24 April 2015

"Can you take the bins out, please?"
Just as Angela asks Eifion to take out the bins and the recycling, she receives a text from Debbie, wanting her to go over;  she complains,
"Debbie's been behaving like a teenager!"
“Since I told her not to worry about ageing, she’s been behaving like a teenager!   It’s like having another Courtney!   Why can’t she find someone nice?”
Heartbroken DJ
In the café, DJ is looking very dejected;  Gethin explains that he has had his heart broken by a woman – again;  this time it was on the dating website “Ti a Fi”.
"I've not heard anything"
DJ says, “We got on well, but I’ve not heard anything.”   Gethin thinks that she probably sobered up.
As Angela approaches the café with Eifion, she remarks, “Look how she’s dressing!”
"Fancy coming to the Ladies' Night?"
When they get inside, Debbie tells Angela that it is Ladies’ Night at the new club in town, but Eifion comments, “Ladies?   They’ll never let you two in!   There’s a party at the Deri tonight for Megan’s daughter from Australia,” but Angela tells him she does not want to be responsible for carrying Debbie home from the Deri.
Ows is hard at work, aided by Gwynfor, while Megan watches
Above the door of the Deri, Ows is putting up a banner, “Welcome back Rhian”, while Gwynfor holds the ladder.   When Gwyneth says to Megan that she must be excited, Megan regrets all the fuss that has been made.
Gemma produces an 'over the top' cake
Then Gemma turns up with an extravagant cake from the bakery in Llanarthur, and presents Megan with the rather large bill.   Gwyneth is reluctant to talk to Gemma.
DJ has become less strict about his diet
In the café, Debbie gives DJ a doughnut, to cheer him up, and advises, “Once your heart is broken, you should get back on your bike!   Now, Megan’s daughter is your type.”
Ricky does not want to work in the café on his birthday
Debbie pins a badge on birthday boy Ricky, then Courtney comes in and sits with Eifion.
Rhys is going to town to the gym
When Rhys arrives with the APD order, he tells Eifion that he is going to the gym tonight,
"Can you give me a lift?"
so Courtney asks if he can take her to town, to buy Eileen a birthday present.   He agrees and will pick her up at six.
"Fancy Rhys? — don't be silly!"
When he has gone, Eifion remarks, “I thought he wasn’t your type,” and Courtney denies that she fancies him;  “Why was your tongue hanging out when you were talking to him?” asks Eifion.   She begs him not to tell her mother, and he agrees to bring her home from town later.
Gemma interrogates Gwyneth
When Gwyneth arrives home, Gemma demands to know where she has been;  “To take Gwern to Y Felin, if it’s anything to do with you,” is the reply.
"You've got to come – I organised it!"
Gemma urges her to come to the party tonight;  “I organised it!”
Gwyneth enquires why she organised it;  “I wanted to help Megan welcome her daughter – I love reunions!”   Gwyneth will not commit herself to attending.
Ricky apparently not enamoured with his presents
In the café, Debbie gives Ricky his presents, by which he appears somewhat underwhelmed,
He is rather more pleased with this one . . .
then Courtney brings one, and apologises that she will not be able to go out with him tonight, as she has to go shopping with Eileen to buy her a birthday present.   “We can go out another time – I don’t want to spoil your birthday,” she says,
. . . but soon realises that Courtney does not feel the same as he does
which does not cheer Ricky one bit.
"This would suit Debbie"
Angela feels responsible for Debbie acting in such a childish manner, and is going to suggest that Debbie wear a blue dress of hers to the party at the Deri.
Angela persuades her the blue dress is more suitable
Soon after, Debbie visits and shows off the dress she has just bought – red, with a lace top – but Angela maintains it is “too dressy” for the Deri, and produces her blue one.   Debbie seems convinced and takes the dress away, very gratefully, which pleases Angela.
Eifion has a word about Courtney
As soon as Angela goes upstairs for a shower, Eifion dashes out to APD, where he has a word with Rhys about Courtney;  “This buying a gift is only an excuse to spend time with you.”   When Rhys confirms that he is not interested in Courtney in that way, Eifion adds,
"She's at a sensitive age"
“Let her down gently – she’s at a sensitive age, and I don’t want her getting hurt.”
DJ in his "Sheila-attracting" gear
Gwyneth is surprised at DJ’s attire when she enters the Deri;  “I don’t get much chance to wear this – if there’s a blonde coming from Australia, I want to get her attention!” explains DJ.   Gethin is sceptical;  “You think you’re in with a chance, then?”
What has she done with the blue dress?
Angela is horrified at what Debbie has done with the dress;  “I thought it needed updating,” Debbie tells her.   Gethin asks Megan when the guest of honour is arriving,
Megan makes her announcement
and Megan breaks the news, “Rhian has had to change her plans, and has caught an earlier flight back.”
Megan is understandably keen to get away
As Megan is eager to get away from there, Gemma tells her, “We understand, Megan.”
Ricky is not having a Happy Birthday
Ricky passes Rhys at the cash machine and complains, “Happy birthday – stuck in the café, my best friend can’t come out, and my lift is late!”
"No, I'm outside the café!"
Then he has a phone call;  “No, I’m not outside dad’s, I’m outside the café!”
Courtney is satisfied with how her plan has gone . . .
Rhys finds Courtney waiting by his car, and asks her, “Hasn’t Eifion spoken to you?”
“No,” she replies, “Can’t he come and fetch me?   So you can bring me home too?”   He grudgingly agrees, and as she finds the seatbelt stiff,
. . . while Ricky watches, helplessly
he leans over to help her, while Ricky watches jealously from across the street.
In the Deri, Gemma tells Gwyneth, “I can’t believe she didn’t come, and after I organised everything.”   Ows gives Megan’s bill to Gwyneth, who agrees to deliver it.
"I wouldn't go anywhere with you, dressed like that!"
When Debbie talks of going on to a club, Gethin says, “I wouldn’t go to any club with you dressed like that!   These places have dress codes;  unless it’s ‘Grab a Granny night’ – you’re too old to dress like that!”
Debbie takes offence at Angela's words
Angela tells her that the blue dress was more appropriate for her age, and Debbie snaps at her, “At least I don’t look as if I’m selling insurance!”   DJ volunteers to go to town with her;  “Only if you take off that stupid hat – and let me wear it!” she insists.
Megan reveals the truth to Gwyneth
Gwyneth goes to see Megan in the shop, where Megan reveals that she did not ring Rhian.   “She was always her father’s daughter, and I knew she wouldn’t come.”
"It was embarrassing for you, wasn't it?"
Then Gemma joins them;  “It was a bit embarrassing for you, wasn’t it?” she gloats, and tells Gwyneth they should go;  “Megan needs time alone to get over it.”
"You knew that Rhian would not be coming!"
Outside, when Gwyneth accuses her of knowing Rhian was not coming,  Gemma points out to her,
"She deserved it!"
“There’s no need to feel sorry for her, after what happened in Maenan shop!   She deserved it, as she made cruel remarks about my mother.   She’s too ready to judge other people, with no regard for their feelings.   She’s trying to come between us – she’d better not or...
"Don't start threatening again – or you'll be out!"
“Or what?” demands Gwyneth, “She’s done nothing to you!   Don’t start threatening people again – or you’ll be out!
No prizes for guessing who is next on Gemma's hitlist
“Understand?”

23 April 2015

Garry asks Sioned if she is all right . . .
Garry picks himself up and checks on Sioned;  Ed is frantic about Sioned,
. . . before hurriedly getting her out of sight in the car
but Garry takes control, getting Sioned into Ed’s car before anyone sees.
He disposes of the car keys
Then he goes to get his car, on the way tossing the stolen car keys on the ground.
Siôn's promotion of Anita's specials . . .
Siôn and Ows are chalking Anita’s specials on a board outside the Deri;  as soon as they go inside,
. . . is soon thwarted by Britt
Britt turns the board round to face the wall.
Mark find Anita busy cooking at home
When Mark visits Anita, he finds her cooking for the party tomorrow night;  she worries that not many people are ordering her meals at the Deri.   “You need someone to look after your PR,” Mark tells her, “And I know just the person.”
Iolo is tidying up at number 7, while Gethin is taking it easy after finishing work.
A surprise visitor for Iolo
Wiliam arrives on the doorstep, to Iolo’s surprise, wanting to talk, but then there is another knock on the door.   This time it is Diane, who wants Iolo’s advice about installing underfloor heating at Bryntirion;
"Hope I'm not interrupting anything!"
after asking Wiliam if he is keeping the streets free of criminals, she sits on the sofa, then asks, “Hope I’m not interrupting anything.”
"What is wrong with you, Ed?"
Back at Garry’s flat, shouting is going on;  “What’s wrong with you?” demands Dani, and Ed replies that they should never have gone to the hotel.
"Garry will never work with me again!"
Sioned’s major concern is, “Garry will never want to work with me again!”   She is far from pleased when told that Ed saw the text on her phone that alerted him to where she was going.
When Garry joins them, he asks how Sioned is, and Dani answers, “She’s fine – it doesn’t stop her whingeing!”   Ed tells Garry he should never have put Sioned in that position, and Garry asks, “Are you saying it’s my fault?”
Dani tries to keep them apart
Dani stands between them and wants to know what was going on there – “The truth, this time!”
Garry tells them the whole story
“A friend asked me to get hold of a car for him.   The idea was for Sioned to get the keys, give them to me and I would deliver the car.”   Dani is furious that he had a chance to tell her the truth yesterday;  “I can’t trust you!” she says.
"Oi!   What about my nose?"
Meanwhile, Sioned wails, “Oi!   What about my nose?”
Siôn suddenly realises Wiliam is back
Gethin goes to the Deri and orders Lasagne, “As I didn’t get a chance to eat before Wiliam arrived.”   As soon as he hears this, Siôn is anxious to go over there.
"You've interfered enough!"
Britt objects;  “Leave him alone, you’ve interfered enough.   He doesn’t need a babysitter, and there’s plenty to do here.”   Siôn ignores her and leaves.

Anita is becoming disillusioned with working at the Deri
Anita comes out of the kitchen, asking, “Any orders for me,” and Britt tells her, “There’s one Lasagne – if you can cook that!”
Garry reports job cancelled
Garry makes a phone call to say the job had to be cancelled.
"You should go to hospital"
Ed insists that Sioned should go to hospital, but Sioned replies, “They’d ask what happened.   I can’t tell them that my boyfriend drove a car at me.”
Dani suggests, “Make something up – you’re good at that!”   Ed is worrying that Sioned’s eye is turning black, and she may have broken her nose.   As she refuses to be driven to hospital by Ed, Dani will take her.
Wiliam suggests a holiday
Iolo at last manages to get rid of Diane, advising her that underfloor heating is very expensive;  “Why not go on holiday with Dai instead?”   He has only had a chance to tell Wiliam that everyone knows everyone else’s business, and that it is getting on his nerves, when Siôn arrives at the door, checking up on Iolo.
"Is he staying long?"
“Fancy a bite to eat in the Deri?” Siôn asks Iolo, adding, “Is he staying long?”   Iolo tells Siôn they will be over later.
Dani wants to know what is going on
While Sioned is waiting to be seen at the hospital, Dani wants to know exactly what is going on.   Sioned insists, “There is nothing going on –you’re happy enough to spend Garry’s money!”
"If Ed's not good enough, find someone else!"
Dani tells her, “What about Ed?   You have no idea how much you’ve hurt him, because you were looking for kicks elsewhere.   From now on you’re staying away from Garry.   If Ed’s not good enough, find someone else!”
As Sioned is called by a nurse, Dani instructs her, “You walked into a door, OK?”
"Stay away from Siomned, or I'll tell the police"
Meanwhile, Ed wants to speak to Garry, warning him, “Stay away from Sioned or I’ll tell the police everything!   You’ve got Dani, Gwern, the garage, plenty of money, but that’s not enough!”
Garry’s reply is, “I’m building a future for Dani and Gwern – I don’t want to turn out like you!
"She wanted some excitement in her life"
I didn’t recruit Sioned – she came to me, and do you know why?   She wanted to make some real money and have some excitement in her life.”
Ed leaves, his parting comment being, “One day someone is going to get hurt because of you – because of the people you know and the things you do.”
Quick Dai, hide the biscuits!
At APD, Dai sees Diane coming and hides his biscuits;  he tells her how busy things are.   She says, “What we need is a holiday.”   Dai exclaims, “Not that again!” as she opens the laptop, to look for an online bargain.
“Have you changed the password,” she asks, and Dai tells her that Rhys changed it.   He refuses to tell her what the new password is;
"Can't reveal the password — security!"
“Jim wouldn’t like me to reveal company secrets.   You’ve made your decision now, you want to be at home on your backside, drinking coffee – one of these Loose Women!”
Diane has been offended
Diane glowers at him and walks out.
"As you thought, it is a broken nose"
Sioned arrives back from hospital and announces that she does in fact have a broken nose;  “I just have to wait for it to heal.”   Ed tells her that was the last thing he wanted to do, “But when I saw you with him, my head was all over the place.”
"I love you – you know that!"
Sioned is apologetic;  “I’m sorry!   I love you - you know that!” but Ed admits, “If being with Garry gives you a buzz, I can’t make you happy.”
She insists that it is only a business arrangement;  “No-one got hurt, the car owners were loaded and just claim new ones from the insurance.   Money was so tight, and I’ve had enough of scraping by.”
"I don't know you any more!"
Ed is forced to admit, “The problem is, I don’t know you any more!”
Anita wonders about the menu
In the Deri Anita is asking Diane whether she should reconsider her menu;  then Wiliam and Iolo come in,
"Try Anita's specials!"
and Mark points out Anita’s specials on the board.   Wiliam fancies the ham, but Britt immediately tells him that it is “off” and so is the lamb, the pair go off for a takeaway instead.
"Strange, I was told that earlier in the week!"
Diane remarks to Mark that she was told the same thing earlier in the week, so when Anita comes out with another meal, Mark asks her about the ham and lamb being “off”.
"No, there's plenty!"
“No, there’s plenty,” is her response.
"Someone is sabotaging your specials!"
“That’s not what Britt said,” continues Mark, “I’d say that someone is sabotaging your specials!”   Siôn is incredulous that this should happen,
"I don't want her specials!"
but Britt bursts out with, “I don’t want her specials!   You don’t support me, or listen to what I say!”
"I should leave!"
Anita concludes that she does not want to cause any more arguments;  “I should leave,” she says.
"Your father doesn't like me"
Iolo has ordered Indian takeaways;  Wiliam comments, “Your father will not be happy – he doesn’t like me.   Iolo explains, “He likes to think he can look out for me.
"I'm glad you came back"
I’m glad you came back.   I’m old enough to make up my own mind, and I don’t care what dad thinks.”
Garry apologises
Garry tells Dani he is sorry, and that he is going to put a stop to it.   Dani insists, “You’re going to stop working with Sioned!   If anyone helps you, it’s going to be me!”   He is adamant that he cannot take the risk, and reveals to her that what happened with the electrics was not an accident;
"Someone tampered with the wiring!"
“Someone tampered with the wiring – I don’t know who.”
"We must look out for each other"
“You must be straight with me, or the relationship won’t work.   We must look out for each other,” says Dani, “I’ve made my decision – I shall be with you, no-one else!”
