18 June 2015

The annual report is printed
Siôn prints off the annual report for Megan;  “She’ll enjoy looking for typing errors – I put a few in deliberately,” he tells Britt, “According to this the £15,000 is still in the account.”
"Lies in black and white!"
“Lies in black and white – what next, Siôn?” she replies, “It won’t be all right until the money is back in the account!”
He maintains that the matter is all in hand
but Siôn assures her he has found a way of sorting that out.
Wiliam arrives for a trial period
Wiliam brings two boxes of his belongings, to see how it goes,
"Welcome to number seven!"
and Iolo announces, “Welcome to number 7, High Street, Cwmderi!”

Wiliam looks around
While Iolo goes out to get some chips, Wiliam opens a bottle of beer and looks around the kitchen.
Colin enjoys his food
As Colin eats his meal outside the Deri, Dai picks holes in the wording of the leaflet;
Dai finds fault with the leaflet
“I don’t like it, it’s too formal.   People want everyday language, not teacher-speak.   What you want is, ‘I’m a good bloke, working class and a man of the people.’   We’ll rewrite it and make fifty copies at APD.”
Gwyneth tries unsuccessfully to warn Dai about Gemma
Gwyneth arrives and tells Dai she needs to speak to him about Gemma, but he will not listen, telling her she is like a broken record.
She tries to get rid of Gemma's necklace
Then she sees Mark approaching, and tells him she has found, under the sofa, the necklace he bought Gemma.   He does not want it, but neither does Gwyneth, so in the end he puts it in his pocket.
"Any chance of a new Quadbike?"
DJ comes into Penrhewl for a cup of tea after doing the milking, and asks Cadno if there is any chance of a new Quadbike, as he has walked miles these last few days.   Cadno says the insurance company have not been in touch, she does not know what she would do without him, and asks him to do some shopping in the village.
Eileen visits for some vegetables
Eileen comes in to get some vegetables for the Cwrtmynach show, as practice for the Royal Welsh.   When Cadno remarks that they are very busy, Eileen offers to send Jim up to help, but Cadno refuses,
"DJ and I are the perfect team"
saying that she and DJ are, “The perfect team.”   Eileen remarks that it is a pity they did not have better security.
Dai left his sandwiches behind
Diane is angry that Dai left his sandwiches at home.   Gemma comments, “You and Dai argue a lot,”
"Like cat and dog!"
and Diane confirms, “Like cat and dog!”
“You’re such a nice couple,” Gemma continues, “When did you know Dai was the one for you?”
Gemma quizzes Diane . . .
Diane replies that she has known him for years, since he used to run The Bull.   The next question,
. . . but some questions are too personal
“How did he propose to you?” is a bit too personal, so Diane leaves to take the sandwiches to APD.
Gemma puts on earrings
Gemma takes out a pair of earrings and puts them on.
"Cadno will be expecting me back"
Coming out of the shop, DJ meets Eifion, who invites him for a drink, but he refuses as Cadno will be waiting for him to get back.   Eifion reiterates that getting rid of the farm was the best thing he has done,
Eifion is off to Lodon
and reveals he is off to London, as a friend has just moved there.   DJ complains, “Cadno won’t give me any time off!”
"Vote for me, lads!"
Colin comes round the corner with his rosette, encouraging DJ and Eifion, “Vote for me, lads!”   When Eifion describes it as “rubbish”, Colin responds, “It’s better than doing nothing – like some I know!” and disappears into the chippy.
On the bench outside APD sits Mark, looking at the necklace;
Gwyneth tells Mark all about Gemma . . .
Gwyneth joins him and announces, “She tried to kill Dani – tampered with the wiring of the toaster.   She’s got a hitlist of everyone she hates;  living with her was unbearable!
. . . and he is quite concerned
“Now she’s turned Dai and Diane against me – they’re in danger!   She made a cake and brought it to APD – I bet it was poisoned!   The girl is ill!”
"We'd better do something"
Mark, who has been silent thus far, comments, “Then we’d better do something, for Gemma’s sake and everyone else’s!”
Next Dai comes along with newly-printed flyers, and Gwyneth tells him if they are anything to do with him, she is not interested.
"You'll be like a barrel, with all this food!"
Colin, with his chips, arrives and Dai berates him for continually eating;  Colin’s answer is, “You can’t fatten up a greyhound like me!”
Dai targets another voter, this time Gwen
Seeing Gwen passing by, Dai thrusts a flyer into her hand.
The incorrect mutation is not immediately obvious
Gwyneth notices a grammatical error on the leaflet, an incorrect mutation, and Dai blames Gaynor;  “Typical Gog!”
Colin dismisses his campaign manager
By this time, Colin has had enough;  “I’m fed up with you taking over!   I can do this on my own – I’m sacking you!” which is greeted with disbelief by Dai.
The insurance company have bad news for Cadno . . .
Cadno has bad news by phone;  the insurance company are rejecting the claim, and she threatens them with her solicitor.
. . . and she takes it out on DJ, calling him a "mwnci"
She rants, “They’re not paying out because this monkey gave the wrong information!   You’d better think of a plan, because you’ve cost me thousands!”
"Stuff your farm!"
This is the last straw, and DJ accuses her of treating him like dirt, even after all the extra hours he has slaved.   “Stuff your farm!” he says, and walks out.   Cadno hopefully tells Eileen that he will soon be back with his tail between his legs, but Eileen is less confident.
Siôn pays a visit, and much to Wiliam's displeasure . . .
When Siôn arrives at number 7, Iolo is out on a job, but Siôn insists that he will wait
. . . says he will wait for Iolo
and makes himself comfortable, while on the contrary Wiliam feels very uncomfortable.
"Right, I'll come to London with you!"
DJ marches into the Deri, where Eifion is drinking, and confirms that he will accompany him to London after all.
Gemma seeks background information on Diane
As Gemma is looking up “Diane Ashurst” on the chwilota.com search engine, Mark arrives, wanting to talk to her.
Mark is not welcome
He says he just wants to make sure she is all right, and she replies that she is, now that Dai and Diane have put a roof over her head.
“I’ve been talking to Gwyneth, and we are worried about you,” he says, “I’m not going anywhere until you accept that you’ve got a problem.”   At this point, Diane returns home, and Gemma begs her to make Mark leave;
"Make him leave – he's scaring me!"
“He’s scaring me!” she whines.
Mark goes, after leaving the necklace, but warns Diane,
"You need to realise what's going on!"
“You need to realise what is going on right under your nose!”   Then Gemma whimpers, “I’m scared of him – I don’t trust him!” but Diane tries to comfort her.
"Your dad's been here for ages"
As Wiliam is staring out of the window, Iolo returns, and Siôn tells him,
"There's something you need to know"
“There’s something you need to know.”
Wiliam denies that there is
As Wiliam says nothing, Siôn continues,
"He hasn't got the guts to tell you himself!"
“I’ll tell him, then.   Wiliam is going to work in London, but he hasn’t got the guts to tell you himself!   You deserve to know the truth.”
Wiliam is sure that Siôn has an ulterior motive
Wiliam replies, “If you were concerned for Iolo, you wouldn’t have been so sly.   This goes deeper – you want me out of Cwmderi – for a reason.”   He emphasises to Iolo, “This is only a secondment, and I didn’t know how you would react.”
"We don't have a relationship!"
Iolo angrily tells him, “I thought we understood each other, after the lies about Non!   As far as I’m concerned, we don’t have a relationship!   Get out!   You’ve made a fool of me again!   Go away!”
Off goes Wiliam, all for the best, according to Siôn
After Wiliam has reluctantly left,
St Siôn preaches at his son
Siôn sanctimoniously asserts that it is all for the best;  “It’s sad when you get to know someone and then realise what they’re really like,” he pontificates.
"You had a problem with Wiliam from the start!"
“Like you?” says Iolo, “You should be ashamed of yourself - you’ve done this for your own sake.   You had a problem with Wiliam from the start!   I don’t know any other father who would do what you just did!   I don’t want you or Wiliam to come here again!   Get stuffed, Dad!”
Eileen finds herself in the middle of an argument
Cadno is apologetic when DJ returns to the farm, but still wants him out in the fields.   “No chance!” DJ replies, “I’m going to London for a few days – a holiday, a break, a treat!”  Eileen protests that he cannot leave Cadno on her own, but he points out that it is too late.
Again Eileen offers to send Jim to the farm, but again Cadno refuses, and tells her to, “Stuff your advice - stick to your veg!”
"No wonder everything falls apart around you!"
Eileen leaves in a huff, and DJ insists, “I deserve better than this.   Why do you want me here?   All you do is shout at me.   I’ve never met anyone so stubborn – no wonder everything falls apart around you!”
Cadno appears to have alienated everyone
He walks out.
