Garry is uncommunicative
Dani takes a cup of coffee to Garry in the garage, but he merely grunts;  she demands, “Have I done something wrong?   You were late home, hardly said a word and left early this morning”
"Someone has to keep this place going"
“Garry responds, “You know I’m busy – someone has to keep this place going.   If you don’t mind, I’ve got a lot to do and only one pair of hands!”
Dani asks if this is how things are going to be, and he tells her, “Until your brother comes back, yes!”   She leaves and meets Siôn coming in.
"OK, Siôn, I'll give you two minutes!"
Garry is not keen to see him either.
Sioned chats to Ed, but gets no reply
Over breakfast, Sioned tells Ed that Mal is covering the phones so she can help him in the café.   “What time is Gwen’s dentist’s appointment – twelve o’clock?” she asks, but Ed’s mind is elsewhere, as she proves when she adds,
"There's an elephant in the bath!"
“There’s an elephant in the bath as well,” and he ignores her.
Ed admits what he told Cadno
Then he admits that he told Cadno yesterday about Garry asking her to steal the quad, and that Cadno went straight to the garage.
"If she goes to the police!"
“What?” explodes Sioned, “I’ve paid her to keep quiet!   If she goes to the police, and Garry finds we’ve snitched . . . do you realise what you’ve done?
"You've thrown me straight back in!"
We’ve gone to a lot of trouble to escape from Garry – and you’ve thrown me straight back in!”
At the garage, Siôn explains that he is worried about being in debt, which does not get any sympathy from Garry;
"You should have thought about that before buying the Deri!"
“You should have thought about that before buying the Deri!   I just want the money back in one cash payment – I’m not hassling you for it.”
"You're worried about the gun!"
Siôn wants to pay in kind, like doing translation work for Garry, but Garry realises that he is worried mainly about the gun, with his fingerprints on it.
"Business is business"
Siôn objects to the fact that Garry appears to be enjoying this, but he replies, “Business is business, and the gun is insurance.   Since you’re so desperate, I’ll think about it, but now I’m busy!”
Colin says that Debbie is neglecting her duties
When Gaynor goes shopping, Colin moans that Debbie has just been elected, and goes off on holiday, without any care for her duty to the constituents.
"Yes, I'd love to come"
Gaynor tells him she is lonely in that house, and invites him to dinner, which he accepts enthusiastically.
Gwyneth buys expensive organic biscuits
Then Gwyneth comes in, wanting some of the shop’s best biscuits, as Kelly is coming round, and is struggling with an article for the paper.
"Maes y Deri dogs' shelter!"
Mark has just arrived home when the phone rings;  he answers, “Yes, Maes y Deri dogs’ shelter,” and then realises the caller is Gabriella.
It is Gabriella, ringing from Patagonia
She reveals that Meic is very weak and not at all well, and asks, “Did you know Anita has decided to come here?   She phoned to say she is buying a ticket – you have to stop her!   Meic wanted you to do it!”
Mark wonders how to dissuade Anita
Mark agrees that he will try, and Gabriella adds that he must not tell Anita that Meic is so ill, or even mention she phoned.
He has a difficult problem here
He is left in rather a quandary.
Eileen wants to know why Sioned is helping
Sioned is helping her mother with boxes in the shop, and Eileen realises she has an ulterior motive;
Eileen still blames Cadno
“Don’t you think the whole business with Cadno has gone too far?” demands Sioned, but Eileen insists Cadno needs to learn her lesson, that pride goes before a fall, and that she should have apologised.
"Why are you so loyal to Cadno all of a sudden?"
Eileen is puzzled as to why Sioned is so concerned;  “Why are you so loyal to Cadno all of a sudden?” she asks, and Sioned replies that she is just loyal to Penrhewl.
Hywel says he wants a fair settlement
Gaynor meets Hywel outside the Deri, and he asks her if she has seen the form about assets and earnings;  “We both need to complete it carefully, so everything is shared fairly,” he says.
"You're obsessed with money"
Gaynor comments, “I had forgotten how much of an obsession money is for you!” and walks away.
Colin glances into Apêl Maenan . . .
Colin, passing Megan’s shop, notices a necklace,
. . . and see what he thinks is an attractive necklace
and goes in for a closer look at it.
Siôn announces a rent review
When Sioned returns to the Deri, Siôn mentions that now she and Ed have settled down, they ought to look at the amount of rent they are paying.   Sioned passes the buck;  “You’ll have to talk to Ed.”
"I heard there were problems at Penrhewl"
Then Garry comes in, remarking, “Well, two of my favourite people!   How are you, Sioned?   How’s Cadno?   I heard there were problems at Penrhewl.   We’ll talk about it some other time, shall we?”
"That package you've got is more important"
He then informs Siôn that he has thought long and hard, but concludes, “That package you’ve got is more important than free translation work.”
"A day with Cadno is enough to drive anyone to drink!"
DJ comes in, telling Gwyneth and Kelly, “A day with Cadno is enough to drive anyone to drink!”   Garry leaves, and Siôn looks decided uneasy as Kelly orders a bottle of white wine.
"Sitting here like old friends"
Colin has enjoyed his meal at Gaynor’s;  “It’s odd, isn’t it, the two of us sitting here like old friends?   That’s why I wanted to give you something,” and he presents Gaynor with the necklace.
"It's mine – Hywel gave it to me"
He is rather deflated when she announces, “It’s mine – I took it to Apêl Maenan a few days ago.   Hywel bought it in Venice, and, to be honest, I never liked it!”
Poor Colin is embarrassed . . .
Colin admits, “It does look a bit OTT – it was just a silly last-minute thought.
. . . and admits he has a talent for getting things wrong
You know me – I have a talent for getting things wrong!”
"Have we finished that bottle already?"
Gwyneth is surprised;  “Have we finished that bottle already?”   Kelly is grateful to her for all the ideas she suggested, thinking she could fill a colour supplement for months.
"That's a perfect title!"
Then Gwyneth thinks of a title – ‘A life in colour’ which pleases Kelly.
Dani finds the garage locked up
Dani goes to the garage, but finds it locked up and in darkness.
Cadno has a stealthy visitor
At that moment, Garry has arrived at Penrhewl, and stealthily creeps up behind Cadno, who is again washing-up.    She is startled and demands, “What are you doing here?”
"I'm just calling to see how things are"
He tells her he has just called to see how things are, and when she insists she told him to stay away, he replies,
"I really hate people who threaten me!"
“I’ve got a bit of a problem with that!   I don’t like people telling me what I can and can’t do – and I really hate people who threaten me!   The question is – what are we going to do about it?”
Cadno is frightened
Cadno is by now looking really scared.
Colin thanks Gaynor for a fantastic meal,
Gaynor is about to despatch the necklace
and she holds the necklace above the open pedal-bin, asking, “Do you mind?”   With his agreement, she drops it.   “I hope it gets buried for ever under a mountain of smelly rubbish!”
"The necklace – or Hywel?"
Colin enquires, “The necklace – or Hywel?”   Gaynor says that Hywel Llywelyn is no better than the dirt on her shoe, but describes Colin Evans as, “Kind, thoughtful, and a very dear man.   You’ve managed to lift my spirits once again.”
Colin is surprised
So saying, she hugs him.
"DJ was complaining about you"
Garry, taking it easy in a chair, tells Cadno that DJ will not be back any time soon;  “The last time I saw him, he was preparing for a big night in the Deri, and was complaining about you.”
"Please, Garry!"
Cadno begs, “Please, Garry, the boys are asleep, and Marian’s reading in bed.”
Garry reassures her that he does not want to frighten them;
Garry warns what would happen if the police found out
“I’m going now, as soon as I’m sure we understand each other.   I don’t like being threatened, and it would not look good for you if the police knew about the illegal gun that’s hidden here.
"Six months, or maybe a year?"
The sentence would definitely include time in prison – how long do you think?   Six months, or maybe a year?   What would the kids do then?”
"All right, I get the message"
Cadno capitulates;  “All right, I get the message – I won’t tell the police about the quad, and you won’t say a word about the gun.   Now, go!”
"I tell you what you can do!"
Garry tells her, “You’re tough, Cadno, fair play to you, but from now on, I tell you what you can do, not the other way round.   Understand?”
Cadno nods reluctantly, and Garry quietly leaves the farm.
