Ffion is feeling the strain of being alone
Ffion is back home with Arwen;  she makes a cup of tea,
She sees temptation in the fridge
and in the fridge sees the beer cans as she gets the milk.   Then she finds there is no hot water for Arwen’s bath;
"The boiler's on the blink!"
“The boiler’s on the blink again!” she exclaims.
Arwen plays happily
As Arwen plays, she leaves a message for Hywel;
Ffion leaves a message for Hywel
“The boiler’s broke – could you have a look at it?   Jinx always knew what to do.”
Wiliam intends to stay home tonight
Iolo tells Wiliam he is making “Spag Bol” for dinner, but Wiliam says he will stay home tonight, as he has a late shift, and all his stuff is there.   Iolo suggests that he could move it all to number 7, and live with him.   Wiliam replies, “We’ll talk about it another time,” and leaves.
Kelly takes tablets for her hangover
When Kelly comes downstairs, Anita asks where she has been;  she answers, “To Porthcawl, with Gwyneth – it was what we both needed!”   As Kelly takes some tablets for her hangover, Anita enquires whether she found Jinx, and Kelly tells her, “I found someone else – he’s coming over later, so I’m going for a shower.”
Ffion delves into her toolbox . . .
Ffion, armed with a small toolbox,
. . . and looks for inspiration online
consults chwilota.com for “how to fix a boiler” and finds advice to seek professional help.   Nevertheless, she takes a screwdriver and begins to lever off the front panel.
Colin is having problems with his publicity
Colin explains to Gaynor in the Deri that Dai has told him to distribute flyers in the village, and he is getting on Colin’s nerves.
"I hope you don't expect me to write it for you"
Gaynor replies, “That’s a good idea.   I hope you don’t expect me to write it for you.”   Colin orders her a large gin, to soften her up.
"Has Siôn written the Chapel's annual report?"
Megan arrives at the bar and asks Britt if Siôn is about;  “Has he written the Chapel annual report?   I want to know how far he has got with the accounts.”
"He's at home with a touch of flu"
Britt tells her that he has a touch of flu and is working from home today.   “I have just the thing for him – he must be suffering from stress,” says Megan and hurries off.
Anita answers the door to a stranger, Aled, who has come for Kelly;
Aled is rather embarrassed . . .
while he sits down in an armchair, Kelly quizzes Anita in the kitchen,
. . . as they talk about him
“Do you like him?   Do you think he’s keen?”   Anita replies that at least he did turn up.   Kelly concludes, “Maybe Jinx wasnt ‘the one’ after all!”
Wiliam explains his dilemma
In the Deri, Wiliam is chatting to Britt and explaining his dilemma;  “Iolo wants us to live together, but I’ve been offered a secondment to London.   I’ve only known a few days, and it’s too good an opportunity to pass up.   But I don’t want to spoil things with Iolo!”
Gaynor has done an outstanding job
Meanwhile, Colin is very pleased with Gaynor’s work on his flyer;  “You’ve made me out to be interesting and popular!” he exclaims.   Gaynor confirms he is popular, “Unlike me,” she says.
“It’s Hywel and this divorce – it’s such a strange feeling!   I should be happy to be free and single again, but I’m not.”
"It's too late to be having second thoughts"
Colin tells her it is too late to be having second thoughts, reminding her that he is having a baby with another woman.   “Were you like this when we split up?   Crying into your gin?” he enquires, but she denies it.
Iolo inspects the boiler
Iolo comes round to look at the boiler, and remarks that Ffion could do without this right now.   Ffion tries to sound confident and in control,
"You've been playing around with this, haven't you?"
but after a cursory inspection, Iolo says, “This has been tampered with – someone’s made a right mess of it!   You’ve been playing around with it, haven’t you?”
She admits that she “Turned that bit,” and has been looking on the internet for instructions.   Iolo reprimands her that she should not play around with gas, and that she has made it worse;
He gets rather angry . . .
“It’s OK to ask for help;  don’t pretend you can do it all!”
. . . but soon relents
However he says he will be able to sort it out now, and does not want any money;  “It’ll cost you a cuppa!”
Anita begins her grilling . . .
Anita sits down at the table and invites Aled, “Tell us a bit about yourself – do you live in Porthcawl?”
. . . and Aled suggests going to the pub . . .
He feels uncomfortable and asks Kelly, “Didn’t you say there was a nice pub round here?”
. . . but owing to her hangover, Kelly prefers the café
Unfortunately, Kelly is still nursing a massive hangover, and suggests going to the café instead.
Megan brings her Lobscouse . . .
Megan takes a bowl of Lobscouse to Siôn, and says she wants to talk about the Chapel accounts, handing him a £50 cheque, which the children raised, selling cakes after the Sunday service.
. . . and worries Siôn by her talk about the accounts
She asks how much is in the accounts at the moment, but Siôn is not sure;  “I’ll let you know!” he says.
"You must be honest with Iolo"
Britt advises Wiliam that he should be honest with Iolo, or he will be hurt, and maintains that they will get through this.   Then Iolo comes in, listing all the advantages of their living together.
But Wiliam tries to make excuses, then finally agrees
Wiliam says that it is too soon, and that he already has a house, but Iolo insists that will be a lot of fun, so in the end Wiliam agrees.   Then he hurries off to work.
Iolo is overjoyed that he is moving in
Iolo jubilantly announces to Britt, “He’s moving in!”
Colin assures Gaynor that the divorce is all for the best,
"I didn't want another child"
but she is dwelling on the fact that she refused to have another child with Hywel;  “It’s strange seeing him doing it with Sheryl, of all people!”
“He has made his bed, let him lie on it,” Colin tells her, “You’ll find someone else – you’re still beautiful!”   She asks whether she should talk to Hywel about her feelings, and he strictly advises against it.
Kelly tells Aled she is over her split with Jinx
In the café, Kelly tells Aled she feels down after the split with her fiancé last week, “But after meeting you, I’m over it.   We could go for a meal in Swansea tomorrow night.”
"You said you wanted a bit of fun"
Aled has different ideas;  “A meal?   You said you wanted a bit of fun – we don’t want to go on dates – let’s go for a ‘sesh’ at Porthcawl.”
"I want to get to know you sober"
Kelly indicates she wants to get to know him sober, but he realises she does not want a serious relationship.   He says, “You and I are not suited.    I have to go – I’m meeting the boys later,” and he leaves.
Ffion is alone and depressed
Downcast, Ffion sits at the table, then goes over to the fridge,
She gets the cans from the fridge . . .
takes out the three cans, opens one of them
. . . is about to drink one, when . . .
and raises it, almost to her lips.   Then she suddenly realises what she is doing,
. . . she manages to resist the temptation!
and with a superhuman effort goes to the sink and pours it away.
"What am I doing?"
Kelly returns to Anita’s, complaining, “I managed to get dumped by someone I’m not even dating!   What am I doing?”   Anita tells her she is just trying to move on, and Kelly continues, “And I’m not making a very good job of it!”
"You're better than that, Kelly!"
Anita remarks, “Going out looking for someone and sleeping with them is not the way to do it.   You’re better than that, Kelly!”
"Jinx isn't coming back, is he?"
Kelly bursts into tears;  “Jinx isn’t coming back, is he?”   Anita answers that no-one knows what he will do, but it is what Kelly does that is important;  “You’re stronger than you think!”
Megan is still asking awkward questions
Britt comes home to find Megan there, and asking Siôn if he has finished the annual report.
Siôn receives support from Britt
When she wants to see it, Britt interrupts to say the draft is impossible to read, and she should wait for the finished version.
"I could help you sort out the accounts"
Then Megan offers to help him sort out the accounts.
"I had better get on with it"
“The finished report will be in your hands by the end of the week,” Siôn insists, “So I had better get on with it.”   After Megan has left, he is certain that she know the money is missing;
Siôn is sure that she knows
“She gets her nose in everywhere,” he says.

Britt tells Siôn about Wiliam and Iolo
Then Britt tells him about the situation with Iolo and Wiliam;  he maintains that Iolo should be told, but Britt wants to leave Wiliam to tell him.
