1 June 2015

Ffion consults the laptop . . .
Ffion, in her dressing gown, is looking at the laptop when Jinx comes in with Arwen;  she tells him it is schoolwork,
. . . and Jinx finds what she was looking at . . .
but when she goes for a shower he checks and finds a page entitled “Child Residence — know your rights.”
. . . while Ffion finds his book
She in turn finds a book in his room, “The Custody Minefield.”
As they argue, she says, “We might not be able to stand each other, but surely we should be able to show some respect,” and Jinx retorts, “What’s that?”
Jinx is concentrating on Arwen
She assures him that she and Gethin have finished, but Jinx considers that does not make much difference.
In the garage, Garry has a phone call, asking about the quad bike,
"Sorry, your car's not finished"
then Anita comes in to collect her car,
Gethin gets the blame . . .
and Garry blames Gethin for it not being finished.   When Dani arrives, she admonishes Garry for being so hard on Gethin,
. . . but Dani standsup for her love-sick brother
“What if you were heart-broken, and had the boss screaming at you?”
Garry replies sarcastically, “Poor dab!   He can have the rest of the day off!”   Gethin wastes no time in removing his overalls and going.
"Anita will be covering your shifts"
Hywel calls to see how Jinx is, and to inform him that Anita will be covering his shifts at CwmFM for the next week, just to make it easier for him.   Jinx is furious;
Jinx is angry
“There’s nothing wrong with me – I’m not ill!” he insists, “And you’ve  arranged all this behind my back!   Get lost, Hywel!”
"My customer is starting to lose patience!"
In the Deri flat, Garry tells Sioned that his customer is starting to lose patience, and he suspects that she is getting cold feet.
Sioned reckons she has it all under control
She, however, has concluded that no-one at Penrhewl will lose out, as the insurance will pay for the loss.
She explains her plan to Garry
“I’ve got plans – today is market day, so Cadno and DJ will be out, and Auntie Marian is at the Bethania Coffee Morning.   The Quad keys are in the kitchen, and they never lock the door, so I’ll get the keys, leave them in the ignition, and you can go up later with the trailer and finish the job.   It’s easy!”
DJ Anita is at work in CwmFM . . .
As Anita introduces another song on CwmFM, Jinx arrives;  “I’m in the middle of a programme,” she says,
. .  . when a belligerent Jinx walks in . . .
and he snarls, “My programme!
. . . and almost comes to blows with Hywel
Hywel appears, and gets into an argument with Jinx – it appears they may resort to violence, but Jinx then turns and leaves.
Dani administers a head massage to Gethin, as she says it will relieve his stress and rid him of the toxins in his body.
"What would you do?"
When Gaynor comes in to talk to Sheryl, Dani takes Gethin off to the café.   “What would you do if your husband refused to sign the divorce papers?” demands Gaynor.
"Hywel has been very busy!"
Sheryl gives excuses that Hywel has been very busy, but Gaynor points out that it only takes a second to sign his name.   “You have no idea what’s going on,” she tells Sheryl,
"What else could he be hiding?"
“I remember that feeling;  if he’s not honest with you about this, what else could he be hiding?”   Sheryl insists there are no secrets between Hywel and her.
Sioned purloins the keys . . .
Sioned walks into Penrhewl and helps herself to the keys, but is disturbed by Cadno, returning for her phone.
. . . is disturbed by Cadno . . .
Sioned says she has come to see Marian, forgetting about the Coffee Morning.
. . . refuses a lift . . .
She refuses a lift back to  the village, and when Cadno drives away,
. . . and puts the keys in the Quad Bike
she goes to put the keys into the ignition of the Quad Bike in the barn.
Gethin cannot keep his eyes off Ffion
Dani talks to Gethin in the café, but his mind is elsewhere, as Ffion is sitting nearby.
"So, you've been dumped!"
“So, you’ve been dumped – it’s not the end of the world!” Dani tells him.
“You’re so sensitive – you know that?” he replies, and tells her that he intends to go over and tell Ffion how he feels.
Dani dissuades him, changing the subject by talking about the soup kitchen, and Gethin says he needs a money-raising idea.
"That's a great idea"
Dani suggests a barbecue, and Anita, who has just come in, agrees that it is a great idea;  “Don’t you agree?” she asks Ffion.
"I don't want people talking about me"
“Why should I?” answers Ffion, “I don’t want to be surrounded by people talking about me, although I’ve got nothing to be ashamed of?”
Is there hope for Gethin?
Gethin thinks he may detected a glimmer of hope for him.
Sheryl appears to be wasting another good meal
Sheryl is again toying with her chicken and salad at the Deri;  she tells Hywel of Gaynor’s visit and her demands.
"I have signed the papers!"
He states categorically that he has signed the papers, but has not yet sent them to Gaynor’s lawyer.
Sheryl does some detective work . . .
Then he has to return to CwmFM, but carelessly leaves his bag behind, into which, predictably, Sheryl looks
. . . and, predictably, find the papers unsigned
and finds the unsigned papers.
Garry has loaded the Quad Bike into a trailer, closes the shutter and is about to get into the Range Rover when he is surprised by a shout –
Sioned laughs at Garry's discomfiture
Oi!”   He is relieved to find it is only Sioned,
She says she has put on a perfect performance
who tells him how she was almost caught by Cadno while obtaining the keys, and boasts that she deserves an Oscar, before getting into the passenger seat,
Seeing Jinx, Ffion leaves the café
Jinx comes into the café to join Anita and Hywel, upon which Ffion gets up to leave;  “You don’t have to leave because I’m here,” he tells her, but she tells him she is on her way to collect Arwen.   Then another argument follows about who should be picking up Arwen, and when.
CwmFM programme planning
When Ffion has gone, Jinx asks Hywel who will be presenting the programme on Thursday;  “Both of you,” he replies,
Jinx does not like the ides of joint presentation
which does not go down well with Jinx, but seems to be welcomed by Anita.
"I want a word!"
At this point Sheryl arrives with Hywel’s bag;  “I want a word!” she says angrily, “How could you lie like that?   You haven’t signed the papers – and you don’t intend to!   You didn’t mean a word of what you said last week!”
The persuasive Hywel uses his charm . . .
Of course, Hywel smooth-talks his way out again, tell her that she and the baby are his priorities, not some legal papers, and that he will sign the papers on his own terms, not those of Gaynor.   Sheryl warns that it is not too late for her to change her mind.
“I’m not signing until I have read the papers carefully.   You’ve been through such a lot!
. . . and all is harmonious again
I will sign them, I promise!” says Hywel, soothingly.   As Hywel and Jinx head for the Deri,
Anita certainly does not trust Hywel
Anita looks sympathetically at Sheryl.
"You want an excuse to get rid of me!"
At the Deri, Jinx comes to the conclusion, “This show is a test, to compare Anita and me as presenters.   You want an excuse to get rid of me, but if I lose my job, I’ll never get custody of Arwen!”
"You know me, I don't tell lies!"
Hywel assures him, “It’s not that – your job’s safe!   You know me, I don’t tell lies!”   Jinx replies that he does, according to Sheryl.
"Don't argue with Ffion in court"
Hywel goes on to warn Jinx, “I wouldn’t argue with Ffion in a court of law.   I know Ffion as well as anyone – she has her weaknesses, but it takes a very stupid or a very brave man to cross her!”    Jinx enquires which category he comes under.
Hywel continues, “Think carefully before you drag your family through months of hell.   What’s the first rule of nature?   Never come between a mother and her offspring.”
Cadno reports on her visit to Carmarthen market
Sioned, who has been sitting at the bar, looking pensive, is joined by Cadno, who tells her, “They were all thin and ugly at the market today, and the animals were not much better!”

"The customer is happy . . ."
Garry comes in, and after receiving a text, informs Sioned that the Quad Bike arrived safely at its destination and the customer is happy.   “It went like clockwork!” she triumphs,
. . . but wait until they find out at Penrhewl!"
but Garry sounds a note of caution;  “Until  Penrhewl notice it’s missing!   I wouldn’t like to be there when they find out.”
