Mark has a mystery parcel
Mark arrives at the farm carrying a parcel with no address, only the postcode;  Cadno tells him she is not expecting anything, and neither is DJ.
"Where's the Quad Bike?"
Then Cadno asks, “Where’s the Quad Bike?   Have you left it in a field?”   When DJ replies that he brought it back yesterday, she is sure that it has been stolen.
Darren contacts Anita via CnocCnoc
Anita is contacting Darren on her iPad;  “Has the parcel arrived safely?” he enquires, but she tells him she has seen no parcel.
Cadno reports the theft
Cadno reports the theft to the police, but is doubtful whether they will turn up.
"I brought it back as usual"
DJ describes how he brought the Quad back, and hung up the keys when he came in for a cup of tea.
Cadno is not placated
Cadno is angry, and says she will ask around to see if anyone knows anything.
Dai is stocktaking
Dai is stocktaking when Mark comes into APD to ask if he has ordered anything;
Dai suggests opening the parcel
Dai thinks it would be a pity to take it back to the depot and wants to see if the contents are of any interest, but Mark refuses.
"You don't trust me!"
When Gwyneth arrives she asks, “Why are you stocktaking?   I did it yesterday.   I know, you don’t trust me – I’m stealing from the till or selling stock on the sly!”
An ominous stranger scares Dai
Just then, Dai sees someone come into the shop and hides;  the stranger asks Gwyneth where he can find Dai Ashurst.   She answers that Dai is out on a job and could be a long time, but the stranger says that he will wait.
"What kind of low-life would steal a Quad Bike?"
Sioned is selecting vegetables outside the shop, and hears Colin remark to Cadno, “What kind of low-life would steal a Quad Bike?”   Sioned turns and expresses surprise at what has happened, assuring Cadno that she did not see anything suspicious when she was there.
Ed hears what has happened
Ed has joined the group and looks concerned.
"Dai stole the job from me!"
When Gwyneth tells her visitor that Dai could be hours, he explains, “I want a word with him about Cwrtmynach village hall – he stole the job from me and cost me a lot of money!”
Gwyneth soon sorts him out and escorts him to the door
Gwyneth quickly puts him in his place;  “APD won that contract fair and square!   Dai agreed to do it cheaper as a favour to the community.
"Get your facts right!"
Get your facts right before accusing people!” and she forcibly ushers him out of the shop.
Dai comes out of hiding
Dai rapidly emerges from his hiding-place and congratulates Gwyneth;
"You're a heck of a woman!"
“I’ve never seen anyone deal with Aled Ffos Isaf like that!   You’re a heck of a woman!”   Gwyneth calls the man a bully and reminds Dai that people like that are the enemies of APD, not her.   Dai’s excuse for running away is that he cannot trust himself in situations like that;  “I might have given him a slap!”
They only have two names at the moment
Colin comes in to report to Dai that he has two supporters for his nomination to the council, and Dai resolves to tackle customers at the Deri.
Gemma is feeling sorry for herself
Then Gemma puts in another unwelcome appearance;  Dai describes her as “looking awful”.   She has a cold and complains that there is no food or paracetamol in the house;  “I need some TLC,” she whines.
Gwyneth smiles at Dai's comment
Dai replies, “Yes, well, we only sell MDF!” and tells her that APD is closing for lunch.   “The best thing you can do is go home!   Call in the shop for tablets on the way.   You shouldn’t spread your germs around the village!”
Anita thinks it is her parcel . . .
At the Deri, Mark brings in the parcel, and Anita assumes it must be her surprise from Darren.
. . . and is pleased when she opens it
She opens it and discovers bottles of what appears to be expensive wine.   She invites Mark to join her later for some wine-tasting.
Dai must keep the matter from Diane
Dai advises Colin he must be careful who he gets to sign the nomination;  “Once Diane finds out, she’ll castrate both of us!” he ominously predicts.
"I feel so guilty!"
Sioned is on the phone;  “It’s all over the village – I wouldn’t have done it if I knew I’d feel so guilty!”
Sioned invents a reason for her phone call
Then Ed walks in and so she makes up a tale of it being some cheapskate wanting a taxi to Cardiff Airport for £20.   Ed remarks,
"Isn't it a bit of a coincidence?"
“You didn’t say you’d been up to Penrhewl yesterday.   Isn’t it a bit of a coincidence?   I don’t know anyone else who has been stealing cars – except Garry Monk.  ”
“Do you think I’d steal from my own family,” Sioned demands, enraged, but Ed replies that she has done worse in the past, and suspects that she feels guilty.   She challenges him to ring the police, but he will not do anything to risk their relationship.
Sioned, looking scared
He hugs her, but he looks very suspicious and she looks decidedly scared.
The wine-tasting evening gets off to a good start
Mark and Anita taste the wine, and Mark says the taste reminds him of gooseberries – and lemon meringue pie.
Anita is impressed by the connoisseur
Anita consults the label, to find that his evaluation is remarkably accurate.   Later, when they move on to the Bordeaux, the smell reminds him of his old granny’s dresser, and the label mentions, “Matured in oak for one year,” so he considers himself somewhat of a connoisseur.
Cadno has found no leads to the theft . . .
Cadno returns to the farm in a bad mood, as she has no leads on the theft, and the police have not even been.
. . . and she ridicules DJ's poster
When DJ show her his handmade posters, she shouts, “We haven’t lost a cat – it’s a £6,000 Quad!   I might as well do everything myself, as usual!”
They are having an enjoyable evening
After all the wine, Mark and Anita are getting rather inebriated, and play some party games;  then Mark asks, “If you only had twenty-four hours to live, what would you do?”
She still wants to be with Meic
She immediately replies, “I’d fly to Buenos Aires, then on to Patagonia to find Meic, and spend every minute with him.”   The room goes very quiet.
Gemma is not convinced by Colin's spiel
Colin is trying to sell himself as a councillor to Gemma, saying, “I want to fire the imagination of the young people.”   She simply remarks that Debbie is younger than him.
"I'm feeling worse – I want to go home!"
Then she moves to the bar, where she tells Gwyneth, “I’m feeling worse – I want to go home.”
“No–one’s stopping you!” replies Gwyneth, but Gemma wails, “I don’t want to go on my own.”
"Come home with me – now!"
Then her voice takes on a more threatening tone;  “Come home with me – now!   Or maybe I shall find it difficult to keep your dirty little secret – telling me to get rid of Dani.”
Gwyneth tells her, “You know I didn’t do that, and anyway, you’ve got too much to lose!”
"They would never let you near Gwern again!"
Gemma snarls, “Not as much as you!   I haven’t got a child!   With your record, the authorities would never let you near Gwern again!”
