Hywel finds this baby tiring

Hywel is finding that caring for a baby is a tiring job, as he takes Meilyr for a walk, in the company of Garry and Arwen.

| Ffion greets Arwen |
Ffion sees them, runs across and kisses Arwen; she offers to take her home, but Garry refuses.

| "Britt would kill me!" |
“Britt would kill me if I dumped Arwen in the village!” he says, rather insensitively.

| Ffion wants her baby back |
When Ffion protests, he warns her she will scare Arwen, and advises, “Go and speak to Britt.”
Diane visits the salon, where customers are rather few, and tells Dani, “I want a little change.”

| "A skinhead, like Dai?" |
Dani asks her, “Colour, style – or a skinhead like Dai?”

| "I could set up a company" |
Diane confides that she has heard of a company turning over a decent profit, and thinks she could set up one on similar lines. Dani is intrigued; “What is it?”

| "You're not going to be an escort?" |
When Diane reveals it is escorts, Dani cannot believe it; “You’re not going to be an escort?” Diane corrects her that she intends to set up her own company.

| "Cwm to Bed?" |
Dani laughs, “What will you call it? Deri Gwely?” (which is translated as ‘Cwm to Bed’)?”
Diane replies that it is not that sort of company; “A sophisticated business offering clients culture and conversation,” she explains, adding, “Would you consider being an escort? You’re clearly fed up with the salon.” Dani emphatically declines the offer, although Diane points out it could be financially worth her while.

| "The holiday is cancelled" |
Ed calls at Angela’s house and hands Eifion written confirmation that the holiday has been cancelled;

| "Drama is the last thing I need" |
“I hope that’s the end of the matter,” he says, “Drama between Sioned and Angela is the last thing I need. Life would be easier for both of us if they are friends.”
Eifion protests that Angela is not the problem, and suggests that Ed should talk to Sioned, before closing the door. Then Ed realises he has not been given the cheque and knocks again.

| "Why couldn't I look after Arwen?" |
Ffion goes to Y Felin and demands, “Why did you ask Garry to look after Arwen, when I’m free?” Britt replies that she did not want to push Ffion too soon. “I’m ready to have her back – I don’t even miss drinking – I’m better! I’ll come back this evening and pick her up.”

Britt answers, “Maybe it’s best if you leave it a little longer, to make sure. We’ve got a responsibility to make sure the girl is safe.” Ffion resolves to go and see what Siôn has to say, and storms out.

As Dani looks up ‘Welsh Escorts’ on her phone, Vicky comes in, having posted her CV through the door last night.

She tells Dani she really needs work, although her previous experience is stacking shelves; “I’m not afraid of hard work,” she maintains,

and Dani, after initial hesitation, says she can start on Monday.

In the café, Hywel is pleased to see that Meilyr is asleep,

and Arwen is having a drink. Garry says, “It will be easier when Sheryl comes back home,” but Hywel predicts it will be strange, having three in the house.

| "Come for dinner tonight" |
Ed catches Angela outside the Deri; “I’d like it if you and Eifion came over for dinner tonight.” Angela expresses amazement after all that has happened, but he continues, “We can sit down together, like a family.” Angela replies that there is no point, and she is sick of trying to be Sioned’s sister. “If you want the new business to succeed, we all have to get on,” insists Ed.

| "Britt won't let Arwen come home" |
Ffion complains to Siôn in the Deri, “I’ve been to see Britt, but she won’t let Arwen come home. She says I’m not ready – but I am! She’s my child, and she should be with her mother!” Siôn promises to have a word with Britt later, as soon as Ows comes in.

“Tell her I will get my daughter back tonight, no matter what she says!” is Ffion’s parting comment.

Ed hands Sioned the cheque and announces he is cooking dinner, but not the romantic meal for two which she anticipated.

| "Do it yourself – I'm not helping" |
As soon as she hears that Angela and Eifion are coming over, she grabs her coat and bag, going to pay the cheque into their account. “You’re on your own, so get cooking and cleaning,” she tells him, “I don’t intend to lift a finger to help!”

Vicky is browsing in the charity shop, commenting that some of the stuff is overpriced. When she looks at a bracelet, Megan suggests,

“You take the bracelet and I’ll pay; you use your money to buy something for the baby – raising a child is a costly business.”

Vicky promptly flies off the handle; “What do you know about raising children! I work really hard to look after my son – in fact I got a new job today! You have no right to judge me! You won’t see me in here again!”

Siôn returns home and asks Britt, “Isn’t it up to Ffion when she is ready to have Arwen back?” Britt replies that taking Ffion at her word is putting his grand-daughter at risk.

“She was an alcoholic five minutes ago, and now says she is ready to be a mother again! I’ll do anything for that little girl, and as her grandfather, you should do the same.”

As Siôn receives a text from Ffion, wanting to come over for a chat, Britt emphasises, “It’s Arwen’s wellbeing that matters, and that’s why she should stay with us.”

The atmosphere at the dinnertable is rather strained, with Angela thanking Sioned for cancelling the holiday;

so Sioned suddenly jumps up to give him some more.

On the way back she deliberately deposits a ladle-full of food on Angela’s top, hoping to provoke another row.

Showing remarkable restraint, Angela laughs it off, remembering the time when a waiter in Venice spilled sauce on her top, and she had to take it off; “The entire restaurant stared at us!” she laughs.

Sioned scowls at her; “You’d better go home and change!” but Angela merely remarks that it is only an old top, and worse things happen at sea.

Garry goes to Llwyncelyn with takeaways and several bottles; “As soon as I mentioned Sheryl in the café, you were out of there like a shot,” he observes.

Hywel explains, “It’s just that I’ve enjoyed my time with Meilyr, and loved having him to myself – I never had the chance before.”

Garry advises him, “You need Sheryl – I didn’t always get on with Gwyneth, but I couldn’t have raised Gwern without her.”

In the Deri, Vicky tells Dani she cannot wait for Monday; “We’ll have some fun – more than I would have working with her,” she says, indicating Megan. “How dare she tell me how to be a mother – she has no idea!”
Dani puts her straight; “She does have children, but they live away and she never sees them – she’s probably lonely.”

Vicky’s conscience is stirred, so she goes to apologise to Megan for her outburst,

As they arrive home, Eifion praises Angela for showing Sioned who is boss, and not rising to the bait. Angela is fed up with her childish games.

“Let’s get you out of those dirty clothes!” he urges, and they disappear upstairs, as he says, “We’re celebrating you putting Sioned in her place!”

| "Where's Arwen?" |
The first thing Ffion wants to know when she gets to Y Felin is, “Where’s Arwen?”

| "We cannot take the risk!" |
Siôn says that they have talked about this, and that for the time being they cannot give her back to Ffion. They are unsure whether she has made a full recovery or not, but cannot take the risk.
“You both drink here, so who is taking the risk?” demands Ffion, but Britt points out that their drinking is under control.

| "You're breaking my heart!" |
Ffion rages, “You nagged him to change his mind – you can’t do this! You’re breaking my heart!” Siôn reiterates that they have to be certain she has recovered, and until then, Arwen stays with them.

Ffion rushes out in tears.
“I’m sure we’re doing the right thing,” says Siôn, but sounds rather doubtful, and Britt agrees that they can relax, knowing that Arwen is safe.
