16 October 2015

"You're two hours late!"
Gethin turns up at the garage two hours late, which does not please Garry, who complains he was away earlier in the week too.
Dani is on her way to Sheryl's
Then Dani arrives with balloons, on her way to see Sheryl and the new baby;  “I can’t wait to see him – Meilyr is his name.”   Garry is much to busy to accompany her.
"Have you phoned the clinic?"
Dani enquires whether Gethin has contacted the clinic to see how Ffion is doing, but he says he did not want to disturb her.   Garry encourages Dani,
"He'll be at school before you get there!"
“You’d better go, or Eilyr or whatever you call him will be at school before you get there!”
Kelly commiserates with Gaynor
As they see Dani walking along the street with the balloons, Kelly comments to Gaynor, “It’s hard when your ex has a baby with someone else.   I was gutted when Dafydd did it to me, but don’t give them the satisfaction of seeing you’re upset.”   Gaynor insists that it does not bother her, as she has moved on.
Cadno does not like this talk of a "boyfriend"
When Eifion meets Cadno outside the shop, he comments, “How’s your boyfriend?”   Cadno replies that it was a mistake telling him, and that it is awkward with them living under the same roof.   “Are you afraid he’ll come into your room during the night?” says Eifion, “Talk to him and tell him how you feel.”
"It's only a small car"
Kelly goes to the garage, where she maintains, “It’s only a small car, so a service won’t take long.”   Garry complains that he is short-staffed, and books the car in next Thursday, but Kelly has to drive somewhere that day.
"You haven't seen her?"
Meanwhile Gethin phones the rehab clinic to asks about Ffion, but they tell him they have not seen her.   He informs Garry he is going out for five minutes;  “No, you’re not!” thunders Garry,
"I'm going to check the flat"
but Gethin explains that Ffion has not been near the clinic, so he is going to check the flat.
Kelly accompanies him.
"That 25% is a bit much!"
Sioned visits Eifion, still of the opinion that 25% of the profits is too much,
But she is keen to get her hands on the money
but Eifion tells her she can have half the money as soon as she has signed the contract, and he has contacted the bank.
They shake hands;  “Pleasure doing business with you,” he says, adding, “Now you can take me to the Deri to buy me a drink!”
No sign of Ffion . . .
Arriving at Cysgod y Glyn, they find no sign of Ffion,
. . . only some bottles
only empty and half-empty bottles;  her clothes are still there, but the car is gone.   Kelly urges Gethin to phone the police, but he is concerned about Ffion losing her job;
"It's better than losing her life!"
“It’s better than losing her life!” shouts Kelly, “It doesn’t take a genius to work out what could happen.   Ringing her friends is a waste of time – they would have phoned you if they knew anything.”
"Don't tell Angela"
At the Deri, Eifion asks Sioned for one favour;  “Don’t tell Angela anything just for now.   Some things she doesn’t need to know, until I’ve made a profit.”
"You've changed your mind"
DJ comes in to find Gemma has a drink waiting for him;  “I know why you want to meet me – you’ve changed your mind about curry tonight,” he says.   On the contrary, Gemma expects that he might want to change his mind after hearing what she has to say.
Gemma wants to be open and honest
“I see a doctor every week – a Mental Health Specialist, and I want to be honest,” she begins, and DJ assures her that he wants to hear what she has to say.
Garry is not interested in baby photos
Garry is far from enthusiastic when Dani tells him how gorgeous the baby is, but simply asks if the baby looks like his father.   Then Gethin and Kelly return,
"You won't have a job to come back to!"
and Garry invites Gethin to do some work.   When Gethin replies that he is taking the rest of the day off, Garry exclaims, “I don’t think so!   If you go now, you won’t have a job to come back to!”
Gethin will not involve the police
Again Kelly and Dani urge him to ring the police, but Gethin resolutely refuses.   Meanwhile Garry has a call on the garage phone;
Garry announces some news
“That was a woman in Swansea – Ffion’s car has been outside her house for several days.   The window was open, she found the logbook and rang here,” he tells them.
Kelly grabs the address, and she and Dani hurriedly leave.
"Can you finish that car now?"
“Can you finish that car now?” enquires Garry.
Gemma explains her diagnosis
Gemma explains, “I have Borderline Personality Disorder,” and DJ asks her what that means.   “I’m a bit different to everyone else,” she says, “I worry and obsess about things, I think too much about what other people are doing, and why they are doing it.”
"Can you get tablets for that?"
DJ asks if there are tablets for that, as half of Cwmderi could do with them.   Gemma is grateful for, “Not treating me like a person with two heads.”   He describes her as special, and is not cancelling anything, as he loves a curry.
Eifion and Sioned enjoy a cosy chat . . .
Angela comes into the Deri and finds Eifion and Sioned chatting and drinking together.
. . . but Angela wants to go to Carmarthen
She suggests going to Carmarthen for the evening,
Sioned buys her a drink
and Sioned buys her a Gin and Tonic.
They are on the point of giving up . . .
Dani and Kelly are walking along a Swansea street, and after finding no trace of Ffion, they are ready to go home,
. . . when Kelly stops in her tracks . . .
when Kelly suddenly stops,
. . . noticing a familiar figure
and points out what she can see through the railings.   Ffion is sitting in the gutter, with the ubiquitous bottle.   They rush down the steps.
"I don't want to go back"
She mumbles that she does not want to go back to Cwmderi, but Kelly tells her,
"You'll be dead by Christmas!"
“You can’t stay here!   If you keep drinking like this, you’ll be dead by Christmas!”
“If that’s what’s meant to happen . . .” Ffion replies, almost incoherently, “Leave me alone – I don’t want to go home!”
It takes a lot of exertion . . .
Dani and Kelly have to take one arm each, and drag her to her feet.
. . . to get Ffion on her way home
As they haul her up the steps, with considerable difficulty, she mumbles, “I could have you for kidnapping!”
"The stripy one or the plain one?"
DJ asks Cadno which jumper is best, a striped or plain one, as she has better taste than him.
"Stop flirting with me!"
“Stop flirting with me!” she replies, and amidst DJ’s protests, continues, “You took the blame for the gun, hoping I’d fall for you, but it won’t work!   Don’t walk away!”
Sioned tells Eifion that as Ed is working, she will have another drink and then take a taxi into town.
Eifion thinks this is a great idea, but is stopped by Angela;
"You're not going anywhere!"
“You’re not going anywhere!   The house is a mess because of you!’   He replies that he will tidy up tomorrow, and she moans, “That’s what you say every day!” then makes her way to the Ladies’.
"Be careful or you'll lose her!"
Sioned warns him, “Be careful or you’ll lose her.   The problem is your attitude - you don’t take her seriously.   Just buy another round when she comes back, to cheer her up.”
Idwal and Gaynor
Gaynor comes in, looking very smart, and is soon joined by a man by the name of Idwal;
The sad fate of Idwal the gerbil
“My daughter Lois had a gerbil called Idwal,” Gaynor tells him, “But it died – an accident with a vacuum cleaner.”
“Dangerous thing, vacuums!   I hope it had a fitting funeral,” answers Idwal,
"You look like a white wine woman"
“Sit down and I’ll get a bottle – you look like a white wine woman – we’ll start with Chablis.”
Kelly and Dani have almost reached journey's end
Dani and Kelly drag a semi-comatose Ffion from the car, and manhandle her into Cysgod y Glyn.
DJ returns from upstairs as Cadno asks, “Have you stopped sulking?”
"I wanted to apologise!"
He responds with, “Have you stopped saying stupid things?   I brought flowers as we’d argued, and I wanted to apologise – can’t someone do that any more?   I’m going on a date.”
Flat out on the bed
Ffion ends up sprawled face downwards on the bed.   “She’ll sleep until she wants another drink!” predicts Kelly.
Gethin blames himself
In the other room, Gethin is blaming himself for all that has happened;  “I should have phoned the clinic – I shouldn’t have gone away – my place was here!”   Dani points out that he cannot turn his back on Daniel just because Ffion cannot handle herself.
"Ffion's the only one who can sort this out!"
Kelly is more emphatic;  “Stop giving yourself a hard time!   Ffion’s the only one who can sort this out – unless she confesses she has a problem, there’s nothing we can do!”
Gaynor tells Idwal about herself
Gaynor tells Idwal her tale of woe about the divorce and the new baby, and he sympathises.
"I enjoy being with you"
DJ meets Gemma in the Deri, where he tells her, “I enjoy being with you, and I hope you enjoy being with me.   It’s not every day that I find a woman who likes me – and curry!”
Garry tells Britt his tale of woe
At the bar, Garry tells Britt about his day, with Geraint having a day off, and Gethin in and out all day.   “All he’s been doing today is trying to sort out that Ffion!”
"She hasn't been near any clinic!"
Britt thought she was at the rehab clinic, but he enlightens her;  “She hasn’t been near any clinic!”
Gaynor overhears this and enquires, “Oh why?   Where’s she been?”
Garry graphically illustrates Ffion's problem
Garry wordlessly demonstrates Ffion’s problem.
"I have to slip out for five minutes"
Gaynor immediately tells Idwal that she must pop out for five minutes, and tells him to keep the seat warm for her.   She gives him a kiss, and leaves;  he looks quite encouraged.
Ffion has regained consciousness
Ffion stirs and attempts to get out of bed;
"Don't wreck Gethin's life!"
“All you want is another drink!” snarls Kelly, “I don’t care what you do, but don’t wreck Gethin’s life!”
Ffion hears the door buzzer sound, and shouts, “Help!”   Dani lets Gaynor in, much to Gethin’s dismay;
"Where is she then?"
Gaynor demands, “Well, where is Ffion?   Garry told me about her!”   She hears Ffion’s voice demanding to be let out of the bedroom, and insists, “I want to see her!”
"She was hammered out of her skull!"
Kelly comes in, advising that she has locked Ffion in her room, and Gaynor points out that Ffion is supposed be be in rehab now.   Kelly, rather crudely tells her, “We found her in Swansea, hammered out of her skull!   There’s no point hiding the truth.”
"Getting the sack will be the least of her worries!"
With Ffion shouting in the background, Gaynor informs them that this was her last chance;  “I’ve given her too many chances – if she comes back to work while still drinking, getting the sack will be the least of her worries!”
Ffion, desperate and confused
