3 April 2015

Bobi appears to be oblivious of the hedgehog's injuries
Bobi is said to be very upset at what happened to Deri Draenog, so Marian makes a point of applying a plaster to its paw;  “You’ll be all right now,’ she assures the soft toy.   Eifion arrives to collect the boys and asks what has happened;  he also agrees to take some more photos around the farm.
Cadno prepares the Easter eggs
Cadno has put the children’s Easter eggs in a bag, and lectures Eifion about not letting them eat all the chocolate at once.
"I've experienced a personal tragedy"
Dai is on the phone, speaking in English, “I have to cancel, I’m afraid – I’ve experienced a personal tragedy.   Yes, the flights, transfers, hotel – the whole shebang.”
"Where's the insurance card?"
Then Diane comes in, looking for their insurance card.   Dai complains that there is no room in the case for his clothes, with all her pairs of shoes.
"Don't you want your wife to look her best?"
“Don’t you want your wife to look her best?” she asks him, then continues, “I’m looking for a little blue card.   I’m looking forward to this holiday so much, I could burst!”
Sioned, doing what she does best — shopping
Sioned is in the Deri, using the laptop for online shopping, this time for shoes;  she leaves a phone message for Garry, “You can’t avoid me for ever!”
Gwyneth's peace is shattered
Just along the bar, Gwyneth is hoping for some peace, when Gemma comes in, apologising that she was acting oddly last night.   “I was disappointed and wanted someone to blame;  if DJ is not man enough to accept me, then stuff him!
"You're my friend," simpers Gemma
You’re my friend, and I can’t afford to lose friends – please let me buy you coffee.”
"Just stop following me around!"
Gwyneth agrees if she will stop following her around.
DJ seems quite happy — before he notices Gemma
When Cadno and DJ arrive with the vegetables for the Deri kitchen, DJ sees Gemma there and beats a hasty retreat.
Dai lunges forward to grab the letter . . .
Diane, still looking for this insurance card, feels in the pockets of a pair of Dai’s trousers, and finds the brown envelope, which Dai quickly grabs, and refuses to say what it contains.
“I hope it’s not a letter from your fancy woman,” Diane says, “I know you’re hiding something!”
. . . but he cannot keep it from Diane for long
When she manages to get hold of the envelope and looks at the letter, she accuses him of organising the Jury Service deliberately, to avoid going on holiday.   He insists it is a mistake and he is sorting it out;  “We can go another time,” he tells her.
"There's nothing to stop me going!"
Diane is not placated;  “You know how excited I am.   There’s nothing to stop me going – your stupid mistake is not going to stop me.   I hope you get a long and boring court case!”
"I'm trying – why isn't he?"
Gemma continues haranguing Gwyneth, “He said we were still friends, and then ignored me.   I’m trying – why isn’t he?”   Gwyneth does not say a word, but looks rather concerned at the next pronouncement from Gemma:
Gemma utters a rather obscure old saying
“There’s an old saying – If you stand on the bridge long enough, the bodies of your enemies will float by.”
“Why is everything so black and white with you?” demands Gwyneth.
Looks as if Sioned's money has run out again
Sioned has selected the shoes she wants, but when entering her card number, the words, “Payment Denied” appear on the screen.
"Can I change one of the names?"
Diane’s answer to the problem is to phone the holiday company and ask to change Dai’s name to that of her friend Glenys.   Dai protests he is not paying for “Glenys Pop” to have a free holiday,
"I know there's an administration charge"
but Diane still has his credit card after paying for the dollars.
“Yes, I know there’s an administration charge.   The name is Ashurst,” she says, as Dai tries to leave and she pushes him back down into the chair.
Then Diane has some unwelcome news
Then her demeanour changes, as she repeats into the phone, “It was cancelled this afternoon?   Right, I’ll rebook – it doesn’t matter about the cost.”   But then she is informed that the flight is fully booked.
Dai tells her that he is sorry;  “Not as sorry as you will be!   Your life will not be worth living!” she growls.
Eifion sets up his action shot . . .
In the farmyard, Eifion sets up a photo, with Deri Draenog wielding a fishing line in front of a puddle.
. . . fetches his phone . . .
As he goes to fetch his phone, DJ drives into the farmyard in the 4x4;
. . . and Deri Draenog ends up under the 4x4
Eifion shouts a warning, but the front nearside wheel crushes the hedgehog’s body.   He retrieves the disintegrated toy, predicting, “Cadno’s going to castrate me!”
It is reduced to its component parts
and both of them fall about, laughing.
"I want us to do another job!"
Sioned marches into the garage, demanding, “I want you to find a backbone and for us to do a job together.”
Garry is very wary of another job
She is disappointed that the possible threat against Garry’s family made him chicken out.   As he set her up and failed, now it is his chance to prove himself to her.
"This isn't a an arm, it's a leg!" says Marian
Taking the remains of the hedgehog into the farmhouse, Eifion and DJ laugh as Marian determines if there is anything which can be done.   Hearing Cadno coming, they grab all the pieces, in the course of which DJ gashes his hand.
As Marian attends to his wound, Cadno demands of Eifion what is going on.
The state of Deri Draenog causes Cadno some amusement . . .
He produces all the component parts, which occasion peals of laughter from Cadno,
. . . which does not go down well with Marian
much to Marian’s disapproval.   “What are we going to tell Bobi?” asks Eifion, and Cadno adds, “And the nursery?”
Dai tries to repair relations with Diane . . .
Dai offers to make Diane a cup of tea, but receives no answer, then explains that it is his civic duty, and despite missing out on a holiday, he is looking forward to his Jury Service, a chance to give something back to society.
. . . but it is not working
Disgusted, Diane marches upstairs again.
DJ is unable to get his wound looked at in the surgery, as they are closed for Bank Holiday, and Gwyneth advises him to go to hospital.   Gemma enquires about what happened, but again he just walks away.
"Maybe he deserves his injury"
Gemma remarks to Gwyneth, “Maybe he deserves his injury – he’s not the only one who’s been hurt
Garry is not interested in shifting stolen goods . . .
Garry emphasises he is not interested in shifting stolen goods, and Sioned agrees;  “An Audi is the sort of job we should do!   People will think that someone has got the better of Garry Monk.   I know you get a kick out of showing everyone who’s boss!
. . . but Sioned accuses him of 'losing his bottle'
Just when everyone thinks you’re out of the game, you stick up two fingers by pulling off one more job, right under their noses.”
Back at Gwyneth’s house, Gemma admits that she really liked DJ;  “I know he really enjoyed himself too, but he’s not prepared to go to the effort of getting to know me, and what a nice person I am.”
"What did you do to his hand?"
Gwyneth asks, “What did you do to his hand?   You’re upset, you blame him and see him as the enemy.”
"I have the right to hurt him back"
Gemma replies, “He hurt me – I have the right to hurt him back.”
Garry lays down his conditions
Garry agrees to another job, but insists on some rules;  he must remain out of sight, so the target only sees Sioned, and there will only be one job, as he does not want Dani put in danger.
"What is the job goes well?"
Sioned is angry, asking, “What if the job goes well?”

"Then we can talk again"
“Then we can talk again,” Garry tells her.
