Breakfast in bed for Angela
Eifion boasts to Courtney that he is presenting Angela with breakfast in bed, coffee, croissants and jam, as she has a day off.   When she comes downstairs, Angela complains that Courtney is wearing lipstick;  “I wouldn’t have been allowed,” she says.
"The world has changed!"
Courtney points out, “When you were at school, there were no computers or mobiles – the world has changed!”   When she has left for school, Angela moans that she talks to Eifion more than to her mother;  she says that Courtney hardly said a word to her last night.
"I've just got to make a phone call"
Eifion tells her to go back to bed for her breakfast, but first she has to make a phone call to check that her colleague, Sandra, is going to see Mrs Allison.
Siôn is delivering posters
Siôn is putting posters through the doors and meets Ffion;  “You look great – how are you feeling?” he asks.
"Apart from one thing"
Ffion replies that she is starting to feel quite well, apart from one thing, and Siôn knows what she is going to say.
"I'm ready to take Arwen back now"
“I’m ready to take Arwen back now,” she tells him, “Does she ask about me, and want to know when she will be back?   It’s different now – I can take care of her!   I’m serious about staying dry – I’m doing this for Arwen.”
"I'll see what I can do"
Siôn agrees and will see what he can do.
Angela is lying on the floor
Eifion comes downstairs to find Angela lying on the floor;  she says that she thinks she fainted,
Eifion helps her to a chair
and he fetches a glass of water and helps her to a chair, while she protests that she is fine now.   “Get my breakfast,” she tells him, “And don’t mention this to Courtney – she worries about everything!”
Ffion has had a manicure
Ffion has just had a manicure at the salon when Dani receives a phone call;  Vicky is keen to hear if it is another enquiry for the escort service.
"There's no-one available"
Dani says, “It was a bloke from London, looking for a pretty Welsh speaker, but I told him there was no-one available.”
"I'll do that!"
Vicky protests that this is just the job for her, but Dani is adamant that Diane will not countenance any “one-on-one” bookings, unless they are Glenys’s contacts.   Vicky whines that Diane does not have to know.
"Iolo is coming round"
Siôn returns home and tells Britt he has invited Iolo over for a family meeting.   “Listen, we have to decide when Arwen can go home;  a lot has happened since we last discussed it.   Ffion has been dry for three weeks, and is a lot better.”
"Alcoholism lasts a lifetime!"
Britt disagrees;  “Alcoholism lasts a lifetime!   She’ll have to be dry a lot longer than that to prove that it’s under control.”   As Iolo arrives, Siôn points out that is why they need to discuss the matter, and Britt is angry that Iolo knew about the reason for their meeting before she did.
"There are more important things"
Courtney returns home at lunchtime, still worried about her history project to be handed in this afternoon;  “There are more important things in life than the history of Dryslwyn and Carreg Cennen,” Eifion tells her.
Courtney is concerned to hear about her mother
“I’m not supposed to tell you this but your mother fainted this morning;  she’s gone to the surgery to make sure that it’s nothing.”
"Is it because we argued?"
Courtney is concerned that it was a result of her arguments with Angela;  “I know I wind her up, but I want some breathing space.”
"Your mother's lucky to have you"
Eifion assures her that she is not to blame and says that Angela is lucky to have such a  nice daughter.
Ed appears to be disgusted by the magazine content
In the Deri, Ed sees Vicky reading a magazine, apparently with  particularly salacious contents.   “These things happen everywhere, even in a village like Cwmderi!”
"I'm sure you have a kinky side!"
Vicky informs him, “I’m sure you have a kinky side hiding somewhere!”   He naturally denies this.
Vicky is after a tiny favour
She sidles over to join him at the bar;  “I would be working as an escort, but Dani won’t let me.   She can’t trust me with a ‘one-to-one’.”   Ed commiserates, commenting that she was great on the last job, so she pleads with him for one tiny favour – to have a word with Dani on her behalf.   “Just remind her how good I was – I really need the money!”
"The speaker holds a conch shell"
Siôn has the weird idea (from Lord of the Flies, apparently) for them to speak in turn, the speaker holding the teapot (in lieu of a conch shell).
Iolo's turn next . . .
Siôn has had his turn and hands the pot to Iolo, who says, “Wiliam and I loved having her, but to keep her here would be selfish!”
. . . but Britt starts rabbitting on
Britt will not wait her turn, but interrupts, “Arwen loves being here, and I’ve got to know her so well.”   She continues at length, and Siôn has a job to shut her up and let Iolo continue.
Iolo's opinion is clear
Eventually, Iolo speaks again;  “If Ffion is ready to have her back, we shouldn’t stand between a mother and her daughter.   Giving her back would be like a reward for doing so well.”
"She's an alky!"
Britt raises her voice;  “You’re making Ffion sound like a saint!   She’s an alky, trying to sort herself out, and she’s failed in the past!   I have three children of my own, shifts at the Deri and the chippy, and don’t have time for everything.   But that little girl is better off here – happy and safe!”
He does look rather an idiot with that teapot
Siôn maintains that she will be safe with Ffion, and that Britt is outvoted.
"She's staying with us!   And that's the end of it!"
Her anger rising, Britt announces, “I’m not voting, and not going to discuss it further!   You’ve forgotten what a mess she was in five weeks ago!   Who can say whether she’ll be like that next week – or the week after?   No, for now Arwen’s staying with us!   And that’s the end of it!”
"Right, what do we do now?"
Siôn and Iolo look at each other.
Ed reckons everyone wants escorts these days
When Dani comes into the Deri, Ed tells her, “You’d never believe how many men in the taxi talk about escorts.   They’re looking for local girls, and I don’t know what to say.   Its a very trendy idea these days, there is good money in it, and I got my biggest tip ever on that first job.   Vicky was brilliant – all the men loved her.   You’ve got a good one there, and you should use her!”
"I'm just what you need!"
At that moment, Vicky returns from the ladies’ where she has been hiding, and emphasises to Dani how suitable she would be for this bloke from London.   Dani says she will talk to Diane about it.
Lipstick is removed
Courtney removes her lipstick when she arrives home, and Eifion admits he told her about Angela’s fainting.
"Are you all right, Mam?"
Angela assures them that she has been working too hard and possible has  some anaemia.   She tells Courtney that she is not responsible in any way.   Eifion promises that he and Courtney will do their share of household chores.
"Trade is very slow"
Dani tells Britt that trade is very quiet at the salon;  “Ffion was having a manicure earlier.   I was worrying about her and her drinking, and doubted she’d cope,
"Ffion's looking great!"
“but its been five weeks and she’s looking great!”
"People often go for months"
Britt pessimistically answers, “People often go for months and then give in, with everyone drinking at Christmas!”   Dani thinks that Britt wants her to fail.
Who is visiting Ffion?
Meanwhile Siôn arrives at Cysgod y Glyn, telling Ffion he has someone who wants to see her.
Arwen looks pleased to be home
He opens the door and Iolo comes in, with Arwen.
"Hiya, beautiful baby!"
“Hiya, beautiful baby!” exclaims Ffion and hugs her.
"I asked you not to"
Angela demands, “Why did you tell Courtney, after I asked you not to?   It’s me who decides what to share with my daughter.   I don’t want to blow this out of proportion, but I don’t want her to feel she can be honest with you and not with me.”
"I'm only a stranger in her house"
Eifion admits that she is Courtney’s mother, while he is only, “A stranger in her home, working out where I fit in.   But from now on, I’m going to make a fuss of you.”
Ed's taxi is back from Swansea . . .
A taxi pulls up outside the salon
. . . but Vicky is not   (and what about her young baby?)
and Ed tells Dani that Vicky sent him home as she is staying the night with the escort client.   Dani is aghast;
"We don't condone sleeping with clients"
Cwmni Perffaith doesn’t condone sleeping with clients!”   Ed reveals that Vicky did not actually mention “sleeping”.
"I thought you'd taken Arwen for a walk"
As Britt writes on the specials board at the Deri, Siôn and Iolo return;  “I thought you’d taken Arwen for a walk,” she says, and Siôn agrees that they did.
"Is she with Wiliam?"
“Where is she now?   With Wiliam?” she enquires.
Iolo reports, “We took her to Cysgod y Glyn – she’s with Ffion.”
"You've gone too far!"
Britt erupts into fury, telling them they have gone too far, and that she had said no, but they went behind her back.
"Here we go – she's off again!"
“My opinion doesn’t count!   You’ve given Ffion priority over me, and done exactly what I told you not to do!   It seems as if I mean nothing to you – so from now on, you don’t mean anything to me!
"We don't share anything else!"
“We may share the house and the pub, but we don’t share anything else!”   She marches out of the Deri.
