Natalie wants to meet Gethin
As Gethin is about to leave for work, he has a phone call from Natalie, who wants to meet him at lunchtime to talk about Christmas.   He tells Ffion that he will meet Natalie in the café;
"You want me to stay out of the way?"
she comments, “And you want me to stay out of the way?
Sioned gives Vicky some advice
Sioned crosses the road and sees Nicky in his unattended pram outside the café;  she comments to Vicky when she comes out, “It’s not a good idea to leave him out here.”
"Shut your face!"
She receives a hostile reply;  “Shut your face, or you’ll get another pint in your face!   And stop staring at Nicky – I don’t want him having nightmares!   You’re like an eight-year-old, Sioned – no wonder Ed is happy to be out in a taxi all day!”
"You'll regret picking on Vicky!"
Debbie warns Sioned that she will regret picking on Vicky, as she is a good mother, or at least she will be, and she is learning fast.
"Sleeping with men to make money?"
Sioned replies, “What sort of example is she?   Sleeping with men to make money?   I don’t think you’ll be so proud of her when people find out – and they will, as she’s not even trying to hide it!”
Kelly books a taxi
Kelly is booking a taxi back from a party;  as Sioned comes in, Kelly says she has to go and look for something newsworthy.
"Is a prostitution racket newsworthy?"
“Do you call a prostitution racket newsworthy?” enquires Sioned.   Kelly is definitely interested.
"Your visitor is here"
At the garage, Garry remarks to Gethin, “That visitor you’re expecting at lunchtime has just arrived.”   Natalie walks in, proposing that they have an early lunch, and Garry unexpectly gives Gethin his blessing.   Natalie says they will go to the Deri, and she will pay for the meal;
"That's an offer you can't refuse"
“That’s an offer you can’t refuse,” Garry tells him.
"Sioned's been saying terrible things"
In the café, Debbie tells Diane that Sioned has been saying some terrible things about Vicky and the escort business;  “I expect you want to keep it hush-hush.”
"Let's concentrate on the council meeting"
Diane is more interested in talking about the council meeting to discuss the housing development.   Jim has produced a petition in favour,
Debbie's support poster
and Debbie unveils her poster, which she attaches to the front of the counter.
Dani prefers to stay neutral
Dani comes in and is offered a free coffee if she signs the petition, but she prefers to stay neutral.
Anita is extremely put out
Then Anita enters, looking for Kelly, and is furious when she sees the poster;
"Take it down!"
“Take it down!   You should be ashamed!   Meic would never want to be associated with the development!   I can’t bear to see his name there!”
Debbie’s solution is, “Don’t come in here, then – no-one’s forcing you!”   As Anita stomps out,
"That's why I'm staying neutral"
Dani advises them that is why she is staying neutral.
Natalie remembers last Christmas
In the Deri, Natalie reminisces that last Christmas she had her friend Stella staying, and she was drunk for three days solid.   It spoiled Daniel’s Christmas, as he was not used to people being that drunk.
"Daniel can't wait for you to come"
“Daniel can’t wait for you to come this year – he’s expecting the best Christmas ever!”
“No pressure then,” mutters Gethin, “How can I not come?”
Kelly gathers copy for the Western Post
At Bryntirion, Kelly interviews Diane about the development, advising that Elgee Homes already have planning permission, and she wants to show that opinion is split and not everyone is against it.
Kelly promises that the article will be in the Western Post on Thursday, then mentions,
"Escort company getting . . . raunchy?"
“One other thing – I heard on the grapevine that the escort company has developed into something more . . . raunchy!   You and Dani were in on it from the start – didn’t Vicky work for you?”
"I wouldn't touch anything dodgy!"
“What she does with her time doesn’t concern me!” emphasises Diane, “I wouldn’t touch anything dodgy, if that’s what you are suggesting!   Whatever you’ve heard, it’s nothing to do with me!
"Right – ta-ra!"
Understand?”
"I still miss that – and everything else!"
During their meal, Natalie and Gethin remember what they used to eat and drink at Christmas.   “Daniel wants you to spend New Year’s Eve with us as well,” enthuses Natalie, “A panto at the Grand, afternoon on the Gower – he’ll love it!   All the things we used to do – I still miss that – and everything else!
"We could give it a try"
We could give it a try, maybe, starting with Christmas.”
"I want to be with you, but . . ."
Gethin begins, “I want to be with you, but . . .”   Natalie interrupts him, saying that Garry told her the garage is closing for two weeks over Christmas.   This will be the best Christmas I’ve ever had.”
Natalie grasps his hand . . .
So saying, she holds his hand, and at that moment,
. . . just at the right moment for Ffion to see
Ffion walks in through the door of the Deri, sees them and quickly walks out again.
"Diane's gone off the idea big time"
Kelly goes to Maes-y-Deri, and tells Vicky that Diane seemed reluctant to discuss the escort company.   “She’s gone off the idea big time,” replies Vicky, “Dani’s against it, and Sioned is giving Ed grief!”   Kelly enquires what exactly happened, and is told quite plainly,
"I slept with a client – but didn't get paid"
“I took a job without asking Diane, and slept with a client, but I didn’t ask for money – it was part of the job.   Dewi made me laugh, he was a real gentleman.   He talked about all sorts of things, and had nice eyes and teeth.
"I slept with him for a laugh!"
I slept with him for a laugh!”
And she gets stuck into her pot noodle . . .
As Vicky tucks into a pot noodle,
. . . which Kelly finds rather distasteful
Kelly looks rather disgusted and leaves.
"I need you, Geth!"
Natalie continues working on Gethin;  “Daniel is almost a teenager now, and in a few years will be a man.   I need you, Geth!”   He replies that he has to be honest with her.
"Ffion?"
Her face falls as she asks, “Ffion?”
He tells her that he has moved back in with Ffion;  Natalie snarls, “We’ve been sitting here, making plans – and you didn’t tell me!   I can’t believe it!
"You haven't changed at all!"
I wanted commitment to Daniel and to us as a family, not for you to live a double life – again!   You haven’t changed at all!”   She walks out of the Deri.
"No article about escorts!"
Kelly goes to see Sioned and Ed to tell them there will be no article about the escorts;  “No-one has broken the law, or done anything wrong.   Vicky doesn’t deserve to be embarrassed or judged.   People will find out you fed me the story –
"Don't want them thinking you're a sactimonious old puritan!"
and you don’t want them thinking you’re a sanctimonious old puritan.   Let sleeping escorts lie – right?”
Sioned does not like that description
After Kelly has gone, Ed agrees that this would reflect worse on Sioned than Vicky;  she angrily answers,
"Vicky 'come and get me' Collins!"
“It’s obvious whose side you’re on – that slapper, Vicky come and get me Collins!   I wonder why!”
Kelly catches Anita crying
Anita is sobbing over Meic’s picture when Kelly arrives;  she relates how Debbie has been misusing Meic’s name, but Kelly points out that the name of the café is “Caffi Meic”.
She tells how the leaflets were shredded
Anita tells her about the leaflets being shredded, and that it will cost a bomb to replace them.
"We're going on the offensive
Kelly advises that they will have to go on the offensive, and they will find the cash somewhere.
"You're back with her, aren't you?"
When Gethin gets back to Cysgod y Glyn, he is greeted with, “You’re back with her, aren’t you?   I saw you in the Deri, holding hands, all lovey dovey!”
"I told her about you and me"
“That was her, not me,” he explains, “I told her about you and me – she was making a move on me, offering to get back together.”   Ffion comments that he must be delighted.
"Paid for out of Meic's fund"
Feeling much more positive, Anita relates that she has ordered more pamphlets and posters on the iPad, which should be delivered tomorrow.   “If Debbie can misuse Meic’s name, I can use the money from Meic’s fund to pay for them!   That’s what he would have wanted.”
However, Kelly reminds her that it is not her money;  she is undaunted, saying, “He would be very proud that I spent it on such a worthy cause!”
"You and I are more important!"
“You have to listen to me” insists Gethin, “I told Natalie that we’re living together, that we’re a couple.   You and I are more important that anything she can offer!”
"I bet you didn't tell her that!"
When Ffion replies that she bets he did not tell her that, he is adamant that he did;  “I knew she’d turn her back on me!”
“You expect me to believe that?” demands Ffion.   “Natalie offered you a way back to her and your son.   A smart woman with no problems and a son who you love, and you’re turning it down for what?
"An alcoholic mess!"
An alcoholic mess, whose life has shattered around her?”
"For the woman I love – that's who, Ffion!"
Gethin tells her, “No, for the bravest woman I’ve met, the prettiest, most honest – the one I love!   That’s who, Ffion!   We worked too hard to let her come between us now – I’m telling the truth.”
"You're mad, do you know that?"
They sit on the sofa;  “You’re mad, do you know that?” says Ffion,
"I'll tell her where to go!"
“If she comes here to try and destroy what we’ve got, I’ll tell her where to go!”
"I wouldn't like to be in her shoes!"
Gethin smiles, “I wouldn’t like to be in her shoes, then!”
