very pleasant detecting weather |
In the corner of a field, Eifion is metal detecting, with no success;

| Eifion is about to give up when . . . |
he gives up, puts the detector over his shoulder, and hears a loud noise in his headphones.

The gold watch is suspended from the tree above him – he is jubilant.

| Angela pronounces there is nothing seriously wrong |
Angela apologises for taking so long, but has had to climb over two gates to get to the farm; she checks Marian and enquires what brought on her breathlessness.

| DJ points out the danger of having gates locked . . . |
Cadno admits they have been arguing. DJ points out that Marian cannot call for a taxi to take her to the GP, because of the locked gates.

Angela insists that this is preventing an ambulance from coming, and Cadno relents slightly, asking DJ to get keys cut, so that Angela and Deri Deithio can have one.

Gethin cannot find Hywel, and is told by Colin that he is at Carmarthen, at what he called a conference.

“Ffion, is it?” asks Colin, “I tried to persuade her not to, but she was so determined!”
Then Gethin meets Garry, and tells him he has a dodgy stomach.

“Stop lying! Dani told me that Ffion is back on the pop! You’re more stupid than I thought!” comments Garry.

| Dai thinks it is lunchtime |
Dai suggests that her majesty should be taken out to lunch, but Diane is of the opinion that the bosses have been out to lunch too often.

| Diane is scathing about the condition of the accounts |
“I’ve seen nursery school books in better condition!” she complains, “You’ve missed the VAT deadline, there are no figures in these columns. You just stuffed bits of paper in the books. I understand now why you want me back!”

Dai’s protestations they he missed her company, and Jim’s that he missed her biscuits, are to no avail.

“I’m off to rethink the future,” says Diane as she leaves.
“She is joking – isn’t she?” asks Jim.

Ffion is outside the door of Cysgod y Glyn, swigging from the bottle, when Gethin returns with a wrecking bar;

they cannot contact Gwynfor, who lives downstairs, so he must force his way in.

| Arwen is perfectly happy, concentrating on her toy |
Inside, Arwen is perfectly happy, playing by herself; when they manage to get in, Gethin asks her,

| "There, look – I've assembled it!" |
“Were you afraid, all on your own? It won’t happen again, I promise.” When he tries to remove the bottle from Ffion, she objects; “A small one to quench my thirst on a hot day.”
Gethin points out, “A small one turns into another one – it doesn’t sound like a blip, does it?” Ffion’s response is, “I know what I’m doing.”

DJ sits down with Cadno and assures her he wants to help her.

| "Will you get a gun licence?" |
“Well, will you get a gun licence? No, I didn’t think so!”
DJ agrees that he will get a licence,

“As long as only I use it, and I have the only key – it has to be legal. And only on one condition – that you unlock the gates.”

| "Get your stuff and leave!" |
Cadno again loses her temper; “You don’t understand, do you? You have no idea how I feel! If you don’t like the living conditions, get your stuff and leave!”

| Dai and Jim come to butter her up |
Dai and Jim find Diane in the Deri; “If you’re here to butter me up, you’ll need a wheelbarrow full of butter,” she tells them, “I’ve got better things to do than sweating over invoices and receipts.”
Jim advises, “We’ve phoned Jessica Brown the accountant, and she’s starting tomorrow.” Dai tells her, “Anything to see that smile again,” and Jim adds, “And those biscuits!”

Diane admits that life would be dull without their nonsense.
Angela marches into the Deri in response to a text from Eifion; “If that was a joke, it’s not funny!” she tells him,

but he confirms he has found treasure, and shows her the watch, which he intends selling on the internet.

| "It won't make a million!" |
“Finders keepers,” he says, “It won’t make a million, but it’s a start!”

| Gethin has an injured finger . . . |
As Ffion applies a plaster to Gethin’s finger, damaged in the door repairs, a deliveryman arrives with a case of wine for her.

Gethin begs her, “Please stop deceiving yourself!” but she insists that a glass or two every now and again will not hurt.

As he goes downstairs to work on the door, she pours herself a large glass.
