“It’s a bit early to take him out – he’s not even a week old.”
![]() |
| "You can put your feet up" |
Hywel insists that he wants to spend some time with his son, and to give her a chance to put her feet up.
Mark is searching for his keys amid all the detritus littering his house;

| The Hallowe'en paraphernalia is in place |
Diane comes into the shop for a packet of mints, and comments that Gwyneth is doing a good job; “Didn’t you fancy a slot on the radio?” she asks Colin. He replies that his DJ-ing days are long gone.
When Anita comes in, Diane deliberately tells Colin, “Dai’s taking me for a meal.”

| "He must have the patience of a saint!" |
Anita comments, “He must have the patience of a saint!” and Diane walks out.
![]() |
| "Do you know what she did to me?" |
Then Anita tells Colin what she did, tipping off Nansi about the scattering of Meic’s ashes. Colin remarks that Meic and Nansi were together for a long time, but this does not go down well with Anita; “Don’t stick up for her! She did it out of spite, not respect for Meic.”

| "I bet all this bickering would upset him!" |
Colin observes, “I bet all this bickering would upset him!” and Anita immediately storms out of the shop.

When Diane arrives, she tells him that Anita has been winding her up again;
![]() |
| "Just seeing her gets my back up!" |
“Just seeing her gets my back up! All these arguments are starting to get to me.” Dai suggests they should stop arguing,
![]() |
| "After all that's been said?" |

![]() |

![]() |
| "There's stuff everywhere!" |
“There’s stuff everywhere and no room to move!” says Mark, “She reminds me of Debbie when she was younger, and I don’t want to be too harsh.”
Sheryl recommends that he should not let her take advantage of him, family or not.
![]() |
| "Show her who's boss!" |
“Show her who’s boss – like I did with Mam, or you’ll soon feel like a stranger in your own house.” As he leaves, she is worrying about the baby.
![]() |

As Vicky is passing the shop with her pram, she receives a call on her iPhone, but after looking at the number, rejects it.
![]() |
| "She's a bit paranoid" |
Siôn sees Hywel with the baby, and asks after Sheryl; “She’s a bit paranoid about Meilyr,” admits Hywel, but Siôn says that it is quite natural,

“I just want to make the most of being a father, and that’s awkward at my age,” Hywel comments.
![]() |
| "Diane misses you as a friend" |
Dai has not in fact gone to APD, but is talking to Anita; “It’s hard to believe, but Diane misses you as a friend,” he tells her, “These silly arguments are taking their toll.”
![]() |
| "She didn't seem like that earlier" |
Anita replies that it did not look like that in the shop earlier; Dai enquires, “And you didn’t say anything to ruffle her feathers?”
![]() |
| The photo album |
Anita looks rather sheepish, as she closes a photo album on the table.
![]() |
| "I think you feel exactly the same" |
Dai picks it up and looks at it; “I think you feel exactly the same as her, unless you’re going through these photos to get rid of them. Listen, Anita, we only walk this planet once, and life’s too short to waste it on stupid arguments.”
![]() |
| Colin has an idea |
Colin, home at number 7, turns on the radio, to find Gwyneth apologising that her guest is having difficulty finding the studio, and after a moment’s thought, he rushes out of the house.
![]() |
| "No, it's no good coming next week!" |
At CwmFM, the guest apparently has the date wrong and will not be coming. Colin arrives there and asks,
![]() |

Gwyneth is amazed at the mimicry; “You sound exactly like him!” and Colin says he saw him once at the Bull in Llanarthur.
![]() |
| "No-one will know" |

![]() |
| "Who's that with Gwyneth?" |
In the Deri, Siôn hears the radio programme, and asks, “Who’s that with Gwyneth?” Britt tells him that it is Tarw something.

![]() |
| "I want us to be friends again" |
Anita begins, “I want to apologise for everything – I want us to be friends again – what I did was wrong. I hurt you and Dai, but you and I go back such a long way, and I want to try to put this behind us.”
![]() |
| Diane grudgingly agrees . . . |
Diane also looks repentant and nods her approval.
Dai, rather unwisely, comments to Anita, “There, it’s all right – I told you.”
![]() |
| . . . but Dai puts his foot in it |
“You told her what?” demands Diane, “You’ve been talking about me on the sly! That’s how this all started – people keeping secrets!
![]() |
| "You're wasting your time!" |
“If it takes Dai to persuade you to come, you’re wasting your time!”
Anita gets up and tells Dai she does not know why she listened to him.

| "I was only trying to help!" |
Dai despairs; “I was only trying to help!”
![]() |

The same number calls her iPhone again, and again she rejects the call. Then Mark returns, turns off the TV and complains,
![]() |
| "This place looks like a tip!" |
“I asked you to tidy up – this place looks like a tip!”
There is a knock at the door, and the Health Visitor arrives,

![]() |
| "It's all right, Meilyr is safe and sound" |

![]() |
| Colin settles into the Tarw Du voice |
Colin’s alter ego tells Gwyneth, “I always liked doing gigs at The Bull, Llanarthur – there’s a good vibe there. Maybe I’ll be invited to the Deri one day!”
![]() |
| They reach the end of the programme |
Gwyneth winds up the programme with a reminder to listeners about the Art Competition.
![]() |
| "You should keep it nice and tidy" |
The Health Visitor points out that the place should be kept nice and tidy for Nicky’s sake, and as soon as she has gone, Mark lays down some rules.
![]() |
| "I want to make one thing crystal clear!" |
“I want to make one thing crystal clear – I’m not putting up with this mess any more, and I expect you to pay your way!”
Seeing Vicky’s penniless expression, he continues, “If you can’t afford to pay, you do your share of the chores – cleaning, shopping, preparing meals.” She protests that she cannot cook to save her life, so Mark suggests,
![]() |
| "You'll be looking for somewhere else to live!" |
“You’ll have to learn – and fast! Debbie’s daughter or not, if you don’t start pulling your weight, you’ll be looking for somewhere else to live! I mean it, every word!”

| "What are we going to do?" |
Vicky mutters to her baby, “What are we going to do?”

Diane answers, “If you hadn’t interfered, I’d be enjoying my lunch.
![]() |
| "I just can't forget what she did" |
“I knew you did it for me, but I can’t just forget what she did. I admit I miss her company, but I don’t know if I can trust her any more.”
![]() |
| They are asked, "Who was that fool on the radio?" |
When Gwyneth and Colin enter the Deri, Siôn asks, “Who was that fool on the radio earlier?” Britt replies that Tarw Du is very popular, and asks Colin what he thought, but he says he was not listening.
![]() |
| Britt has seen through this subterfuge |
“Oh, your headphones were too tight, were they?” remarks Britt, “I would recognise that laugh anywhere! Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone, but you’re playing a dangerous game, conning people like that!”
![]() |
| Meilyr seems inconsolable . . . |
Sheryl is trying to calm Meilyr, and predictably blames Hywel;
![]() |
| . . . and of course it is Hywel's fault |
“It was too soon to take him out. Did you take him out of the pram?” Hywel replies that he only pulled the blanket down so people could see him.
“That’s it – he’s got a chill!” she insists,
![]() |
| "You're being unreasonable" |
and when he accuses her of being unreasonable, she snarls,
![]() |
| "You haven't got a clue!" |

| It is that number again . . . |
after listening to it, she dials.
![]() |
| . . . now she knows who has been ringing |
“Hiya, it’s me – sorry, I thought it was Ryan – I’ve got a massive favour to ask you – I need cash, ASAP. Really? No, I won’t say a word. Thanks, you’re amazing!
