14 August 2015

They have not woken up yet
Debbie cooks breakfast for Mark and Ricky and calls them downstairs;  Mark asks if she has heard any more from the police, but she says, “Sit down, before it gets cold.”
"What's going on?"
Anita joins Diane outside an imposing building;  she asks, “What’s going on?   Kelly just shoved me into a taxi with this bag.”   Diane replies that it is a surprise day at the spa, and tells her she deserves a treat.
"How about Tenerife?"
Diane is brandishing some holiday brochures;  “And it also gives us a chance to go through these.   Now you’re not going to Patagonia, how does all-inclusive in Tenerife sound?”
In they go to the spa
Anita stresses that she still has not made up her mind whether to go and see Meic, and they go into the spa.
Colin, with toast in hand
At number 7, Colin, in a hurry to go to Gaynor’s, has just snatched Iolo’s toast, when Mark arrives;  he asks Wiliam,
"What are the police going to do?"
“What are the police going to do about Debbie’s trouble last night?” and explains to Wiliam, who was not at work then, that she had a break-in.
"I'll go and see her"
Wiliam agrees to go over and see her.
Looking at Estate Agent's brochures
Hywel and Sheryl come out of the Estate Agent’s with details of houses, but Sheryl makes it clear that they are either too far from the village, or have small gardens.
"Llwyncelyn is perfect!"
Hywel tells her they have to compromise, but she insists, “Not if we get Llwyncelyn – it’s perfect!”
"You expect me to kick Gaynor out?"
“You expect me to kick Gaynor out?” he says incredulously, and she replies, “If that’s what it takes!   This baby needs a home, and the solicitors are moving too slowly!”
"I've seen enough of Garry"
Siôn is brought a cup of tea by Britt, and turns down the chance of going to visit Garry.   “I’ve seen enough of Garry for one week,” he grumbles, “Life would be easier without this debt – in fact life would be easier if he’d . . .”
"Very Christian!"
This angers Britt;  “If he’d what?   Died?   Very Christian!   I’ve already lost one brother – and life’s not any easier, no matter how much trouble they are!   Don’t forget, you got us into this mess, not Garry!”
Wiliam calls about the break-in
Debbie is vacuuming when Wiliam calls;  “I can’t think about going back to the flat,” she tells him, and he enquires about the alleged visit of the police last night.
He questions Debbie . . .
“How did the intruders get in – through the café?   Gwen has opened up this morning – didn’t they tell you to stay closed in case there’s more evidence?   What about the locks – do they need changing?”
. . . and is suspicious
He offers Debbie his phone, so she can check on the progress of the case.
"I haven't reported it!"
She admits, “I haven’t reported it – but you knew that already!   I’m scared – what if there’s a gang of them?   What if they come after me or Ricky?”   Wiliam goes to make a cup of tea.
Colin is happy to help
Gaynor asks Colin, “Isn’t it pathetic of me, getting my ex-husband to help me move furniture? but Colin replies that she is the one he would contact if he wanted a woman’s opinion.
"I have to make a list of individual assets"
“The solicitor told me to make a list of individual assets;  I thought I would do it before Hywel tries to steal the best stuff,” she says.
Colin maintains it might be a chance to get rid of some rubbish,
"That's terribly ugly!"
“Things that are terribly ugly!” pointing out a picture on the wall, but Gaynor enlightens him that it was made by Izzy, so he feels rather foolish.
Anita's locket
Sitting by the pool, Anita shows Diane her locket and admits she looks at it every day, sometimes laughing, sometimes crying.   “I could see him again – it’s not too late!   I want to hold him again, I can’t let this opportunity pass.”
Anita is off for her treatment
As she goes off for her spa treatment, Diane ponders.
"Arsenic or machete?"
Britt asks sarcastically, “Do you want anything from the shop?   No arsenic or machete to kill my brother?”
"I've let everyone down"
Siôn laments that this debt is weighing heavily upon him;  he has let everyone down, and should never have put her through all this.   Britt assures him, “We’ll sort this out – there are ways to get round Garry;  he’s not as tough as he looks!”
Colin discovers that the little dog is missing from the Monopoly set,
"I've found the dog!"
but as Hywel and Sheryl come in, he shouts triumphantly, “I’ve found the dog!”
"We want to buy your share of the house"
Sheryl gets straight to the point;  “We want to buy your share of the house,” which shocks Colin, who is sent home by Gaynor.
"Gaynor doesn't look very worried"
She, however, seems unconcerned and suggests they discuss it over a cup of tea.
"I don't feel safe in the flat"
Debbie is still emphasising to Wiliam that she does not feel safe in the flat, and he advises that she should let the police help her.   When she refuses, he tells her,
"I have to report it"
“You haven’t got much choice – I have to report it, as it is against the law not to.   It’s my duty as a police officer.”
"I made the whole thing up!"
Debbie realises she must come clean;  “It didn’t happen – I made the whole thing up!   I’ve been so lonely since coming back from London;  I hate being in the flat on my own, and I’m happy here – they need me.   You think I’m a terrible person, don’t you?”
Wiliam tells her she has to be honest with Mark, as she does not want him to think she is taking advantage of him.   “If you’re lonely, come to the Deri with me for a pint,” he offers,
"You remind me of my Mam!"
“You remind me of my Mam!”
Debbie says, “Cheek!”
"I've been with Gaynor all morning"
In the Deri, Iolo sits with Colin, who tells him he has been with Gaynor all morning.   “You’re very close to her, aren’t you?” says Iolo, and Colin jokes, “I have to be – she knows too many of my secrets!”
Iolo beats around the bush . . .
Iolo continues, “I had this friend who always kept secrets about himself and it destroyed his life in the end.”
. . . confusing Colin . . .
This puzzles Colin, and he is even more surprised when Iolo produces the flowery scarf and adds,
. . . but eventually gets to the point
“I know!   I know that you like wearing women’s clothes.   There’s no need to be ashamed – just do what feels right for you.   Don’t let anyone stop you being yourself.”
"I don't wear women's clothes!"
Colin replies to him, “I appreciate your concern and support, but I don’t wear women’s clothes, not that there’s anything wrong with those who do, but they don’t suit my frame.   You’ve got a very vivid imagination, but if anything was worrying me, you’d be the first person I’d turn to.”
"I've been looking for this"
When Colin visits the toilet, Britt comes over and sees her scarf;  “I’ve been looking for this for days!   Where did you find it?”   Iolo mumbles about finding it outside and hurriedly leaves.
"A very generous offer"
Gaynor studies the papers which Hywel has produced;  “This is very thorough, and a very generous offer, but unfortunately I have to reject it, because I own the house, not you.   Hywel, did you remember that?   My solicitor says you’re welcome to try and get your paws on it, but you’ve no chance!”
"That's not what my solicitor says"
When Hywel insists that his solicitor says the opposite, Gaynor concludes they will have to go to court.   Sheryl pipes up, “We hoped it wouldn’t come to that,”
Hywel tries to keep the peace
and Gaynor tells her to shut up.
“I’ve been making the inventory, and what got to me was not the photos and furniture, but this house.
"I'm not giving it to you and her"
I’ve worked too hard to give it to you and her.”
Hywel looks displeased
As Hywel and Sheryl beat a retreat, Gaynor looks quite pleased with herself.
Anita listens to Diane . . .
Diane stresses to Anita that it could be very traumatic to see Meic in his present state, and that he might not look like the Meic she knew.
. . . but is becoming more determined . . .
Anita is not dissuaded;  “If you had one last chance to see Dai before he died, would you turn it down?   I know I might not get the welcome I want, but I can’t carry on thinking ‘what if?’   I’d rather go and regret it, than miss the opportunity.”
. . . and Diane agrees with her
Diane acquiesces;  “I understand – go as soon as you can.”
Debbie is about to leave . . .
Debbie is about to write a note to Mark when he returns with flowers, and upon being told that she is going back to the flat, he urges her,
. . . but Mark changes her mind
“We enjoy having you here!”   She changes her mind, but still does not reveal the truth.
Iolo jumps to conclusion number 2
When Wiliam gets back to number 7, Iolo announces, “Colin doesn’t wear women’s clothes, but he is having an affair with Britt!   It was her scarf, and must be her dressing gown too.   How can she do this to us?”
However, Wiliam is unconvinced
Wiliam is somewhat surprised by this.
"I'm not doing this any more!"
Diane marches into Mark’s house and tells him, “I’m not doing this any more – I’m not stopping Anita.   She’s my friend, and she’s leaving on Monday.   I’ve done what I should have done days ago!”
"You've ruined Anita's memories of Meic
Mark is insistent that she should not go, and remembers watching Sharon dying.   “You’ve ruined Anita’s memories of Meic for ever now – I hope you’re proud of yourself!”
Has Diane made the right decision?
This causes Diane to think.
