As Mark is out delivering letters, Angela asks if he has a parcel that she is expecting; “It’s a box of wine,” she tells him, and his face falls.

| "It wasn't your wine!" |
He rushes over to where Anita is watering her hanging basket, and informs her that the wine was not in fact hers, but Angela’s.

| "Oops!" says Anita |
“Oops!” she replies, but Mark is very concerned that if Angela complained to the Royal Mail, there would be an enquiry and he might lose his job. He instructs Anita to retrieve the two bottles and the box, while he goes to the shop.

| Gemma is back to infuriate Gwyneth |
As Gwyneth puts mop buckets outside APD, Gemma arrives, informing her that she feels much better today, and asking if Gwyneth is going to the barbecue. Gwyneth does not think so, until Gemma reminds her that it will mean, “A quiet night in.”

| "It's a bit early for buying wine" |
Dani has collected the bread rolls Eileen has donated, and comments to Mark that is is rather early in the day to be buying two bottles of wine.

| Gwynfor just wants to get back to his pint |
In the Deri, Dai accosts Gwynfor to support his call for an election for councillor; “How are you, partner?” Gwynfor tells him, “Not interested!” and turns to his pint.

| Then Dai tries his luck with Jinx . . . |
Then Dai approaches Jinx, who is trying to plan his radio programme, and points out they have five names, and without another five they are “doomed”.

Jinx is emphatic; “I’ve got enough on my plate – go and hassle someone else!”

When Kelly comes in, Jinx tells her he cannot concentrate on his programme. “You should believe in yourself,” she tells him, and advises that he go home and “chill”, and he will be fine. “I know that you can do it, and I’m so proud of you!”

Anita and Mark are busy, soaking off the labels from the two bottles they emptied last night,

and affixing them to the cheap wine bottles from the shop.

Anita says they should admit it was an innocent mistake, but Mark warns it would not do to cross Angela.

“That’s it, just as if it never happened,” he assures her, as he puts the two doctored bottles in the case with the unopened Pinot Noir. Anita is not so sure; “Until she opens it – she’ll know straightaway!”

Then Mark rings Angela, tells her he found the parcel at the depot, and will deliver it to her at the Deri.

Dani has just collected a case of Carlsberg Export, donated by the Deri, when Dai asks for her signature on his call for an election, but she is too busy with barbecue preparations to listen.

Mark brings the wine to Angela, and she promises him a glass later to thank him.

When Dani reaches number 7, Gethin has already defrosted the burgers and sausages, and has prepared a music playlist. “It will all be worth it if Ffion turns up,” he tells her,

but Dani tells him she is doing all this for the Soup Kitchen, not for his love life. Gethin muses, “She won’t be able to cope without me – especially if Jinx takes her to court. I know that she needs me more than ever!”

| "Who are you supposed to be?" |
Ffion arrives with a bottle of non-alcoholic wine, and of course it is not long before Gethin gravitates towards her. “Who are you supposed to be, Dali or Poirot?” he asks, and she tells him she ditched the beard as she could not breathe. He pulls off his bushy ginger false beard, but Ffion warns him, “There’s nothing to say – nothing has changed, so just let it go!”

Dai complains about a terrible itching where he has stuck on “Elvis Presley” sideburns. Angela quickly rips them off and admonishes him for sticking them on with DIY adhesive from APD.

The radio is turned on, and they hear Anita announcing that the barbecue is in full swing, and that people have been sending in pictures of their beards. “You’ll be able to vote online for your favourite.”

While the music plays, Anita and Jinx in the studio argue over who should announce what.

Gwyneth has fetched some lotion from the salon and Angela applies it to Dai’s inflamed face; “I haven’t looked like this since I got sunburnt at Lanzarote in 1992,” he says.

Then Gemma walks in, wearing a beard, and he exclaims, “Ah, Brian Blessed!” As he thanks Gwyneth for saving him for the second time this week, Gemma appears resentful,

and as they walk away, she is left on her own.
On CwmFM, Jinx speaks of the “beard-e-que”, and announces that later they will be talking to the organisers, Dani Monk and Gethin Thomas.

Anita adds that Gethin has been doing all the hard work for the soup kitchen voluntarily; “It’s nice to see young people helping those less fortunate.”

Jinx is becoming angry; “So that justifies all the other things he’s done, does it?” he demands, on air. “Stealing another man’s woman, destroying a happy family, ruining a toddler’s childhood! Not to mention all the lying and cheating since he came here – talking about his dodgy deals would fill a programme!”

Anita tries to stop him, but he is determined to continue, so she hurries off to find Hywel. “I’m sure you’re wondering what I’m going to say next,”

Jinx goes on, “Well, I don’t have anything to say to you, Ffion, nothing that people don’t already know!”

Ffion hurries away from the gathering, but Kelly stops her; “You’d rather be at a barbecue than with your child?” Ffion replies that Arwen is with Elinor, and she also has her dad. “Yes, the dad who’s trying to do his job!” shouts Kelly, “Who’s looking after him?”

On the radio, Jinx’s diatribe continues, “No matter who her father is, I love that little girl more than anything in the world! I’ve lost everything else – my girlfriend, my home, my job! Do you hear, Hywel? Stuff your job!” He throws down his headphones.

When Dai goes home, Gemma follows Gwyneth around, and remarks, “I hope my birthday won’t be such a flop. It’s next week, you’re organising it and it had better be a good one!”

Dani warns him off, saying the last thing Ffion wants is more problems. Gethin says, “Loving someone should be simple,” but Dani reminds him that Arwen comes first, not him.

At Anita’s, Kelly makes Jinx a cup of hot, sweet tea, and assures him that he has nothing to be embarrassed about; “Everything that needed to come out, came out,” she says, and tells him that Anita has agreed he can stay there.
