Hywel is taking Meilyr for a walk . . .
Sheryl wonders, “How can such a small baby create so much laundry?   Are you sure he’s all right to go to the village?   You don’t have to take him.”   Hywel insists he has every right to take his son for a walk,
. . . and as usual Sheryl fusses
but she  warns him, “You must be careful – take an extra blanket, as it’s cold today, and don’t forget he has a bottle at eleven.”
Ffion is definitely more her old self . . .
Ffion, looking remarkably perky,
. . . as she makes scrambled eggs
makes scrambled eggs for breakfast;  she tells Kelly, “I feel better, much better after yesterday!   What you did means a lot – I didn’t have much faith in you, but you’ve been brilliant, and so patient.
"We should go out today"
“I’ve been thinking that we could go out today.   The fresh air would do me good – how about a cuppa in the café?”
Kelly is doubtful whether she is ready, but Ffion answers that if she is not, they can come back home.
Scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast
Ffion dishes out the eggs, and Kelly agrees that they taste good;
Ffion is enjoying her food again
it is good to see Ffion tucking into her food again.
"How much?   They're taking the . . !"
Showing him a brochure, Angela asks what Eifion thinks of Y Glyndwr as a wedding venue.   “That must cost an arm and a leg! he exclaims, and when he sees the prices, adds, “How much?   They’re taking the . . !”
Angela reminds him that they have the money, and he maintains that they do not need to go overboard.   “What do you have in mind, then?” she demands, “And don’t say Registry Office!   It’s supposed to be a special day – romantic!”
"Can't we just have a cheap wedding?"
Eifion points out that he is not romantic;  “And it’s not as if it’s your first time,” he observes, “Can’t we just have a small, cheap wedding?”
"You tightwad!"
Furious, Angela calls him a “tightwad”.
Garry meets the proud father
When he meets Hywel with the baby outside the shop, Garry looks into the pram and comments,
Meilyr listens to Garry's advice . . .
“He’s lucky – he looks more like Sheryl than you!”   Speaking to baby Meilyr, he adds, “Keeping Dadi up at night, are you?
. . . to throw up over his father
“If you’re going to be sick, do it on Dadi, not Mami!”
He tells Hywel that he has been given a second chance,
"I'll try to get it right this time"
and Hywel says he will try to get it right this time.
A bit of gaming going on
Daniel is playing a video game at number 7, while Natalie tells Gethin that he loves coming.
Natalie springs a surprise on Gethin . . .
Then she asks a big favour;  “My Mam is having a hip replacement, and I have to care for her when she comes out of hospital.   Could you look after Daniel for a fortnight for me – take him to school and clubs?”
. . . which puts him in something of a quandary . . .
Gethin is in rather a quandary, having just received a text from Ffion;
. . . as he has responsibilities with Ffion
“Feeling much better – are you coming over today?”
He lies about his boss
He tells Natalie he would love to help, but his boss is difficult;  he will explain the situation and let her know the outcome.
Sioned has been out spending money again
Sioned goes to the café and boasts that she has bought a couple of bikinis for her holiday in Kefalonia, “Two weeks – five star hotel!”   Debbie replies that she is lucky to get a wet weekend in Burry Port.   Ffion and Kelly come in for coffee, but then so do Gethin, Daniel and Natalie.
"Are you sure she should be here?"
Gethin is of the opinion that this is too early, but Kelly insists,
"No thanks to you!"
“She’s doing well – no thanks to you!   You didn’t even bother to come over this morning!”
Ffion says sorry to Gethin
Ffion comes over to apologise for her behaviour, and Gethin promises to come and see her this afternoon.
"You never know when she will relapse"
Natalie warns him, “You never know when she will relapse.”   Gethin decides that the best idea is to take Daniel and his mother to the Deri instead.
Worried, Sheryl looks at her watch and then proceeds to take the washing from the machine;
Sheryl collapses in pain . . .
 suddenly she feels a sharp pain, clutches her chest and sinks to the floor, struggling for breath.
Hywel arrives home, convinced that Meilyr was smiling at him,
. . . and Hywel finds her there
and  discovers Sheryl on the kitchen floor.   Despite her protests, he insists that she must go to the hospital,
"You're going to the hospital!"
and carefully helps her to her feet.
At the Deri, Natalie enquires whether Ffion is getting the treatment she needs;
"To be honest, I don't see a lot of her"
“To be honest, I don’t see a lot of her,” he replies.
Garry comes in and is sitting at the bar as Daniel asks,
"Next time, can we go to the garage?"
“Next time, can we go to the garage?”
When they have left, Garry comments to Gethin,
"It's none of your business now!"
“You haven’t told them, then?”   Gethin replies that it is none of his business now, but Garry begs to differ;  “It is when I am expecting money from you – blaming other people won’t solve your problems.”
They look very anxious
Hywel and Sheryl look very concerned as they wait for the doctor;
"You need surgery urgently"
she comes in and announces, “You need surgery urgently – you’re on the emergency list!”
Sheryl is hesitant about the operation, but the doctor assures her that not having it is a riskier option.
"You're having the operation!"
Hywel voices his opinion;  “What is there to think about?   You’re having the operation!”
"I can do what I like!"
This naturally angers Sheryl;  “It’s my body – I can do what I like!”
"At least, you don't live with your mother!"
Angela joins Debbie in the Deri;  “At least, you don’t live with your mother – mind you, Eileen is normal, compared with mine!   She almost set the flat in fire, watching TV while cooking!   She won’t be with me long if she carries on like this.”
"He wants everything on the cheap"
Angela complains that she is trying to organise the wedding, but Eifion is not interested – he wants everything on the cheap.   Debbie insists if there is going to be a big party, she wants an invite.
The rugby players are about to leave
Ed and the rest of the rugby team go off for their practice session.
"Meilyr needs me at home"
Back at home, Sheryl insists, “Meilyr needs me at home, not in a hospital bed,”
"You must have the operation!"
and however much that Hywel reiterates that she needs this operation, she will not budge, but rather proposes undergoing it when Meilyr is two or three.
"I'm not going to make the same mistake again!"
“I turned my back on one child already – I’m not going to make the same mistake again!”
"I'd love to help, but . . ."
Gethin goes to Cysgod y Glyn, where he tells Kelly, “I’d love to help, but Daniel needs me for two weeks.   Kelly demands how she is supposed to cope alone, in addition to all the newspaper work she has to do.
“I was just helping you you out, but now I’ve more or less moved in – and when exactly did you help?” Kelly complains.
Ffion is glad to see him . . .
Ffion comes in and is glad to see him;  she hugs him,
. . . but is horrified by what he says
but when he informs her that he has to look after Daniel in Swansea for two weeks, her face falls.
Gethin says, “I hoped it wouldn’t be a problem, as you’ve turned the corner this week – and you have Kelly to help you.   He is my son, and I have a duty to him.”
"And now you don't need me!"
“I need you too,” insists Ffion, “And now you’ve got them, you don’t need me!   What use is it, you being available on the phone?   Please go!”
After he has left, Ffion starts the washing-up, but Kelly stops her;
Ffion will not let this spoil things
“We don’t need him – don’t let him spoil things for you!”   Ffion replies defiantly that he will not.
"You're being completely selfish!"
Hywel accuses Sheryl, “You’re being completely selfish!   What if something like this happens in the meantime?   I can’t live my life worrying that you might drop dead at any second!”
"Stop pushing me, Hywel!"
“Is that what this is all about?” she demands, “You won’t commit to me if you’re not sure I’ll be around?   Stop pushing me, Hywel!   I’m not letting you or anyone else tell me what to do.
"I'm saying no!"
“I’ve made my decision – I’m saying no!”
