13 August 2015

"Did Colin bring your jacket over?"
Iolo calls at the café for a black coffee and asks Debbie, “You left your jacket by the bar at the Deri – has Colin brought it over?”   She replies that he has not, and she does not want to see him.
Debbie's expansion plans
She then explains her exciting plan for expanding the business, with a new menu and late opening;  she is sure she can give Iolo and Wiliam a table with a candle.
Garry does not look quite himself
Garry is sitting silently on the sofa, and refuses Dani’s offer to reheat the Indian from last night.
"You're keeping things from me"
Dani says, “You didn’t eat a thing last night.   I want to help you get better, but I can’t if you keep things from me.”
"Well, you're keeping things from me"
Garry’s reply is, “Have you heard from the Health and Safety today?   You shouldn’t hide things from me!   It’s my business.”
She tells him that the investigation could take two weeks, but the garage can reopen in the meantime;
"I'd better think up an excuse"
Garry replies, “I’d better think up an excuse why I was under the car.   I want the garage open tomorrow – I’m not paying Gethin to do nothing.   You get ready – we’re going out.   Garry Monk is going to prove to everyone that he’s OK!”
"How about Gnocchi for dinner?"
Ffion asks Gethin if he fancies Gnocchi for dinner, and he tells her he will have to go back to work tomorrow.
"Garry blames me for the accident"
“Garry blames me for the accident – if I were there he wouldn’t have been working on the car.   Don’t be afraid of being on your own.    You’ve been very brave – you deserve to go out and enjoy yourself.”
Gethin hands back the purse
As he hands back her purse, he assures her,
"You can do this – I know you can"
“You can do this – I know you can.   If you get tempted, phone me, and I’ll come straightaway.”
Not the normal ironing pose
Colin, wearing only his pants and socks, is ironing a shirt while singing, “Aberystwyth in the rain.”
He has yet to put on his trousers
When Iolo comes home, Colin is apologetic for his attire, but has to dash to his shift at the shop.
Dani tells Gethin that Garry is not a good patient;  “He insists everything is OK, as if nothing happened,” she tells him.
Gethin is given his orders . . .
Then Garry comes in, demanding that Gethin go to the garage now, so that it will be ready for opening at eight tomorrow morning.
. . . and Dani is told to go to the garage
He also wants Dani to go with him, in order to check on the Health and Safety investigation.
"I want you to move the gun to the Deri"
Siôn has been summoned, and Garry instructs him, “I want you to move the gun to the Deri.   A friend of mine wants to use it tonight.”
"Play tiddlywinks – what do you think?"
Siôn nervously asks what he is going to do with it.   “Play tiddlywinks – what do you think?” is Garry’s answer.
"I can't be part of this!"
Despite Siôn’s insistence that he cannot be part of this, Garry stipulates,
"You don't have much choice!"
“Simon will be over at six.   You don’t have much choice, unless you’ve got £15,000 for me.   I want that gun ready at six!”
Garry clutches his chest
When Siôn has left, Garry gets that feeling again;  “No – not again!” he mutters.
Debbie tries the hard-sell on Ffion
Debbie accosts Ffion in the shop about the café’s new evening menu, and is upset that Ffion is not able to come;  Colin accuses her of hassling his customers.
Colin is going somewhere else
Debbie tells him she will forgive him if he comes to the café tonight, but he is otherwise engaged, and she stalks off.
"Hang on – I've got your jacket!"
Colin shouts after her, “Hang on – I’ve got your jacket!” but it is too late.
"Gnocchi for dinner tonight!"
Then Colin resumes serving Ffion, who tells him she is cooking Gnocchi tonight,
"Er . . . what's Gnocchi?"
but Colin admits he has no idea what that is.
Ffion resists the bottles over there
She looks at the bottles of alcohol on the shelf, but successfully resists the temptation. and pays for her shopping.
Dani is horrified to find Garry fighting for breath
Gethin and Dani return from the garage to find Garry sitting on the floor, muttering, “No, don’t!   No, not the hospital!”
"Ambulance, please!"
Gethin phones for an ambulance, as Garry trembles and breathes rapidly.
Even a 30% discount does not sway Gwynfor
Outside the café, Debbie is trying to persuade Gwynfor to dine there, offering a 30% discount, but he gruffly responds, “Some other time.”
Sion is somewhat preoccupied
Then Siôn passes by, apparently hiding something under his jacket, and ignores Debbie, so she shouts after him, “Stuff you, you snob!”
"I've got no customers for tonight!"
and reports to Mark that she will have no customers tonight.
She asks if he has talked to Ricky yet, then adds, “No, you’re much too busy, aren’t you?”   Mark is conviced something happened while she was in London, but she tells him, “You’re not my friend, you made that obvious.   I don’t care any more!   I don’t need you or anyone else in this hole!”
Siôn is greatly troubled . . .
Siôn sits disconsolately at the foot of the Deri stairs,
. . . wondering about that gun
looking at the hollowed-out book containing the gun.
The ambulance crew reach Garry . . .
When the ambulance crew arrive, Garry does not want to see them or talk to them,
. . . but Dani has to tell them what is going on
so Dani explains, “He is sweating and shaking, and can’t breathe properly.   He only left hospital yesterday – he discharged himself – after a serious accident when a gearbox fell on him.   I think it was traumatic asphyxia.
"It appears to be a panic attack"
The paramedic suspects that he is suffering a panic attack, which is natural in the circumstances.
"I don't panic about anything!"
Garry’s response is, “I don’t panic about anything!”
Iolo hears a phone’s text tone inside a black bag on the chair,
Iolo finds an apparently feminine robe
so opens it to find a fluffy pink robe inside.   Then Colin returns, telling him that Debbie’s plans have not worked out and the café is already closed.
"Byron is setting up a band"
Upon questioning, Colin reveals that he is off to see his friend Byron, who is starting a band, and wanted to see what he and Mark wear on stage.
Off goes Colin . . .
He picks up the bag and leaves, singing merrily.
. . . and Iolo thinks Wiliam may have been right
Iolo looks puzzled, and phones Wiliam, telling him, “I think you’re right about Colin!”
Siôn is becoming more and more anxious;  when Chester arrives, saying that Britt has forgotten her keys,
Chester's interest in the book . . .
he attempts to pick up the book,
. . . brings an emphatic rebuke
but Siôn snaps, “Don’t touch it!”
The paramedic wants to take Garry to the hospital, “To make sure,” but he is adamant he will not go,
Garry signs a declaration
and is asked to sign a declaration to that effect.   He emphasises that this will not happen again,
"Don't breathe a word of this to anyone!"
and then solemnly orders Dani and Gethin not to breathe a word of it to anyone
“I want you in the garage at seven tomorrow,”he tells Gethin, “And don’t think you’re getting paid for the last few days!”
Debbie's loneliness causes her to begin a deception
Debbie, feeling sorry for herself, hatches a plan;  she phones Mark,
"I hope you're phoning to apologise!"
who replies, “I hope you’re phoning to apologise!” and then when she is silent, he asks, “Hello, Debs, are you OK?”
"Someone has broken into the flat!"
She tells him that someone has broken into the flat and that she is scared.
So she makes it look as it someone has
As he hurries there, she sets about wrecking the flat, throwing CDs and books across the floor.
"I had to call an ambulance for Garry"
When Gethin gets back to Ffion’s, he tells her he had to call an ambulance for Garry;  “I thought he was having a heart attack, but it was a panic attack.”
"Garry Monk, of all people!"
Ffion is surprised;  “Garry Monk, of all people, losing control!   He’s always the first to laugh when things go wrong for others.”
"I managed not to!"
Then she confesses to Gethin, “I went to the shop, intending to buy vodka, but managed not to!   I couldn’t have done it without you, and I still need your support!”
The first step of a long process
Gethin confirms that he is there for her every step of the way.
"It was like this when I came up"
Debbie tells Mark that when she came upstairs, the flat was like that;  he suggests ringing the police, but she says they have already been.
"Can I stay with you tonight?"
Then she pleads, “Can I stay with you tonight?   I don’t want to be alone.”   Mark assures her she is always welcome at Maes-y-Deri.
"Your friend didn't turn up!"
Siôn goes to complain to Garry that his friend did not turn up;  “That’s very odd,” replies Garry.   Siôn moans that Chester almost got hold of the gun, but Garry reminds him that was his fault – he was in possession of the gun.
"You're toying with me!"
Siôn comes to the realisation that Simon was never coming and that Garry is simply toying with him;  “Now this is affecting my family!” he stresses.
“Your job is to make sure it doesn’t,” Garry rebukes him,
"I'm tired and going in the bath"
and then when Dani returns, says he is tired and will continue this conversation another time.
"Garry is back to his old self!"
When he has gone for a bath, Siôn tells Dani that he is back to his old self already.

"No, he had a panic attack"
Dani disagrees, saying that he had a panic attack earlier, with sweating and difficulty breathing.
Is Siôn plotting something?
Upon hearing this, a look of slight relief crosses Siôn’s face.
