Garry is on the phone, asking, “What have you got for me this week? Oh, that sounds nice. No problem, if you show your appreciation in the usual way.”

Dani arrives and assumes he was speaking to Sioned, and he denies it.
She tells him, “I’m not stupid! I don’t think it’s an affair – you have better taste – but you’re up to something, and I want to know what!”

| Garry admits a cheap diesel scam |
Garry admits he is doing business with Sioned; she asked if he could find a source of cheap diesel for the taxis. “I kept quiet in case Ed found out,” he tells her.

Meanwhile, Sioned, back from her spa weekend, puts her washing in the machine, while Ed worries about the things she bought while away.

“You always have to spoil everything!” she pouts.

| Ed finds the cashmere jumper |
While she is out of the room, he looks in her case and finds a bag labelled “Gwesty’r Lafant” (Lavender Hotel) containing an expensive red jumper.

| Rhys explains where he has been |
At APD, Rhys tells Dai he has been to clear out Jim’s lock-up while he is away in Aberdeen, and has brought back two table tennis bats.

| Dai has false accounting on his mind |
Dai is trying to understand the accounts, which are kept by Diane, and warns her, “We can get into trouble if the accounts are not right – fraud! That’s what the court case was about last week – false accounting. No-one else wanted to give him a second chance.” Rhys is bouncing a ping pong ball on the bat, and Dai shouts at him, “I need some silence to go through this mess – what a shambles!”

Anita chalks up today’s specials on the board in the Deri; Carmarthenshire Ham, Black Mountain Salmon and Gower Lamb.

Britt draws her attention to the bill from Penrhewl for the organic vegetables; “We could get it for half that at the wholesaler’s! Organic lettuce tastes the same – the only difference is it’s double the price, and has slugs on it! Fish and Chips and Lasagne – they’re our bread and butter!”

Siôn insists that they will see how the trial period goes. Then Anita announces that someone is coming from the Western Post; “I thought an article would attract more customers.”

Britt has no chance to pass her scathing judgment, as Madge from the chippy arrives to tell Britt that the potato deliveryman wants to see her. Siôn tries to reassure Anita that Britt will change her mind

Dani comes into the Deri and goes upstairs to see Ed; she tells him what Garry said about a cheap diesel scam for the taxis, but Ed is certain Sioned would not get into that.

However, he suspects that Garry has been buying her perfume and things. Dani insists that he tells her if he finds out any more.

The Western Post journalist predictably turns out to be Kelly; Anita tells her to include the word “Gastropub” in her piece,

and Britt comments, “Have you forgotten who our customers are?”
When she wants to take photographs for her two page article, Siôn suggests that she wait until Gwynfor and Mal are finished at the bar.

Britt objects; “We don’t want people to think it’s a pub for plebs!” and she turns and winks at Gwynfor and Mal.

In his investigations, Dai finds an invoice from “Hair Shine Divine” and Diane tells him that was for things for their en-suite at home. “You can’t do that – everything must be done by the book,” he instructs her.

Diane explodes; “I can’t leave you to do it; the last time you sent an invoice, the decimal point was wrong – you charged Mrs Morris, Glannant, £18 for an extension!”

| Courtney brings bad news |
Courtney comes in with the news that Jim will not be back this week as Uncle Adrian still has not come round. Rhys says he is going to the café for lunch, so Courtney decides to also go there.
Dai lays down the law; “From now on, you focus on the accounts, and we can scrap the cleaning business. You can’t cope with both, and the accounts are more important!”

| Diane has had enough — and retires |
Greatly offended, Diane takes off her APD fleece, puts on her coat and tells him, “I’ll leave everything in your safe hands –watch me! I’m retiring! I’ll be at home from now on, sitting and drinking coffee.” She storms out of the shop.

Garry asks Sioned, “Are you free this week?”

| He describes the course of action |
When she enquires why, he continues, “Drinks at a hotel, flirt with a middle-aged man, dump him and steal his car keys.”
Sioned likes the sound of this; “Who shall I be this time? Jess from Cardiff?”

She shows Garry the cashmere jumper she has bought for Ed, “But I have to think of where I got the money from first.”

| Garry quickly dreams up another story |
Then Ed arrives unexpectedly, and Garry again comes up with a spur-of-the-moment excuse for being there; “I wanted to give Dani a present, and thought Sioned could suggest something.” He replaces the jumper in the bag and leaves with it.
Ed tells Sioned, “One of the drivers knows where to get hold of cheap diesel, which would help reduce overheads.”

Sioned’s immediate response is, “Don’t start that! We need to keep the business clean!” This is just what Ed had expected her to say.

| Kelly is impressed by the food . . . |
Anita gives Kelly samples of her menu, and Britt mutters that she hopes Kelly is paying. Kelly tells Anita that she has always been an amazing chef; “I can’t say the same for the atmosphere here!” and Anita agrees that they are always arguing like cat and dog.

Kelly’s conclusion is, “Until you, Britt and Siôn start getting on, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!”

Courtney arrives at the café, where Ricky, in his apron, has been given a lunchtime shift by his mother.

He tells Courtney that it is his birthday on Friday, and he wants to go out bowling with his mates.

Courtney, however, is more interested in Rhys, who is eating his lunch, although he shows no interest in her.

Ed tells Sioned they will have to look for more contract work for the taxis, but she seems more concerned about what she will wear; “I’m going out with the girls again – I haven’t seen Eleri for ages!” When she leaves the room, Ed hears her phone sound a text tone;

he finds the phone and reads, “Y Graig hotel. Tomorrow. 5 o’clock. Garry.”

Downstairs in the Deri, Anita is told of Dai’s outburst against Diane; “He spoke to me as if I were some kind of crook, who did nothing all day at the yard but drink coffee! I’m not going back until I get a full apology. He won’t be able to cope with all the paperwork. I’ll let him stew while I have a week off. Then he’ll come running back with his tail between his legs!”

Britt moans to Garry at the bar about Anita, so he suggest sacking her, but Britt cannot, as, “Siôn is 100% behind her. I don’t know if the price of her meals covers the cost of having her here!”

Diane fancies trying Anita’s salmon, but Garry interrupts, “Didn’t you say the salmon was off?” Britt instead persuades her to have scampi.

| Dai is somewhat overwhelmed . . . |
Dai is overwhelmed with paperwork, and the laptop starts malfunctioning, constantly bleeping. Rhys returns, and Dai tells him there is a pile of ironing to be done, but Rhys tells him he would be better employed sorting out the computer,

and directs Dai towards the ironing.

| "They're meeting at a hotel tomorrow!" |
When Dani comes into the Deri, Ed says, “I’m convinced that they are seeing each other again – they’re meeting at a hotel tomorrow! Sioned has changed, and Garry’s responsible for that. He loves to destroy other people’s lives!”

Dani resolutely insists, “Right, we’ll follow them to the hotel! I’m willing to fight for my relationship – if you want to rescue yours, come with me!”
