Ed thinks quickly and says, initially to Sioned’s horror, “Well it’s rather embarrassing, but the truth is . . . Sioned has had plastic surgery – she didn’t like the size of her nose. It isn’t funny! She didn’t want people to know she was so vain.”
Sioned has relaxed by now, and confirms his story.

![]() |
| "Oh, I get it! You're the one who's upset!" |
Kelly stresses that she is genuinely happy for them, then comes to the realisation, “I see – you’re the one who’s upset, not me! It’s Ffion and Jinx, instead of Ffion and you! Don’t take your frustrations out on me! I can read you like a book –
![]() |
| "And a crap book too!" |

Angela tells Debbie about the plastic surgery, while looking in a mirror,
![]() |
| "Do I have a big nose?" |
and asks, “Do I have a big nose? Be honest.” Debbie assures her that her nose is not big, but her mouth certainly is, as half the village knows about her birthday.
Angela is relentless; “There’s no shame in being 45. You’re not old, but you’re not a teenager either. What you need is a party, and I’ll organise one, like I did for Eileen.”
![]() |
| "It's my day, to do as I want!" |
Debbie does not fancy a spa, or some sophisticated do; she wants a blowout before she gets old. “It’s my day, to do what I want!”

Jinx, however, is excited; “We can look forward to when three becomes four! You are pleased, aren’t you?” and Ffion rather unconvincingly says she is. He does apologise for announcing it so publicly;

![]() |
| Sioned tells them about the "nose job" |
Sioned is not happy to hear the news, and tells them, “This one,” indicating Ed, “has given Eifion and Angela a new explanation about my nose – I’ve had a nose job!” Dani hastily suppresses a snigger.
![]() |
| "You almost had me believing that" |

Gethin replies, “I just don’t want to watch you two in my own home. Control your feelings in front of other people, and in front of his daughter!”
![]() |
| "Are you homophobic" |
“Have you got a problem with Wiliam and me? Are you homophobic?” rages Iolo, “Did Daniel’s picture remind you that you don’t have a relationship with Daniel? Re-opening old wounds?”
![]() |
| "No-one wants a relationship with me!" |
In a fit of anger, Gethin rips Daniel’s picture in two; “Like you said, no-one wants a relationship with me!” he snarls.
