5 October 2015

They are on their way to the café . . .
Anita and Gabriela intend to go to the café, but when they meet Diane;
. . . but after Diane ignores Anita . . .
she totally ignores Anita, and welcomes a call from Debbie across the road.
. . . and walks away, they head for the Deri instead
“Anything to avoid sharing the pavement with this liar!” she snarls.   Anita decides they will go to the Deri instead.
"Have you heard about the Bistro in Llanarthur?"
Debbie has heard from Gwyneth that the Bistro in Llanarthur has had a visit from the food inspectors;  “The kitchen was filthy, and they almost got closed down,” says Gwyneth.   Debbie is worried that the café may be next on the list, and wants Diane, with her connections on the council to make enquiries.
Diane is not very disposed to be helpful
Diane is unhelpful, not surprising with her recent preoccupations.
Ed's passenger has dozed off
Outside, Ed’s taxi arrives, carrying Debbie’s daughter, Vicky.
Gwyneth wants to do some advertising
As Gwyneth asks Debbie to display some leaflets for her, as business is a bit quiet, Vicky walks in, complete with her baby, much to her mother’s amazement.
Debbie meets her grandson
“Sometimes they come early,” explains Vicky, “Can you pay for the taxi?”
"Ooh, isn't he lovely?"
Gwyneth admires the baby, while Debbie looks flabbergasted.
Sheryl is planning again . . .
At Llwyncelyn, while Hywel tries to work, Sheryl is deliberating over the colour scheme of the nursery;  “Do you think grey is too cold?”
. . . and does not like being ignored
When Hywel ignores her, she emphasises, “The baby is due to arrive next week, and we haven’t decorated the nursery yet!”
"This is putting the cart before the horse"
Hywel insists that this is putting the cart before the horse, as they are not sure who will get the house;  “Gaynor won’t let us have it without a fight!” he warns.   As usual, Sheryl is adamant she wants to sort out the baby’s room, and also they need to select a name for him.
"What do you think of Gwendraeth?"
“What do you think of Gwendraeth?   It’s a Welsh name with local associations,” she says.   Hywel laughs, suggesting that everyone will call him Gwen,
"I just want to get on with my work"
and just wants to get on with his CwmFM work.   In a huff, Sheryl tells him,
"I'll get out of your way"
“I’ll get out of your way and give you some peace,” and leaves the house.
Arwen with Auntie Britt
In the Deri, Gwyneth tells Siôn about Debbie’s visitor, and also mentions the expected visit of the Food Standards Officer.   Britt, who is playing with Arwen, wonders if the Deri may be next.
"I don't want to stay there too long"
On the sofa, Anita tells Gabriela that she does not want to stay in Anglesey, although she admits it would be nice for Gabriela to spend some time there.
Megan deliberately ignores Anita
Then Megan comes in and greets Gabriela, while ignoring Anita, who remarks, I should go and live there – no-one talks to me here now.”
Nicholas Stark Collins
Debbie assures Vicky that she is happy to see her;  “Why didn’t Ryan tell me you had the baby?”   Vicky tells her a tale of how Ryan was unable to get Paternity leave.   Her son is quite large for a early baby, 7lb 2oz, and is called Nicholas Stark (apparently some reference to Game of Thrones).
One of the rejected calls
During this conversation, Vicky’s phone has rung twice, and she rejected the calls,
"I'll get Gwen to come in for a shift!"
but when Debbie goes back down to the café, a third call is answered, in English;
"I'm at my mum's"
“Yeah, what do you want?   I'm at my mum’s.   What?”
Sheryl goes to Gwyneth's for a chat
Sheryl has gone to see Gwyneth, and tells her about Vicky’s baby.   “I hope this one comes out all right,” she says, patting her huge bump, “I’ve got 101 things to do, and don’t know where to start, like choosing a colour for the nursery.   Hywel is happy for me to do what I like.”
A lime green bedroom?
Gwyneth recalls that Garry wanted to paint Gwern’s bedroom lime green;  “He helped too much – you know Garry likes to be in charge, but I can’t deny that he’s a good father to Gwern.”
Gwyneth tries to relax her
Gwyneth massages Sheryl’s shoulders, remarking that her neck feels tight.   “Are you sleeping comfortably?” she asks.
Sheryl replies, “As comfortably as I can be, sharing the bed with two other people,” and Gwyneth suggests she could kick one of them out for the time being.
"With this inspection coming up"
Seeing Arwen in the Deri, Ed enquires if Ffion is ill, and Siôn tells him of the stress at school.   “The timing’s unfortunate, with this inspection coming up,” says Ed, and he recalls that there was one soon after he and Angela started there.   Britt wants to pick his brains and drags him off to cast his eye over the kitchen.
Dai and Diane arrive at the Deri
Anita and Gabriela are still on the sofa,
"This one's near Gwalchmai"
with Gabriela looking at suitable B&B establishments near Gwalchmai, when Dai and Diane come in.
"Some people have no shame!"
Immediately Megan joins them and loudly says, “I couldn’t believe that Anita has been spreading such lies about you, and in public – she just wanted attention.   Some people have no shame!”
"Say it to my face!"
This is too much for Anita, who jumps up and demands, “If you’ve got something to say about me, say it to my face!”
So Megan does . . .
Megan complies with her instruction;  “I can’t understand what you were thinking, telling such lies about Dai – you could have ruined their marriage!”
. . . and gets more than she bargained for . . .
Anita is furious and reminds Megan, “You’re not whiter than white!   If I remember rightly, your infidelity ruined your marriage to Reg!”
. . . which shuts her up
As Megan has no answer to this, she remains speechless.
"We're having an inspection on Thursday"
Debbie has been speaking to someone at the council, and learns that an inspection is due on Thursday.
Debbie checks on employment rights
She has also been looking up the Employment Rights Act 1996 on her iPad, and when Vicky comes down for some food, tells her, “Every father has a legal right to two weeks Paternity Leave.”
"Is the ham in the fridge?"
Vicky tried to change the subject, but after Debbie demands what is going on,
"He kicked me out – OK?"
she finally admits, “We’re not together any more – he kicked me out, OK?   Happy now?   He’s not the father!”
She tells Debbie the details
Back upstairs she explains that Nicky is the result of a one-night-stand last Christmas.   “Ryan didn’t find out, and the other bloke was a mistake.   I didn’t want us to split up, but after Nicky arrived and I saw how Ryan adored him, I couldn’t keep lying.
"I didn't have anywhere else to go!"
He went ballistic!   He was phoning as he wants my stuff out of his flat.   I didn’t have anywhere else to go!”
Sheryl getting some baby practice
Sheryl comes visiting, brinning a gift for the baby, and Debbie asks her, “Do you want a bit of practice?”
Ed wants a coffee after all that advice
Ed has given Britt some helpful hints about the Deri kitchen;  then Hywel comes in to offer Anita some more hours at CwmFM.
Anita declines Hywel's offer
“I don’t think my voice on the radio would help your listening figures, and anyway I’m going away next week,” replies Anita.
Siôn seems very calm after his set-to with Garry on Friday
Siôn suggests to her a permanent memorial to Meic;  “We could set up a fund and use the money to help the community.  We could start with a raffle – Cwm Delhi have offered a meal for two as a prize.”
"I hope she doesn't come back!"
Dai and Diane are ready to leave, but Diane complains, “We shall have to walk past her now – it’s a good job she’s leaving next week – I hope she doesn’t come back!”
"No – don't like Meurig"
Sheryl is still suggesting names;  “What about Meurig?” and when Hywel turns up his nose, continues,
"What do you like?"
“What do you like?   You don’t like any of them!”
Hywel fetches a book, and finds a name;
"Meilyr Llywelyn!"
“How about Meilyr Llywelyn?”
At last something pleases her
To his amazement, Sheryl thinks it sounds lovely, and he goes off triumphantly to strip the wallpaper.
"Meilyr," she mutters
Sheryl looks at the scan on the fridge, then picks up her phone.
Dai and Diane enter the café to find Anita with baby Nicky, and give Vicky a card.
"That will pay for the taxi!"
When Debbie sees there is a banknote inside, she grabs it, saying, “That will pay for the taxi!”
Diane is still not in a forgiving mood
As they turn to go, Anita tells them she is glad they are still together;  “No thanks to you!” replies Diane.   Debbie demands if they are going to be friends again, and Anita says that she has apologised and asks what else she can do.
“Diane tells her bluntly, “Keep out of my way!” and leaves the café.
"I need to see you!"
Sheryl checks that Hywel is safely upstairs, closes the kitchen door and makes a phone call;  “Hiya!   It’s been a long time.   Listen, I need to see you!”
