23 February 2015

"Good job I'm not on a diet!" says Dai
Dai is stuffing himself with croissants and jam when the post arrives, including a letter, allegedly from a Caroline Ashurst;
Diane reads out the letter
“She lives in Llanarthur, and says she is married to you,” says Diane.   Dai is furious;  “You’re joking!” he shouts,
"You're more stupid than I thought!"
“If you believe this rubbish you’re more stupid than I thought!” but Diane grabs the letter from him and leaves the house.
Ffion is dismayed to find the software package
A parcel has arrived for Jinx, and Ffion opens it;  “I knew it!   I thought we’d decided we weren’t going to buy this!”   When Jinx tells her that Taid has loaned him the money, she is disgusted;
"You asked Taid?"
“You asked him? – he’s penniless – you should be ashamed!”   Jinx insists he will pay back the money when the business is on its feet, but Ffion describes him as, “Naïve!”
"Have a good weekend" asks Garry
Sioned sees Garry in the street and tells him she was waiting all weekend for the police to turn up;
"Sioned, where are the taxis?"
then John Post asks her where the taxis are, as he cannot find them.   She immediately suspects Garry, but then Debbie moans that the Deri Deithio phone has not stopped, and is annoying her customers.
Sioned has a very short fuse
“You’re lucky I haven’t cut the cable!” says Debbie.   Sioned angrily replies, “I’ll cut your tongue if you don’t get out of my way!”
"Utter nonsense!" comments Meic
Diane goes to number 10 and shows Anita the letter;  “It says they’ve been married for years,” but Meic calls it, “Utter nonsense!   When does Dai have time to see this ‘wife’?   Dai would never do something like this.”
"Well, she's not in the phone book"
Diane remembers the business with Shirley, the Christmas before last, and cannot find Caroline Ashurst in the phone directory.   “I’ll have to talk to her, face to face,” she concludes, and leaves with Anita.
Jinx is very grateful to Kelly
Jinx shows off his software to Kelly and is amazed what he can do with it.   “Arwen will be a whizz-kid on it in no time!” remarks Kelly, and advises him to tell Ffion he is doing it for her and Arwen.   “She’d blow a fuse if she knew where the money came from,” he says,
"She won't find out"
but Kelly assures him that she will not find out.
"That Orient Express is really glamorous!"
In the café, Debbie tells Meic that the Orient Express is really glamorous, and he will be having an eight-course meal on board.   They will be leaving tomorrow morning.   Then Meic joins Dai, and comments, “I hear divorce is on the cards if you’re not careful!
"I'm too busy to bother with you!"
Gemma looks for Ed, but receives short shrift from Sioned in the taxi office.
Gemma has had her revenge on Dai and Diane
Then Gemma sits, looking smug, and listens to Dai, as she crosses out Dai’s and Diane’s names in her book.
"If I catch them, I'll . . ."
Dai rants about what he will do to whoever is responsible, but Meic tells him to look at the letter, which states that this Caroline married him on 25 June 2005.
Meic advises that Dai should do some research
“Do you have a diary for that year?” asks Meic, then Dai remembers that was the summer he was in New Zealand, following the Lions’ tour.   Meic advises him to dig out the match programme as proof he was on the other side of the world.   At this, Gemma’s face falls.
"Are you looking for something that's gone missing?"
Garry appears in the Deri flat, and taunts Sioned;  “I believe you’re looking for something that has gone missing?   Before you get the taxis back, tell me how you could afford to buy Deri Deithio.”
"You don't know where it went"
Sioned responds, “It’s none of your business;  you’re a fool, losing thousands, and not knowing where it went!”
"I know exactly where it went!"
“I know exactly where it went!   You bought Deri Deithio – just have the guts to admit it!”   Sioned then confirms that she found the bag, but insists that they need the money.
“I don’t care how skint you are – I want the remaining £7,000 today, or I’ll take the taxi business as well!”
Anita returns from the wild goose chase
Anita returns to Meic, telling him that Diane feels rather stupid after finding that the address in Llanarthur does not exist, and no-one has heard of this Caroline.   Meic asks if she has packed, ready for tomorrow, but Anita does not seem keen to go.
Jinx is immersed in his new toy
Ffion returns home as she has a free lesson,
One of his first productions
and Jinx gives her a card he has just produced, with the single word, “Sorry” inside.   “It’s my fault, I don’t want us to argue – I’m an idiot!”
“I’m glad we agree,” is Ffion’s reply, “At least you’re an honest idiot!”   She thinks he will not be able to cope with work at CwmFM, looking after two children and the Graphics Business, but tells him,
"Make us millionaires!"
“Prove me wrong, and make us millionaires!”
Anita intends to call it off
In the Deri, Anita is doubtful about the Orient Express trip, but Kelly tries to encourage her to continue with it for Meic’s sake.   Anita confesses, “It’s difficult to be excited about the last trip you’ll ever take with the person you love.   What if he’s not strong enough?   I don’t think it’s a good idea, and I’m going home to tell him.”
Dai tells Diane about New Zealand, while Gemma listens
Dai finds Diane in the café, and tells her all about his alibi in New Zealand, but she leans forward and kisses him;
"I feel awful," confesses Diane
“Shut up!   I’m sorry I doubted you, and I feel awful.   How could I be so stupid?   You can barely keep one wife happy, let alone two!”
Gwyneth is watching
Gwyneth, at the counter, watches
Two names rejoin the list
as Gemma reinstates the names Dai and Diane in her book.
“Who have you upset recently?” asks Dai, “We need to find that person and report them for slander and defamation!” but Diane just wants to forget the whole thing.
Anita sees that Meic is prepared for his big trip
When Anita returns home, Meic is asleep on the sofa, his best suit on the back of the chair;  she goes upstairs.
Sioned hands back his phone
Sioned returns Garry’s phone, which he left in the flat, to the garage.
“I’m surprised you didn’t keep it – that’s what you usually do!” he comments.   Sioned tells him there is none of the money left.
"I don't know how much patience I've got left"
“So you’ve spent £17,000 of my money.   I don’t know how much patience I’ve got left – you’d better think of how to get my money back!”
“Or what?” demands Sioned, “Give me the taxis back, and I’ll repay you in instalments.”
“I don’t trust you as far as I could throw you,” Garry tells her, “If I don’t get the money, there’s only one option.   Light a match and burn the taxis!”
"That will kill two birds with one stone!"
Sioned answers, “That will kill two birds with one stone – the insurance money will buy me new taxis, and you’ll get sent to prison!”
She surreptitiously helps herself to the keys
As she struts out of the door, she snaffles a bunch of keys lying nearby.
Meic is coughing as Anita comes downstairs in her wedding dress;
"Are you looking forward to tomorrow?"
“Are you looking forward to tomorrow?” he asks, “Or have you changed your mind?”
"We'll have a day to remember!"
Anita assures him, “We’ll have a day to remember!”

20 February 2015

"I was worried sick about you!"
When Meic comes downstairs, Anita gives him the silent treatment, until she complains, “I was worried sick about you last night!   Where did you go?”
"What?   £5,000?"
When Meic tells her of the casino, and losing half of the Deri Deithio money there, he stresses, “ I wanted to throw caution to the winds and do silly things!”
"Couldn't you think of anything better to do with the money?"
She asks him if he could not have done something better with the money, and he answers,
"You won't let me go to the Seychelles!"
“I fancied going to the Seychelles, but all the excitement you’ll allow me is a day out at the Botanic Gardens!”
"He may not want to see me again"
In the salon, Dani asks if she is seeing Hywel this weekend, but Sheryl is doubtful;  “He may not want to see me again – things have changed.”
Sheryl tells Dani – in confidence!
Swearing Dani to secrecy, she adds, “I’m pregnant, and Hywel was angry, accusing me of doing it deliberately.   I’m waiting to see what he wants to do.”
"You must do what's right for you!"
Dani insists that what Sheryl wants to do is the important thing, but Sheryl says that this baby “feels right”, and that Hywel has always wanted another child.   Before Dani can question her further, Madge comes into the salon.
"Repairing that Focus will cost more than it's worth"
As they are talking about repairs to a Ford Focus,
Hello, what is that, being carried by Ed?
Gethin notices Ed leaving the Deri, carrying a bag identical to the one containing the money.
Garry is on the warpath
Garry follows him, meeting Meic on the way.
Yes, it is quite a distinctive bag
Ed goes into the shop, asking Eileen if he can use her washing machine, as theirs “is kaput”.
Chester half-inches some chocolate
Chester and two of his mates are in the shop, and as Eileen’s back is turned, he pockets a chocolate bar;  she demands he gives it back,
Garry is in a hurry to get hold of Ed
but when Garry enters, looking for Ed, Chester grabs some more, and runs off.
"Where did you get that bag?"
Upstairs, Garry bursts in and demands, “Where did you get that bag?”   When he repeats the question, Ed says he found it in the wardrobe.   “Where is the £17,000 that was in it?   I know that Deri Deithio cost you £10,000, so I’m coming over tonight for the other £7,000!”
The Auntie Muriel tale gets embroidered
Ed repeats the Auntie Muriel fable, adding that she is buried at St Mary’s Church in Exeter.   “OK, lets go to Exeter, and you can show me where she’s buried!” says Garry,
"See you tonight!"
“Or you can hand over the money – see you tonight!”
Sheryl has not heard from Hywel
Sheryl tells Dani, in the Deri, that she thought she would have heard from Hywel by now.   “I want to be like everyone else, to be with the person I love and have a family,” she says, but Dani reminds her that Hywel already has a family.
"But I'm carrying his baby!"
“But I’m carrying his baby, which is more than he has with Gaynor, and he wants another child,” replies Sheryl.
"You did this on purpose, didn't you?"
“You did this on purpose, didn’t you?” demands Dani, and when Sheryl nods, Dani adds, “What if Hywel doesn’t want the same thing as you?”
Sheryl feels confident;  “I think he will – he just needs time to get used to the idea, that’s all.”
Eileen reports Chester's pilfering
When Eileen tells Siôn of Chester’s exploit, he assures her that he will deal with it.
Gaynor looks depressed
Colin sees Gaynor looking morosely at the Estate Agent’s window, and invites her to number 7 for a cup of tea.   There she admits to him that Hywel is having an affair with Sheryl
"We're not giving the money back!"
Sioned is insistent that they are not giving back that money, even though Ed warns her that they ought to compromise.   “We don’t want Garry Monk on our back for years!” he tells her but she is adamant.
"It's obviously dodgy money"
“That money is obviously dodgy, and he doesn’t want anyone to know!   We’re in a strong position, and he’s not getting the better of us!”
"I know who took it . . ."
Downstairs in the bar, Garry tells Gethin that he knows who took the money, and that they have spent £10,000 already.
". . . but that doesn't mean you're off the hook"
He also assures Gethin that this discovery does not let him off the hook.
Meic toys with his pile of sandwiches
Anita gives Meic sandwiches for his lunch and apologises for criticising what he did with his own money.
"I want you to treat me like a normal person"
Meic replies, “I want you to be angry when I do something stupid – I want you to treat me like a normal person, not a piece of porcelain.”
"But I'm trying to keep you going"
Anita tells him that she is trying to keep him strong and healthy so that he is here longer.
"I want to live before I have to go!"
“By keeping me in the house, drinking tea and eating sandwiches?   I don’t want that – I want to live before I have to go!   I want us to laugh about the silly things I do – and I certainly don’t want to lie in that bed, with you standing beside me, crying all the time!   I want to create new memories;  if we can’t do that, this set-up is not working – one of us will have to move out.”
"I'm not going to play the hysterical wife
Colin cannot believe that Gaynor has not told Hywel she knows about the affair, but she insists she is not going to “play the hysterical wife”.   “By keeping quiet, I’ll put the responsibility on Hywel’s shoulders, I’ll give him as much rope as he wants.   I’m not going to let some two-bit hairdresser ruin things for me!”
Sheryl is becoming worried her plan has failed
Meanwhile the “two-bit hairdresser” has returned, disappointed, to her flat, and leaves a message for Hywel to call her back.
Anita tells Diane all about it
Anita hurries round to Bryntirion and tells her troubles to Diane, who is comparing the fat and sugar content of various items in her cupboard.
"I only want to look after Meic"
Anita says that she only wants to look after Meic, but Diane warns her that he does not want her behaving like Florence Nightingale.
"Let him live his life the way he wants"
“You have to let him live his life the way he wants – you have no choice!”
Chester is confronted about his theft
Siôn and Britt confront Chester;  Britt is inclined to take Chester’s side until he admits, “It was only a chocolate bar!” and blames Siôn for making these rules about no crisps and sweets.
"Get your coat – now!"
Britt orders Chester to get his coat;  “We’re going to Eileen’s, for you to apologise!”   Chester’s closing shot to Siôn is, “I bet you’ve never done anything wrong!”
"You can book it up, while I have a bath"
Anita brings home a brochure for the Orient Express;  “My treat!” she says, “Now I’m going to have a bath.   Can you cook dinner?”
Meic thinks he has got through to Anita
Meic smiles.
"I'm sorry for taking the chocolate"
When they arrive at Eileen’s, Chester grudgingly says he is sorry and proffers payment for the chocolate.
Eileen is not pleased at being told off by Britt
Eileen is willing to forget the matter,  but Britt complains that she reported it to Siôn, rather than to her, his mother.
"Right, where's my money?"
Garry marches into the Deri flat;  “Where’s my money?” he demands.   Sioned tells him, “We don’t have your money – Auntie Muriel died . . .”
“Yes, the famous Auntie Muriel!” snarls Garry, “I’d better go and fill the tank – we’ve got a long journey to Exeter ahead of us!”
Sioned stands up to the big bad Garry
Sioned stands up to him;  “You’ve no right, accusing us of stealing your money.   You were stupid and lost it – if you don’t get out I’m calling the police!”

"Police, please!"
Garry grabs the phone from her and dials;  “Police, please,” he says,
Sioned certainly looks slightly worried
as Ed and Sioned look on, apprehensively.
